    I am gonna love this series! I have anxiety regarding travel for plus sized people. Disney is the one place I don’t have to worry about because they are super plus-sized friendly

    I have a larger top and I was in line at a universal studios Harry Potter ride and two staff members came over and asked me to come with one of them while the other one kept my spot in line and they put me in a “test seat” to make sure the bar would click into place. I thought that was cool of them so I didn’t wait in line to just not be able to even ride. I was able btw lol

    • @LRB9498
      @LRB9498 Рік тому +6

      I really like how a lot of theme parks with particular seating are now leaving a "tester" seat at the entrance so you can see if you'll fit in the seat before waiting in line.

    • @erinlenevez2389
      @erinlenevez2389 Рік тому +5

      I sought these "test seats" out at Universal Studios Japan and they were fantastic, so you don't spend ages lining up thinking you would be fine. And this is good even for taller people, or people with long legs, not just plus size.

    Just a few thought from a 19 year cast member which 15 years of that was in Epcot and sweated my life away as a plus size person in Florida heat 😂😬. There are always places for a/c! Cutting through gift shops is on of my biggest was around the heat. A good place to get out of the heat and calm down is also Baby Care. Yes, babies, however it’s a nice quiet place that typically has a a few tables and chairs and it’s never really very busy and also has a place to fill water bottles. Starbucks locations will give you free iced water along with having those filling stations around the parks. Bring your own sunscreen. We run out of that so fast and I’ve seen so many guest have to go without. You will always be able to get a Manula wheelchair (possibly exception being NYE). Electric ones are limited and do run out but you have an option of joining a waitlist in the meantime. So far the only ride I couldn’t make work (I’m 5’3 and about 280) Flight of Passage. Mine Train was right but I did it. Haven’t yet done Guardians or TRON. My calves were why Flight of Passage didn’t work for me. Anna is right about the discreteness of the cast when you can’t ride. I have an idea it would work going into it so I was ok. Plus you have to bend your knees and that angle want going to work for my cause of my knees being bad. Another thing I want to mention is the “quiet seasons” meaning less crowded are usually mid January to the beginning of March and the end of August through maybe mid October. Just wanted to share a few thoughts I had while watching! Hope you all decide to take a chance on us and have a magical time! ❤ -Amy

    Disney is one of those places you have to prepare for physically. Like if you're not a regular walker you better start prior to going. You can't go from inactive to walking 5-10 miles a day without misery. Good video!

    Thank you so much for this! My personal experience with coaster-type rides is that my thighs don't fit in the (bucket or individual) seats as that's the widest part of my body. But you are absolutely right--the employees are very courteous and gracious when it comes to these issues or if you are in a wheelchair. Thanks again--this was so helpful!

    Love it! One suggestion, maybe include accessibility under Terrain because that might already cover how you are accessing the locale (walking, wheelchair, etc). Then change A to Activity. Then you could discuss accommodations, physicality, and exertion.

    Thank you Anna for mentioning how small the rides at Universal are ❤ I really wanted to go on the Harry Potter ride and was mortified when I couldn’t fit. My friend and daughter still rode it while I went and sat outside. Sadly Universal is cheaper than Disney (California) so we always end up at universal when we visit the USA. You have made me feel better today xxxxxx

    THIS WAS GREAT! 🎉 thank you for sharing this ❤ I had a very embarrassing situation on our local park bumper cars where I couldn’t get the safety bar down. Unlike the Disney cast, the teenagers 🙄 working at the park were not discrete nor had the skills to shut their mouths about it, and I had to walk all the way back through the line to leave. So I appreciate you Anna and all your compassion . i’m going to Hawaii in a couple of months and being a plus size person. I have very much appreciated your tips and tricks. And also you have given me so much confidence in myself and being OK with clothing. ❤

    I was in a wheelchair for part of the day (it’s a long story) at Epcot, and it’s surprisingly hilly from the perspective of someone in a wheelchair who’s not used to/conditioned to using a wheelchair. My sister was pushing me, and when we were going down an incline it took the both of us resisting it to keep me from flying down the hill 😂😂

    I don't know if anyone mentioned it already, but water is actually free. It's only bottleled water that has a cost. You can ask for a cup for free at any of the Quick-service restaurants, and many have a little station set up with water already in cups.

    I ALMOST didn't fit on Rise of the Resistance. My hubby got finally got my seatbelt buckled, and we were OK. Scary, though! I'm ~475 and 5'6". But, most of Disney World is VERY accessible. :) We used mobility scooters, and even the buses were accessible.

    Also - renting wheelchairs and ECVs is available at the parks, but it's usually a better deal with ScootAround or Buena Vista Rentals, and they will deliver it straight to your hotel (Disney or not)

    I went in 2017 with my family. I’m 5’8 and wear a 26/28. When we were checking into our hotel (The Polynesian) the cast member helping us was very similar to my size. I simply asked “are there any rides or attractions that I won’t be able to ride due to my size. She simply said “I’m so glad you asked at check-in! I would’ve felt horrible if you were anxious about it the whole time. I’m sure you will fit in them all; but, you may be a little uncomfortable riding is Flight of Passage.” She was right: I would’ve been stressing the entire time AND I rode all of the rides. 😊

    This video is helpful! I recently went to Disney and was pleasantly surprised at their inclusiveness to my body and my poundage! Would recommended to any pounded bodied people and if you have anxiety about your body, leave it at the gates of Disney! ONLY issue is the sun as I feel I obtain more sun than others due to my body having more area to cover, so I recommend bringing an umbrella for the sun, which doubles in use if it rains!

    I think Disney does a great job of catering to very small children, plus size people and disabled people (really everyone). I imagine it’s very hard to design something for a plus sized adult and a child 38” tall safely. Overall they really make the effort. Universal is really for people 8+ years old and is not size inclusive

    I understand that some people, for whatever reason, need to use scooters/wheelchair/strollers in Disney Parks. I do wish those guests would observe the rules of the road and keep those slower moving vehicles on the right side of foot traffic lanes. It would be a courtesy to the able bodied guests that walk more quickly.

    I live in FLorida and she's spot on with the summer months. I've been here 23 years, and my body still hates the humidity. But if you have high humidity and high temps you're in trouble. You sweat out all your liquids...so you don't realize how easily you're dehydrating. I wouldn't recommend summer Disney to everyone...some can handle that extreme in temps, but others can't.

    One correction is regarding the use of a wheelchair. I personally saw somebody cut the entire line and get straight to the front of the line in MK because they were in a wheelchair and for no other reason, however, I didn’t have an issue with it. I’d rather wait in line a little longer than need to use a wheelchair. So I'm okay with it.

    My heads up for Universal, if the Jimmy Fallon ride is still there, the tester seats seat belt is waaaaay smaller than the actual ride, which sucked
