I love that we have poets among us , this brought a tear to my eye , I know every single street and monument but it’s the Dundalk turn of phrase , the tone and accent that resonates . Theses memories are the constant glow that warm us ... to recall those we are with and without ... remembering always where we’re from. Wonderful , thank you .
This is without doubt, the warmest and most emotional trip down memory lane I've ever experienced, and nobody could have presented better than Alvaro. The beautiful words from the pen of Anne, just catapult you back to the many years of our parades in town. Although not living there anymore, I always say, you can take the man out of the town, but you can't take the town out of the man. Much respect to all involved in putting this masterpiece together. It makes me so chuffed and proud to be from Dundalk!! C'mon da town!! ❤❤❤
I'm a south London boy whose father was from Greenore. Every summer we went 'home' to the Cooley Peninsula. I remember spending happy days in Dundalk, seeing Brian Berrells' law firm office and the thrill of seeing my surname, which was quite common in the wee county. Buying Looking After Number One by the Boomtown Rats on the Mulligan records label in the local record shop. I have lived in Catalunya for the last 26 years and the folk are like yourselves, warm open people. My happiest memories are of being among you. Dia dhaoibh agus tabhair aire.
Feckin deadly!!! Congratulations to all involved, especially Alvaro!!! 17th March was lock down day for the lower end with lorries, vans and pipe bands in our front gardens and us loving it!!! Our lassies and our fellas with spit and polish and enough shamrock to feed all the sheep in Cooley!! Good days to remember and more to look forward to! We are us and that,s all we need to be!! Go on yin good things! !!
What a talented amalgamation coming together to evoke past memories, and give hope for a brighter, better future. So proud of my home town, thank you all. Oh and alvaro! Bravo Bravo🎭🎭
