You legend! Perfect video showing every step with clear angles. Saved me a long trip and expense at the store, saved me a migraine, saved me from broken knuckles and saved my marriage. Cheers from Australia
Thank you so much for posting this, as others have said I was unable to find any worthwhile detail from Husqvarna nor anywhere else, with this I was able to complete the task and get mowing again fast. A lifesaver!
What a great video. Have just broken the trans belt on my 214tc and searched for a video and came across yours. Really well edited and thorough step by step guide. One of the best I've come across. Thanks for taking the time to post it. Right, time to get the tools and spare belt out.....
All done. Took about 30mins. One thing I would say is in reference to the tensioning pulley, if you disengage prior to feeding the new belt in/through then there's no difficulty.
Thank you so much for your appreciation 🥰 I am no expert and learned on the go as I tried myself when I recorded the video but I will have that in mind for the next time I need to replace it again 😀👍 probably will take so long time so I forget about it 😅 But thanks for the tip anyway 😊
Hiya from down the other side of the world, New Zealand. Now I would suggest that you leave those side covers off that you took off as they keep all that cut grass trapped in the frame and it builds up so much that your belts start to get jammed up eventually breaking. That grass needs to be removed on a regular basis or you will forever have problems. The same goes with under the cover for the transmission. The grass build up on the transmission will cause it to overheat and stop the mower from driving. I have a R16 C mower with a combi 94 deck that I brought a month ago. It has done 500 hours and runs like the day it was built. It is good when you can do your own repairs and save a lot of money by doing so. I do all my own maintenance and enjoy it. Okay, cheers from John in New Zealand.
Hello there and thank you so much for the great tip.👍 I'm sorry for not answer you earlier, but I wanted to do it properly with my computer but of course I forgot about it. Anyway, yeah I would really like to try that out. I have already changed every belt due to thick grass and overheated belts burning up for me and yeah it has always been full of grass behind the Covers so why not try it out at least. I have at least managed to figure out that if you mow the higher grass, it is good to remove the cover for fine cutting under the cutting deck, of course after a belt had broken that is 😄 Hehe yeah, If I had to hehe yeah if I had to send it in for repair every time something broke I'd be broke myself by now 😇 Thank you so much for your comment and hope to see you soon again😀👋
Thanks so much for posting this video, it made the process of changing my belt very straightforward. I actually needed to change the drive belt to the deck but your video covered everything I needed to know. I can only echo the other posts on how much it helped..! Cheers from Scotland!
Wow - thank you so much for this brilliant video! It saved me hours, and probably £100+ in parts and labour. Made the job fun, and the video was even funny! I found two things: - As others have said, turning the steering to full deflection makes access to the rear covers much easier. - Make sure the cutting deck is raised (drive disengaged) and then the rear tensioner is easy to deal with. Thanks!!
Hello from Germany. Tomorrow I have to do this with my 316. I did it 4 years ago but I have to replace all of the belts and the seat sensor(maybe). Now I can make a "battle plan" and don´t have to stand up 136 times for new tools. Thx
That sounds great 😀👍 At least you have 2 belts you can do for my video then 😄 If you have to change the back one, it's a little more tricky, I remember that I had to take away a fan to do it, perhaps I should make more "how to do" videos 🤔 it seems to be much appreciated 😊
@@Swedishcountrylife1 I have the whole Set but i'm Not Sure with the Last one. I will see how he looks and then decide what to do. The first one is always the worst.
To give yourself a better ride lower the tyre pressures, slight harder to steer but saves server back ache, leaving the belt covers off also stops grass fires and aids cleaning.
very nice work, I kept thinking when you went for the Allen key that you ought to have bits for the ratchet in the ratchet box, those ratchet boxes are a lifesaver sometimes
If you turn the steering all the way to the left and then all the way to the right, you can easily reach the rear screws of the V-belt cover. Even with a longer screwdriver ;)
Hi, a piece of advice the cutting deck should not be lowered with the engine at maximum revs but with 3/4 throttle otherwise the belt will wear out prematurely. I have a r316tx awd with 37 hours on it and it's still new. Also avoid mowing the grass that is too wet. Congratulations on the very useful video. Hello from Italy
Hello there, you are the first one from Italy that I know of so that is really nice to see 😀👋 I have not thought about that before but when Im thinking about it, It do make sence. So I will keep it in mind for next time 😊 I have already changed 4 belts and are still learning what works and what not to do hehe 😁
@@ursleodon9388 At that point it was the second time this belt broke for me, I also have replaced all other belts, even the one in the clipping deck, the machine had probably not run for more than 100 hours I think. Our grass is very thick and tall in some places and some times it takes up a lots of gravel and stones that get stuck between the belts and wearing it down way ro fast. But the main thing beckaus it breaks down so much is because im to harsh to the machine when im using it 😇
A huge thank you for this excellent video! I wonder whether you actually needed to undo that front bolt that holds the front belt or whether you could have slipped the new belt over the front belt? I’m going to try that anyway. Thanks again.

Questions:
1.) How many operation hours dit it take until the belt broke?
2.) How long have you owned the Rider at all?
