A real loss. A talented creative man with the most beautiful eyes. Way ahead of his time, rest in peace and never forgotten for the inspiration you gave many.
What a darling, I used to go to Camden Palace when Steve owned it, I have fond memories of great times. He has come out the other side and is a better person for it, and is still making some banging tunes...Much love D xx
Thank you so much for this clip :) Steve comes across as so adorable!!! I will always be so grateful for what Steve, Boy George and the others did for us in the BLITZ era I am so happy to see that Steve is back !!!
Interesting interview - great to hear and see him again - my copy of the new album has just arrived. Have listened to 3 tracks so far and liking it a lot. I remember Steve Strange signing my single of Tar (he said it was rare!)
I love the first album, the new one was good, too, but somehow I thought it missed the amazing arrangements and surface the old one had (especially the first one). But Steve Strange is definitely an all-time hero :) Godspeed Mr.Strange
Probably because the early albums were more or less Ultravox and Midge Ure. That saying, lovecSteve Strange - he was a great front man and went out on a high with the last album.
Heart and Knives was a brilliant album that authentically recreated the early 80s New Romantic sound by the same people who created it. Shameless Fashion is banger of the highest order! I’d love to cover. I was truly devastated when Steve died because I have a mutual friend and I could’ve met him. He’s been a hero of mine since I was 13. I cried for days on end. So tragic, especially because Visage could’ve continued putting out more albums and with the current appeal and emulation of the style of 80s synth pop, they would be really perhaps a bigger deal now more than ever. RIP Steve Strange.
boy george carried steves coffin at his funeral along with the kemp brothers so he must have liked him really. but hes admitted in the past he was jealous steve got famous before him.
Midge and billy currie we're really the back bone of visage, without the writing team all that's left is a pretty face, and that only takes you so far.
Of all reunions that were and could have been - I must admit, Visage are definitely the biggest surprise of them all that I never expected or hoped for. Always loved their first two albums, which are masterpieces (unfortunately "Beat Boy" is a downright miss of an album (great title though), with too much hi-tech bragging than actual songs). Especially considering all the horrific time Steve Strange went through during these last three decades, it is truly amazing to see a proper line-up, and Steve pulling himself back together again and delivering a decent, fresh Visage record. For me, they were never one-hit wonders - to be honest, I cannot really listen to "Fade To Grey" anymore. It's been so overplayed by everyone that it had probably done Visage more injustice than bringing them deserved respect. With this new album and their, now revisited history, I am happy to see their credit is finally and fully due.
To put Visage and Steve Strange in the same genré as Boy George, Dead or Alive or any other group from this era is a total miss.... Visage stood alone during the 80's above and beyond anything else ever done. I'm a HUGE Adam Ant fan and had a massive man crush on AA but Stevie took Visage soaring above all others.
Never met him but what Truly lovely man

The new album sounds amazing.
Listened to Steve on radio 2 tracks of your years recently. Top man, Visage were/are a unique sound..

RIP ANGEL
Miss Boy George is always painting SS as a bitch ,but you can tell from this and other interviews that Steve Strange is a sweet heart.

A great ,great SINGER ...forever ...
Sucks that he's gone....I love this guy!! Unfortunately Visage went downhill quickly after Midge Ure left, and never recovered!!

sadly missed - a good Welshman
Does anyone know where this interview took place
Yes but Roxy music , Bowie, and Bolan a way behind

Visage was really Midge Ure and when he was gone the magic was gone. The third album was a dirge and don't get me started on Strange Cruise! WTF!?
@@discodirk48 well still steve was a very good vocalist
I want to hear what he said at 12:53 (that was cut out) about demented fans .
me and my gay partner Stephen Clarke who likes and love steve strange and visage music forever
tried to pick my bf up in toilets and was hassling him all night
