I have had the same bike for a year now. My wife and I love it. We also were previous tandem cyclists for about 14 years. We still have our Cannondale tandem. I has not been out of the shed for a year. Presently we are on vacation in Quebec City and the hills are so steep and so much fun now.
Great review, Andrew - really informative. An electric tandem has been on our wish list for a while now, and from what you describe, the Moustache looks like an excellent choice.
What I cannot understand is why the big brands haven't started making e-bikes with fast charging batteries? We already have smartphones which charge from 10% to 75% within 20-25 minutes, we have ultrafast charging Tesla cars, but e-bikes still need 4-6-8 hours of time for full battery charge. I understand there're different types of batteries and some of them are not fine with fast charging like relatively lightweight li-ion batteries, so for less weight on some bikes the time sacrificed on charging is ok. But I keep seeing Cube Cargo trike that by itself weighs aroung 75 kilos and is obviously still equipped with the same type of batteries (so the changing time is around 6-8 hours) instead of reliable LiFePo batteries which can handle lots of ampers for charging to make it full of energy within 1 hour without breaking the battery or making their life shorter. Yes, it will add some cost and weight, but another 5 kilos and 300 euros won't be felt in product, that is already 75 kilos (more or equal to riders weight) and 5000+ euros. Imagine if you could get back 60% of energy to your battery within 25-30 minutes, while you're resting and having a snack break in a cafe. Additional ~75 kilometers of electric assistance. I wonder did you ride in snowy conditions or in winter conditions in general on your electric tandem?
To get fast charging rates on some batteries, you need extremely high amounts of wattage. Tesla superchargers use 350kW systems. . . that's hundreds of times more than an entire house uses. In my ignorant opinion, you would need to have bike chargers built similarly to tesla chargers, albeit not as heavy duty.
An Ebike on tour needs to be charged if not every day, then at least every other day. That means 4 or 6 hours connected to the mains. If you are staying in a accommodation then there is plenty of time overnight. If you are on a campsite then a power socket should be available. But if you want to wild camp in wilderness it’s going to be a problem. You could acquire some charge during a stop in a cafe but not enough to replace a day’s cycling.
Hi I'm not sure about your battery should be something like 48 volt 15 amp hours the bike looks good what's the average speed and distance on battery life
Hi Rob, as with all ebikes the answer is “it depend“s. Do the riders weight 60kg or 90kg, travelling at 15kmh or 30kmh, in big mountains or flat, superb fitness or no fitness, full touring gear or no gear. There is no simple answer. We can do 120km / 5 hours of riding no problem.

thanks Andrew... about to get one just come up !
Great video, saw an e mtb tandem at Rutland water, opted for two conventional hardtails... Kicking myself now!
Great video! I did not realize that the batteries can be charged in the tandem. Now I found the connector on the upper battery holder, great!
Hermosa tándem, amigo! Desde Argentina un abrazo!,aquí no hay esa marca de tándem 😢, gracias por tu vídeo!👏
We have a Pedego Tandem here in Colorado. Single battery but its great here at altitude!
Very informative! Thanks and happy trails to you!
Nice video. Thanks!
I like Tandem. 👍
Very informative Andrew and the narration speed just perfect! Love the doggy interlude 😂. Happy to see Mullingar featured 👌🏼

Thanks for the thoughtful review . My question is how practical is the bike on a longer tour when you have to find a place to charge .

On mainland Europe it's hard to find a quick and solid tandem bicycle. 😎
Nice video thanks. Are the lights working with a dynamo or do you have to buy batteries ?
Electric bikes have batteries supplied :)
Most electric bikes come with lights fitted and they run off the same battery as the motor.
Great video!
How to buy in India, pls suggest 🙏
The Dawes Galaxy has been great, but time to move on
Super, i like it 😀👍
I want one !

Hi Andrew. How tall are you? I am 1m95 and so am worried the cockpit will be too small for me - we would use it off road mostly (MTB trails)
Thanks
Hello Warren, I talk about sizing at 4:50.
I'm 188cm so you are on the limit. Just have to try one to see if it fits 😊
