My favourite Hue and Cry song. Can’t believe didn’t crack the UK top 40. Criminal.
Ordinary angel for me
Really terrific music - wonderful melodies, great harmonies, funky backing and of course Pat Kane's superb vocals. This is pop music at its very best.
Pat Kane one of the best male
vocalists to come out of Scotland !
Pat Kanes vocals wayyyy underrated! He killed this one.
awesome good sinth& pop& white& brit soul example in the 80's . This song had less fortune than ordinary angel but is an exellent musicians and singer performance. For me their best
This video was recorded at the North terminal baggage area at Gatwick during its construction. I was up in the service area high up in the ceiling watching it being made. The music was loud and blew me away. I've been a Hue and Cry fan ever since. Great band.
This was never played enough. So good. Lindy.
Most underated group of the 80s and stunning voice
From my home town of Coatbridge, I have a pint with their young brother. Proud of Hue and Cry, Pat great singer
I adore this song and the voice is wonderful!!!!!
Class duo.Way underrated in my opinion 👏👏👏
Beautiful song.Pat Kane's voice is wonderful!!!!
Well done boys. After all these years.
one of the best male vocalists of the eighties Pat Kane what a great band still love 'em loads
Good Coatbridge bhoys, up the Toffees
Why so little views? Crazy. Very underrated. Love the bit where they look at each other and the words go from eyes to eyes. Lol.
Along with george michael pats voice is fantastic 😊
Hue and Cry......yet another reason why i love the 80s
Wow!!! you don't hear music like this anymore:(
Saw em before they were signed and many times after.
Never a bad gig!
Pat and Greg. Pure brilliance. Last time I saw this video I had hair too :) Check out Open Soul. Now that's what I call music.......
couldn't agree more. Love that album
Truly one of the best bands ever
The voice!!!!
awsome song bring back the eighties this guy can sing
Banger loved it
Ican never how these two brothers never went steller they are absolutely brilliant, awesome tallented, and fantastic live, need i say more.
Unfortunately, the brothers fell out and did'nt speak for a long while.
cheers m8 i didnt know that.
I read somewhere that Patrick Kane has cited Sinatra as a big influence on his singing. And that instantly made sense to me, you can hear the precision of Sinatra right in this song. No mucking about, every note is there for a reason. Awesome!
@genglemt: I started revisiting their back catalog and was stunned this song didn't manage to hit higher in the charts elsewhere back then. It's such a great song and vocal performance ever by someone in Pop music. After 2 or 3 listens it gets really addictive.
I met them 3weeks ago!! at The Midlands Music Festival, my teen heros, lovely blokes. Had a right good chat with Greg, top bloke!!
philip orme Yes ive met them and down to earth as they come 😊
This song/video deserves a proper remastered version. Great song and melody! ❤
Andrew ostromecki always comes to mind when I hear this masterpiece.
Fantastic stuff.
Different version compared to the 'Seduced and Abandoned'.
This song has been stuck with me for the past year and I'm still watching the vid for xth time now. Absolutely brilliant and dirty clean. Had I seen and heard this vid at the time, I think I would have matured overnight. My first introduction to HnC was LFL days. Somehow I feel cheated not hearing this tune back when it was first released.. Thanks for sharing this awesome tune and vid as it was gone missing on YT for a while...
I saw this video when it came out, but not since then! The song is even better, much much better than I remembered it. On second viewing, it's pure genius!
I couldn't agree more.
Sadly, I have been hearing their other songs and I don't like them even a little. Oh well.
What a brilliant band!
this guy could really bang out a tune!
Top Class Male Vocalist .
Love this song!!!!
im no kidding they were fabulous!!!!
it dont get any better than this superb
0:23 - Boy walking in the light but the torch is in his hand...
1:07 - Girl with a big desire taking every day a little higher...
Inspirational
his voice sounds like a deep baritone, not like the squealing we get from modern artists of today.
I'd love to hear Pat sing On Broadway by the Drifters. His voice is a perfect fit for it.
Actual voice not synthesized ouput
@@ansuajo I agree, it's the reason i don't listen to anything past 1991, Auto-tune is the biggest artist in the world, it's made Billions, yet it's a robot with no soul..
Just listening to this and sounds great love re visiting old songs Hue and Cry are fantastic and have stood the test of time!!
The bits where the song resolves to an accented chordal guitar riff underneath the smooth orchestral lines just sends me.
Tony McCracken. Top drummer
Superb on so many levels.
My favorite track from seduced and abandoned.. I remember this well... Beautiful summer at college, i can still smell the air.. Great times.. These guys are top drawer.. Proud to be a glaswegian...
Are there other bands from there this good? Not a big Simple Minds fan. And I loathe Cocqtuea Twins and Proclaimers! Yes, I realize the latter two might be from other places in Scotland.
Yes... The blue Nile , also check out gun... Great Glasgow bands
William Main I checked out Blue Nile a decade ago since they were more or less Art Rock royalty. Hate to say I didn't like it. Gun ... not a big fan.
@@williammain4769 Danny Wilson were Scottish, if not Glaswegian. Check out Mary's Prayer by them.
Not recommended, however, are Wet Wet Wet who hailed from nearby Clydebank at about roughly the same time as Hue & Cry. Their first single, Wishing I Was Lucky, was alright and has probably aged quite well but unlike Hue & Cry, Wet Wet Wet were about as socially aware as the Teletubbies and quickly became a housewives' daytime radio favourite. Lloyd Cole and The Commotions had a good couple of early albums/singles, though. Perfect Skin was a good song of theirs!
@@Ronno4691 yes I think Danny Wilson was Dundee, Hue and Cry my home town of Coatbridge
Im from paisly seen them 12 times wow
80's dont you just love em .......i do :)
One of the best swing bands ever! If the Kane Bros had been from London they would have been global! Simply discrimination!!
I love this video, I used to watch it repeatedly on my Hue and Cry VHS. I wonder if there is a Master tape anywhere to get a better quality picture?
I have to see these guys live!!!!!! Holla at me if they are still gigging.
They are still gigging i went watching them in st helens 2 weeks ago 12th april 19 fab as usual 😀
Heart and throb
@JohnnyContagious Glad you have taken a 'balanced view' here Johnny! Yes they did produce a couple of less than accessible albums but Bitter Sweet (1989) was a great set of songs and they have now reprised the format and given us a great new album. Listen to it and you might change your mind about them!
Il gruppo favorito i love hue and cry
L L L Love this song:)!!! and vox to greatly admire:)
Michael buble of the 80's
What an insult to this great band.
Way more talented than buble what a voice 😊
Somehow the singer reminds me of Dudley Moore.
Just found your channel mate, absolutely love the content. Subbed straight away, We should connect!
Can the music from the 80’s be bettered?
Seriously. Michael Buble has been stealing off these guys.
Unbelievable Band. This was pop music?? What the fuck happened????
I can’t be the only person who thinks the start sounds like Mario Kart music
:)
GENIUSESSS🎉🎉😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
