    This is just an excellent product review. Seriously!! My wife and I are going to purchase a truck bed camper this year and we have been looking at all brands. We were leaning towards Lance but have absolutely hated there reviews and there web site is just horrible. Thank you for actually reviewing your product. This camper is perfect for us. Glad we kept looking after being so discouraged by Lance. Looks like it will be an Arctic Fox for our adventures.

    Your team has nearly built the perfect cabover camper. Consider these ideas that will get your camper fully perfect and several steps forward in practicality:
    1. Move away from the old-fashioned gaudy racing-stripe exterior. Should be easy to offer a custom color choice in solid paint shades that blend into surroundings, especially when stealth camping.
    2. There's wasted and unused space everywhere that could add at least 10 square feet of additional storage.
    3. Please offer OPTIONAL convection ovens, giant microwaves, and enormous refrigerators (not everyone plans to bake a Christmas turkey, nuke a big-dish casserole, or store food for 6 in a cramped RV, where more drawers/cabinets in those spaces would be beneficial).
    4. Please offer dinettes with an OPTIONAL two-seat version, with the unneeded seat space used for more cabinets.
    5. Raise the big mattress a few inches and hinge it to reveal a bed-size space x 5 inches beneath for critical additional storage.
    6. The awning is great, but please provide an OPTIONAL three-sided canvas & Velcro attachment that would hang from it and wrap around it, creating a livable additional exterior tent room when parked.
    7. Wet bath: recess enough small racks in the walls to hold at least 12 bottles with heights equal to a mouthwash bottle. Also, there's room for a nearly full-length mirror on one wall or inside the door.
    8. USB charging: Instead of USB charging outlets here and there, create and recess one space providing many outlets for charging multiple devices.
    9. Please put all the electronic controls IN ONE PLACE facing out at eye level (such as above the door). No squatting, stooping, or neck craning to see those things!
    10. Recess at least 2 caddy spaces for rechargeable flashlights
    and put plugs in the recess.
    11. Install a hidden steel safe bolted-in under one of the dinette seats.
    12. Provide a small ice chest that will fit in the refrig or shower as needed.
    13. Switch to a deep kitchen utility sink that wet boots or a big iron skillet can soak in.
    14. Find a way to install by the kitchen sink corner a 5-gallon bottled water dispenser.
    15. Surge protector: at least make available an optional built-in surge protector.
    16. Vacuum: install a recessed and easily interchangeable canister vacuum with a hose that will reach from dashboard to rear
    .
    17. Sconces: recess in main cabin several built-in vented wall sconces for holding candles when off grid
    18. Chimney hole: provide an OPTIONAL chimney hole over the range where a small wood-burning stove can be set for interior off-grid heating (that can also be detached and moved outside for off-grid cooking)
    19. TV: that's a lot of real estate used for something that won't be touched most of each day, so how about mounting on hinges a storage cabinet over the tv, one that can be swung aside when tv viewing is desired?

    Is it possible to Get rid of black tank, oven, and microwave? Then insert a cassette toilet, electric induction cooktop, and cover the roof with solar panels? Are the jacks removable?

    • @colormedubious4747
      @colormedubious4747 4 роки тому

      There's an option that replaces the oven with two drawers. A cassette toilet will reduce your camping time drastically. Induction cooktops eat power like crazy which requires you to burn a lot of propane by running your generator, also reducing your camping time. It's far more efficient to just cook with propane. Additional solar is an option but you cannot "cover the roof" with it because there's an A/C, antenna, and several vents and skylights up there. Removing the jacks is a TERRIBLE idea. Why would you want to?

  • @wilfromindiana7852
    @wilfromindiana7852 4 роки тому

    Love love love to get this one, but seeing you guys won't install cassette toilets, I'll need to look eles where for a truck camper. We prefer cassette toilets after we gave one a try in our last rv, and now for us, black tanks are out.

    When you buy a 2019 Northwood product you get a product you can't use because..a furnace that doesn't work until you figure it out yourself, A shower improperly installed that doesn't slop towards the drain(their suggestion buy a squeegee to get the water out of the shower pan),a chipped sink, A tie down that rips off the siding when fastened to the truck... ECT.. a manufacturer that doesn't stand behind their product tells you to pound sand when you want it fixed!

    • @colormedubious4747
      @colormedubious4747 5 років тому +2

      What does "ECT" mean? ElectroConvulsive Therapy? I hear what you're saying: You either accepted a damaged rig from the dealer without presenting a punch list and then blamed the manufacturer for it, or you are working for the competition. Here is what you should have done: 1) A thorough walk-through with the dealer demonstrating ALL systems, 2) Level your rig correctly, 3) Require the dealer to fix cosmetic issues before accepting the rig, and 4) Don't over-tighten your turnbuckles.

    • @JoeyR0521
      @JoeyR0521 5 років тому

      @@colormedubious4747 do you want to know what Ect... means...? It means a chipped sink, a water Gage that doesn't work because of improper install of the sensors, loose step about to fall off entering the bathroom. All the above was brought up during presentation( was supposed to be fixed)(they did fix the step). How about the door frame that is installed unsquare ( door scrapes on the frame, doesn't shut properly and alows a draft). Oh yeah and the ice forming on the inside of my wall because of the missed location the insulation was supposed to be installed!
      (1)My shower will properly drain if I have the camper 3inchs lower on the passenger side.. If that's what you want to call leveling your camper properly...
      (2) it was either me tightening the tie downs too much or it had to do with the screws that completely missed the anchor point it was supposed to be drilled into... (common sense would say the miss screws into the anchor point is the culprit).
      (3) there are things that you don't see at the dealership that you notice in real world testing. It's a brand new camper all these problems should be covered under manufacture warranty. The dealership did what they were authorized to do plus some... Manufacture warranty should say.. If it's an easy fix we will fix it.. if it's a difficult fix it's your problem
      Btw I am not competition This is my third Northwood product (no problems with my previous older ones) (2005, 2013) and needless to say my last.
      Instead of getting online and talking crap.. maybe you should stand behind your product. it's already bad enough your customer had to deal with all these problem and come home from vacation three times early because faulty product!!! let me guess.. Next your going to tell me I should bring -30 degree sleeping bag so we don't freeze death in our brand new camper
      This is my first online complaint about any product that I've ever owned 😡

But that being said, if I wouldn't have bought my Lance, I probably would have gotten an Arctic Fox In my case, weight what a prime factor, though. And clearly an AF is up there in quality. If one is planning on full time RVing, you wanna start with a high quality product, or else you will regret it. I guaranty it. It is better to pay as much as you have to upfront rather than to try to fix shit that goes wrong because you bought a "bargain" product of lesser quality. Someone tell me how that is wrong.
