Tap firing the commando was the only way full auto was practically useless im glad they fixed that
So now after quite a few games, I want to say that you can safely fire about 6 shots before the accuracy starts to go, making the auto way more viable. Got lots of kills in ranked with it today.
shooting in bursts of three was reliable
I always considered the Commando as a "scoped" Bandit and would always tap fire
@@hypemann8085 that's fine but tap firing the commando really has no place in the game, the time to kill and ammo reserve being too long and too low respectively
scoped in 4-6 round bursts is actually viable now
They didn't bother making the plasma pistol's heat meter reflect the new changes. In the past, the pistol would overheat when the meter on the front of the gun was full. Now it overheats when it's like 75% full making the meter pretty nonsensical. I hope 343 notices it and fixes it.
343s lack of attention to detail is terrible
@@jackburton307 honestly having been with halo since halo 2...and having been through the 343 era...I feel like it's not that they don't have passion. They want to make something good...they just don't have the talent, management, or environment (covid wasnt helping...neither was the choice to make a new engine in house...)to do so...
Like the premise of halo 4, 5 and infinite is good its just the execution is not great. Id argue h4 has the "best" story and h5 the best gameplay between the movement, weapon variants (although i dislike the monetization) and the extensive forge (with funny weapon combos)
They make me think of gearbox, and how gearbox has only had one good franchise, borderlands. All their other games are meh. And even borderlands has its rough spots.
Like, halo 4 is cool. They really started to explore the forerunner stuff but then they fucked it up by having the didact be an off screen villain, and there was far too much book knowledge/deep lore needed to understand the story. The art style changes were the worst part about 4 and 5...though 5s campaign is a travesty.
I remember watching an interview with 343 people and one of the executives said they wanted to make halo their own franchise by changing the art and music and not live in bungie's shadow. And when you have a very beloved franchise that's being inherited by a new company that's literally the worst thing they could've done. How ironic that with infinite they tried to give the fans what they wanted but after a decade it was too little too late. And even infinite is meh to the point where theyre basically ditching it.
Its sad to see that call of duty won the halo vs cod war that started all those years ago. Never thought id see the day where halo was basically a dead franchise game wise.
That's just an oversight
Idk makes sense to me, over overcharging would look different than overheating
@@everythingsalright1121 "new engine" is bullshit. They spruced up the old engine and called it new
Commando gonna be my favorite weapon now
They still aren't willing to make Plasma Pistol single-shots stronger the cowards. It's one of the hardest weapons in the game to land all your hits with (that isn't based on janky tracking) why is it also one of the slowest TTKs?
We don't have a Plasma Rifle, Repeater, or even a Storm Rifle. Let the Plasma Pistol cook a bit in close range duels.
Agreed it’s still going to be ignored for EMP in favor of Disruptor (more versatile)
Ignored over the Mangler for shots fired to kill.
And in the time to kill a Sidekick user can damage or put down two targets.
343 did nearly all the sandbox changes to address Ranked / HCS gameplay rather than practical quality of life changes for the masses.
Commando buff was welcomed, but wouldn’t be needed if they didn’t nerf it in the first place.
Gravity Hammer was undoubtedly the most casual user focus update and honestly wasn’t needed. Hammer users were far from unbeatable.
I think it's fine. People really underestimate just how deadly the thing is at close range. Only five shots to drain shields and even less for a melee kill follow-up. In melee range it kills almost as fast as the mangler if you have quick fingers.
And that's not even factoring in the insta-kill "plasma punch" if you pre-charge your shot
Thank god they bascially brought the Plasma pistol and Commando back to what they were in the Winter update, i always found it so dumb they buffed those guns then nerfed them right away after
The plasma pistol will never be like the versions from older Halo games
I love the idea of the Commando but it feels like 343 has no idea what they want the weapon to be.
@@KenzidagamerPeople out here forgetting the plasma pistol for Halo CE and Halo 2.
@@AgentSkidZ More or less because the original incarnation was a gun from a different type of game. It was designed like a Counter-Strike weapon. It stood out and gave the sandbox more variety, but it was never interchangeable on weapon pads. 343i have slowly changed the design into more of an auto DMR instead of something you need to pace oddly.
@@Swim_Jonseit was always meant to be a bit of an auto-DMR, everyone noticed this in the gameplay reveal trailer. Halo Infinite’s biggest noticeable trait when it comes to its sandbox is “hybrid” or multi-purpose weapons:
Stalker rifle is not quite a sniper, but way too strong to fill a “DMR” role, it’s in-between.
Skewer fills not only a Spartan Laser role, but a sniper role.
Cindershot is a grenade/rocket launcher of sorts, but a VERY long ranged one, capable of easily taking people out cross-map.
Heatwave is a shotgun similar to the scattershot, and capable of bank shots, but despite being a shotgun it can be used effectively at long ranges (if using vertical target)
Pulse carbine is of course like a plasma-BR, with a heavy tracking feature like previous plasma pistols.
Ravager is very hard to categorize. It’s not an expIosive. You can sorta use it as if it’s a close ranged battle rifle, but it’s also got its area of denial melting shot.
I wish they buffed the ravager so more people would use it.
In the books it's described as raining death plasma and it sucks in multipler
It kills in 2-3 bursts. If it sucks in multiplayer it’s because you’re using it wrong.
Unless you’re talking Ravager Rebound, in which case it’s worse than a Plasma Pistol.
Yeah the variant Ravager is straight up ass. I don’t know what they were thinking.
they did exactly that 2 years ago
The overcharged is sorta useful on objectives to keep them clear. But other than that it needs a huge buff.
Wow, hard to beleive the Commando was that bad.
It was more than Terrible
it was okay-ish weapon to use when out of ammo and it's the only weapon in the rack
I know you have done graphics problems comparisons with halo mcc, did you know that banished gates used to emit a vapour like effect that shoots upwards rapidly when a gate is deployed or undeployed, and that this effect got accidentally removed shortly after launch?
You can find early gameplay footage of the effects running, but they are absent now, just something worth mentioning, as we lost visual effects in the post launch chaos of halo infinite.
I have a comparison i put together for 343 support that i should upload myself soon.
They didn't seem to adjust the overheat dial on the plasma pistol. The pistol overheats when the dial is only at about 75%
Thanks!
Thanks as always, why!
more vids like this i love balance changes ahah
Great vid why
Welcome back WHY!
Thank you why 😊
Be on later tonight 😬
Plasma pistol overcharge is still too slow imo but it’s getting there. I’d be fine if the EMP was brought back but it’s still not worth it
I like this version of the gravity hammer. Seems more balanced
Commando buffs finally!!!
Did they fix the Hydra yet?
One day I'll consider giving Infinite another chance, but man I hate the 343 sound effects for plasma weapons. The remastered audio (music and gun sounds) were the worst part of the Halo 2 remaster. Just doesn't sound like Halo should.
The Plasma Pistol change is the easiest immediate improvement to me. I have never, ever liked the stupidly long charge. It'd be one thing for it to be higher but it doesn't match the audio and visual cues I've been used to my entire Halo career in other games, leading to so many instances of it feeling charged but it isn't. Have to wait until the stupid reticule is complete. It's not at parity with the Bungie games but it's so much better now. The weapon's utility is back.
The Commando change is great, but I still wish instead of making it easier to use, they'd just go back to the pre-release 2021 flights version with its 7 shots to kill and keep the gun hard to use, rewarding excellent handling with incredibly fast TTK at the expense of being able to make a mistake. This changes the gun fundamentally but it's still way better than the position it's been in ever since they bumped it to 9 shots to kill.
The tracking on the PP is still awful which I think is it's main problem. Should be a middle ground between the insane H2-like tracking it had in the winter update and what it is now where someone basically has to be coming at you in a straight line.
I agree with the comment that the plasma pistol still has no meaningful improvement. It’ll still be ignored in favor of every other pistol in the sandbox.
Plasma moves too slow, charged shot tracking is not strong enough, time to kill is far too high.
@@mhm35 Agree with everything except TTK being too high; it's not meant to be a killing weapon.
@Ocy345Vidz I disagree because every other weapon in the sandbox could kill relatively easily if played correctly. The PP is useless except for hoping your charged shot connects and then finishing with your remaining weapon.
@@mhm35 Eh gotta have some weapons with a purpose other than killing but the current PP doesn't excel at anything.
campaign too ?
Why does the stalker rifle take longer to vent when it already took forever to vent already
The Bandit reload speed doesn’t look any faster
Wow, I never know the game could be this smooth, I thought that's how it has was supposed to feel, this is so neat 😊
Ikr I always thought my setup was just bad
Is this the "BIG balancing patch" I was eagerly awaiting?
Sidekick stays the same? Not really liking this
The halo infinite plasma pistol is a hideous abomination.
Now that networking's been improved, they should bring back disruptor DoT
The stalker rifle was already fucking useless as a covenant alternative to the sniper.
Me when shock weapons still exist: 👉👌
Does mouse n keyboard have aim assist in this game or not?
Yes
Yes which is absolutely ridiculous.
Sad the game is still in beta! They still can't fix the first person view disappearing body and legs when going over 72 FOV, or having fullscreen support to get rid of the frame pacing issues and micro stuttering.
2 years
Ever had you nugget blown off by TurkeyFLAPPS??
disruptor buff next 🙏🙏🙏
The dmr did not need a buff.
Woo let's go play another game though
They destroy weapons...
IT REMINDS ME TO BLACK OPS 2 NERFS
And the pulse carbine still continues to be absolutely useless. Over 2 years after launch...
skill issue, try thinking when you play
You’re using it wrong.
Definitely using it wrong
Don't listen to these idiots. Anyone who thinks the Pulse Carbine is a viable weapon is definitely running a negative K/D.
does that include MintBlitz? Because I've def seen him pick it up.
And why would we lie? It homes in on targets. It has built-in aim assist LOL@@Will-hv9ns
Still no AR nerf.
Facts. They balance everything else yet do nothing about the Minigun.
The AR is in a good place and has been for years. It's stuff like spawning with it that could be changed.
AR is just fine. A skilled Sidekick user beats AR at close range, and skilled BR/Bandit user beats AR at longer ranges.
I will concede though that Commando vs AR is a bad match up for the commando
@@ravenwulf8 Notice how you said "Skilled". Thats why the AR is OP, it takes no skill to use and can still compete with the other weapons which take a lot more skill to use.
@@danjjjatest I literally just told you how the Sidekick beats it. The whole point is to give unskilled players a fighting chance while still rewarding skilled players with the win, which the Sidekick does.
If you're trying to argue that an automatic weapon should never have a fighting chance even in casual modes, we'll I disagree with that philosophy.
Is the game as good as 3 or Reach? No? Then it's not worth it, not paying micro transactions
No ones making you pay for them
L Gravity Nerf W Commando Buff
The aim assist is already so ridiculous that controllers somehow have an advantage over m&kb. Why would they increase it even more
Halo has always been for controllers
@@massid3774 ...because it was a console game. That still doesn't explain why they would further increase already heavy aim assist
at least test the hammer on another player bro
Not enough to bring me back. (Yes 343 will miss me dearly)😢
"increased reload speed" *is 3 frames faster*
118th like 😈I ruined it
You fucking monster…
>:(
All of these changes were stupid and unnecessary.
They should of gotten it right the first time
The plasma pistol is still just a useless piece of garbage that nobody wants to use. If they cant take it out of the game, I wish they’d atleast take it out of fiesta & husky raid. It’s too imbalanced, if you spawn with a plasma pistol & ravager for the third time in a row while the enemy has spankrs & hammers, you may as well turn the game off & go do something worth your time
The entire sandbox is so fake
Aim assist really carrying y’all
No way people still play this dead game 😂😂😂
Wow… such game changing. Not
bro people still play this? lol
Man don't hate on the 5 people total 😤😤
idk what you do with your free time

Population has nothing but grown and grown in the past year. You can fill lobbies literally 24/7 in SECONDS, from morning to 3 am. I've never waited even a full minute except of course for ranked.
Why don't people say this kind of shit about MCC? it has less active players even if it has more "users". I play both daily and the difference is staggering.
You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. No fucking clue.
@@unknownwill4th549 A lot more people are playing Infinite than MCC. Why don't you shit on the MCC population then?.
It has more users, because it's been out for a decade, but less active users.
In Infinite you can fill lobbies in a matter of a few seconds literally 24/7. Morning, noon, 3 am. I've never waited a full minute except for ranked.
I play both games daily and the difference is staggering. I wish MCC had the population Infinite has. Obviously 4v4 with all titles enabled is going to be somewhat quick, but change the game mode and parameters and you are in for a long wait if you are not on peak hours.
Infinite's population has only grown and grown in the past year.
You have no idea what you are talking about. Only if you believe the lies some big (non-halo) UA-camrs told a few months ago telling the opposite story, based only in the steam population from a very specific time period.
I'm just stating facts. And people like you honestly just sound like salty man-childs.
Been playing since early 2002. I rather play the most popular Halo game at the moment, with the most fun and varied sandbox in the history of the IP, than being just a pathetic blinded bungie fanboy in its 30/40's.
the update is trash, no split screen coop and no campaign, booooooooooooooooo
Dead game.
L
343 sucks because their games are cartoony and only kids
erds like it.
They make Aim Assist even stronger so mnk player cant stand a chance so bad
Why in the fuck would they nerf the Stalker Rifle? That thing was already near useless.
Enter a ranked arena game on streets and tell yourself it's useless. At a high level it's a free 6 kills because it's a 3 shot perfect.
I've played ranked arena at the second highest level and not seen anybody once use that weapon effectively. It's a 3 shot perfect with a horrible reticle, horrible sight and a artificially nerfed fire rate that punishes you hard for missing. Maybe the top 1% of players can make it work, but that doesn't justify this nerf. It's a power weapon, it's meant to be powerful, but in almost all circumstances you're better off using a BR or Bandit.@@jackcolson4745
My responses are being deleted for whatever reason, but I had a look at your channel and found your gamer tag, I can't see why you would think this is weapon is a valid choice.@@jackcolson4745
