Incredible work, once again! Your visual editing is absolutely immaculate! There's so many tiny little details such as the character warping onto the screen at 4:18, the music sync (especially during the gathering sessions), and the small little visual jokes sprinkled throughout like the explanation-ception at 5:25 and the camera perfectly following Kluex Avatar's tragic demise at 14:51. The pacing throughout is really solid, as well! None of the sections felt like they overstayed their welcome, and the more tedious sections cut a great balance between showing how long you took without actually making us suffer through any of the pain. The buildup to the "big reveal" near the end genuinely caught me by surprise (Though I really should have noticed, having played the game myself. Oops). I personally would have gone with the original line for the third motivational thing, but I'm a sucker for really cheesy lines, so maybe take that a grain of salt. One small thing to note is that the background music was very loud this episode. I greatly appreciate the Touhou bangers all throughout, but it was genuinely difficult to hear your voice at times. Your offhand remarks (such as the one at 6:00) were especially drowned out by the epic tunes. It's still listenable, but definitely something to tone down slightly for the next time. Thanks for taking the time to put all this together! It was a fantastic watch, and I'm looking forward to whatever challenge you decide to inflict upon yourself next!

This game just makes me sad tbh. I fucking love its aesthetic and core gameplay. So much better than Terraria in both aspects IMO. The disappointment comes because the game does so LITTLE with it. The story is one of the most phoned in things imaginable (most of it being "hey go scan this RNG settlement then kill a boss" on repeat), to the point that the game probably would have been better off not trying to have a story at all, and the difficulty is so low across the board that it drowns out how fun the movement and combat feels in a vacuum. If there's no challenge built in to the game, there's no fun in overcoming the bosses. Often, the worlds themselves are more dangerous than the bosses. It kills the game for me. I WANT to love the game so much, but after the first playthrough, I just can't. Mods don't really fundamentally change the things that need to change. FU is HUGE, and the game is still a total joke so it doesn't improve it for me. Terraria is the better game because it gives you a REASON to care about your power progression, since the bosses are actually challenging, and if they're not, there are difficulty settings to make them be. Artificially limiting gear/health/whatever via mods or just manually gimping yourself doesn't really fix this for Starbound.

Story telling in this video was amazing! putting chapter 11 where it is rather than at the start is something I'm not sure many youtubers would think to do

My god finding you feels like finding a burried treasure! Amaaaaaaaazing video! Incredible editing! Fantastic job mate! Hope to see more of you from now on!!
I came in thinking this would just be a fun explanatory video, but the music selection, the narration and the editing absolutely blew me away. Really really well done mate!
Just discovered this channel, and I gotta say this was a great first impression. I really appreciate that you actually tell us what the music playing is, as so many other channels I watch don't even credit the music they use in the description, let alone within the video itself. I look forward to more content!
I'm wondering how I got this video in my recommendations, I'm pretty sure it's because of the Touhou. But oh boy, I love this guy's editing. I haven't played starbound in about a year, this game is great and I love the challenge. The solution at the beginning is creative, probably the only thing you had to think really hard about. And the editing, it's very grand and it definitely fits my personal requirements. Altogether, I love this video.
Oh my god, when ever you play music you list it on screen, then you show the credits at the end (something UA-camrs should do given how much stuff they use), and then you also show the music credits in the description. Thank you so much. I once spent hours trying to figure out the source on a song in a UA-cam video
I'm not sure why UA-cam recommended this to me but this is precisely the kind of content I was looking for, the kind where I can watch someone struggle with a challenge I would never attempt myself.
I really wish starbound got more recognition. I always loved this game and felt it deserved a similar level of popularity as terraria and Minecraft. Glad to see people still playing it.
I love how this video is done. I love how music just "suits" the moment - especially upon the ropes movement discovery. I've never played the game, but now I wish I could - seems fun to play. In other words, great job! I'm pretty sure this is the point where you'll start to heavily rise in sub count, so... good luck!
Incredible vid my dude! Always love to see Starbound getting some love on this platform. The twist near the end caught me mega off guard, but it's right; when people watch these, nobody cares if you can or can't, otherwise videos would be like 2 seconds of "yes" or "no", but *how* it's accomplished is always the fascinating part. also lmao grappling hook
Oh BROTHER how come your channel is so unfairly small for content of this quality! Now I wanna play starbound again and everything! Its really incredible, even more so coming from a video. Great job!
Love the video, thought of doing this challenge myself (since I wasn't able to think of anything else) and am happy to see that someone else has already done it, also love the music selection and the overall structure of the video! Keep it up. 15:18 And also, yes, Big ape is just a touhou boss in an ape costume. the music for that scene is also just perfect
I really enjoyed Starbound. Much more than I enjoyed Terraria. If Chucklefish didn't treat it's employees horribly, and Starbound got the development it deserved it would be so much better. I would be so glad if a Starbound sequel was released.
wow first time seeing one of your videos and the dedication and work put into them i swear this has to be one of the most underrated channels out there i hope your channel goes well good luck brother
Like many others have noted; this is a really well made video and did a great job at capturing the pacing and general style of other well made challenge videos while still having unique humour in little editing details (something that always makes a video better in my opinon!) With that praise, I'll also mirror the most common criticism you're getting--absolutely not to harp on about something you clearly have already noted and are likely intending to rectify. I will say though, audio mixing is absolutely something that gets forgotten about, one part because when it's good you don't notice it at all, and it's also incredibly arbitrary and difficult to get right the first time around. You might very well be more learned in audio mixing than me--which, fair enough--but I did do a unit of Audio Production & Design in University, and it taught me quite a few things as well as my way around Adobe Audition (which is genuinely pretty awesome if you have access to it and it meshes with your workflow). Audio mixing for UA-cam is kinda... well, funky. A lot of mixing is really more based on industry wide standardisation where, and forgive me for potentially incorrect numbers, the usual targets are voice tracks being around -10db, where music might hit -5db when not competing with vocals (think a massive orchestral swell for an emotional moment in a movie, etc). Couldn't honestly tell you an exact number for music underlying vocals, but clarity is incredibly important in a video as information-dense as one like this. I suspect you may have potentially been trying to cover up some persistent background noise in your vocals/vocals quality with the volume of the music, which I might just be thinking because it's what I did once upon a time, but I'd reccomend checking out some videos on producing super clean vocal tracks (normalisation, removing background noise, compression, all that good stuff). It makes vocals so much easier to mix, gawd dayum. Generally, sound mixing can be really hard because, when listening to your own video, on your own system, with your own headphones, it'll almost always sound vastly different than on another whole system. So partly you mix audio by ear, and partly by standard, but ideally a viewer should be able to go from one video to the next on youtube, and not need to bump up or down the volume--having it all fit in the same general guidelines for volume levels--while still having a unique/interesting audio mixing style. That's clearly not always the case, but it's good to keep in mind. Other than than the music mixing, there was also the few instances where you had vocals tied to the gameplay happening on screen, and the narration vocals over top, and that was also in need of the same treatment in mixing. In the end, despite how much I managed to write on it, this was actually a rather minor 'misstep', and only stood out to me at all because of how well produced the rest of the video was made. With just a slight bit of tweaking of audio levels, your video would essentially be critiqueless from my positon. Maybe some script writing/presentation things? But that's just a matter of you doing it more, and it's not like it was horrendous. Quite the opposite, really. Take the massive paragraph as more of a discussion of the topic, rather than criticism. It's mostly half-rememberd stuff that I learnt ages ago now, and still dust off to use every now and then! Excited to see more from you in the future, if this video was anything to go by, Thanks for the entertainment!
i certainly am not more well learned in audio mixing, so thanks for the information! most of the music is set to -8db, which works alright for starbound's ost, but it made everything else a tad too loud. it's an oversight - not a bad cover-up for background noise.
@@CptFreefall Fair enough. Probably somethin' to do with the starbound music being pretty chill, so your voice is still really clear because it's not being eaten like with the super 'dense' music. I think lol. Either way, good to hear you're on top of it; it's a pretty simple fix once you're aware of it, and past that it gets into detailed artistry which you seem a fan of in your editing anyway. Have a good one! :)

I've been using that strategy on moontants for the longest time. It's actually better to use a dart for the second hit, it's generally less of a waste of spears.

your taste in music is sh- really good and appreciate how well done the video is should get more views Also love touhou and that koishi caught me off gaurd
the rope movement works because of circle geometry, if you put the hook above your character, the length of the rope becomes a radius. this means that the same length of rope for the y-axis plain as the hook is a little further back than the current ground level position. This means that when you jump, you can reel in some of the rope making a shorter total length of the radius and swinging with the little amount that you shortened.
Love this video and the editing! Fooled me into thinking you were someone i was already subscribed to because it was just great! Can't wait to see how far this pushes your channel and hopefully it's more motivating than stressful. You're doing great ^^

This is a really well made video, I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers. I love the comedic editing especially. Otherwise, it seems really good! I subscribed.

Altogether, I love this video.
plays Starbound and makes touhou references i might have found the world's best channel
I have very very little knowledge of starbound, but this video was very entertaining, the editing was amazing and the music was phenomenal!
Your talent in writing is to the point that i got emoitonal about a challenge run in a game i dont play. i am extremely impressed
Oh BROTHER how come your channel is so unfairly small for content of this quality! Now I wanna play starbound again and everything! Its really incredible, even more so coming from a video. Great job!
I haven't seen this game in such a long time, but it's a childhood favorite of mine! Thanks for showing up on my recommended!!
Childhood? Starbound's not that old-- *Early access since 2013*
Nearly ten years ago, good lord
This is so incredibly well edited and put together. Bravo!!
Dude, your editing is seriously impressive! You deserve every like and sub you get and then some!
I really enjoyed Starbound. Much more than I enjoyed Terraria. If Chucklefish didn't treat it's employees horribly, and Starbound got the development it deserved it would be so much better.
I would be so glad if a Starbound sequel was released.
wow first time seeing one of your videos and the dedication and work put into them
i swear this has to be one of the most underrated channels out there
i hope your channel goes well good luck brother
Like many others have noted; this is a really well made video and did a great job at capturing the pacing and general style of other well made challenge videos while still having unique humour in little editing details (something that always makes a video better in my opinon!)
With that praise, I'll also mirror the most common criticism you're getting--absolutely not to harp on about something you clearly have already noted and are likely intending to rectify.
Excited to see more from you in the future, if this video was anything to go by,
Thanks for the entertainment!
i certainly am not more well learned in audio mixing, so thanks for the information!
most of the music is set to -8db, which works alright for starbound's ost, but it made everything else a tad too loud. it's an oversight - not a bad cover-up for background noise.
Music: AMAZING
Editing: AMAZING
Concept: AMAZING
Whole video itself: FAN-FLIPPING-TASTIC!!!
Please continue to make videos like this! You're amazing!!!
Chapters, music credits, starbound, you couldn’t do anything better. Great video!!!!
What a fantastic video! I'm not sure what the algorithm of UA-cam has been up to, but it sure lead me to a fun and wild ride, and I'm so glad it lead me to your channel! Starbound is far from perfect, but to see someone innovate a challenge in 2022 surrounding such a trendy gaming topic right now is super awesome! Hope to see more of your videos in the future!
Would love to actually watch a stream of this kind of playthroughs. Thank you so so SO MUCH for the captions btw. More people need to find you, like seriously.
Just finding your channel for the first time and I have to say I am absolutely astonished by the absolute quality of this video
you did an amazing job
Definitely going to keep a watch on your channel!
Wonderful editing and never feels like the pacing is too fast or slow!
A great choice of music as well, always lovely to see a content character who enjoys Touhou Project OST's and arranges!
Incredibly well made. Awesome to see Starbound content on UA-cam. I have the footage of myself getting all the way to the ruin without mining or placing anything and this inspires me. Maybe I'll finish that
subbed for the fact that you're making starbound content in 2022. You're doing gods work keep on keeping on
You put the titles of the songs you're using on the screen the moment they start playing. That alone makes you better than at least 95% of other youtubers. Please, never change in that aspect
Every single thing about you and your channel is the definition of incredible and underrated.
THIS IS FANTASTIC CONTENT and your taste in music is lovely!
Amazing video! Quality beats many top youtubers
god fucking DAMN this shit's underrated, the narration, the editing, the twists and turns, the storyline.
This is the first video of yours that I've seen, but it certainly isn't going to be the last one. Thank you very much for some high quality content :)
not gonna lie, the twist at chapter eleven got me emotional, this was such a great video and message, i hope u get recognized more! 💚
awesome editing! kinda hard to hear your voice at times but still. wasnt expecting the reveal at the end lol
Fantastic video. I first played Starbound years ago, and I still play Starbound to this day, so it’s nice to see it receive some love. Well done, a fantastic journey. Consider me subscribed. :)
I love the editing and effort put into this video, I'm looking forward to more
This is actually really funny, and the editing is really good too! Honestly, I wish I could do more than like and subscribe.
Love the deconstruction planner from Factorio at 0:48
Awesome video! I'd love to see more Starbound content in the future!
the editing of that flowering nights grind montage was gorgeous
This is a lovely video! Edit and music is amazing, content is awesome and your jokes are top notch! But…. When you did some onscreen mining did you not walk around? Like I even slowed the video down and it looked like it. Wether you did or not I don’t much mind, it was still a fun video!
i didn't walk during that section, but when you speed up video by over 10000%, it might look like it. i guess there is a legitimate reason most creators do their grinding off camera!
Why did chapter eleven make me almost tear up?? Really amazing editing. I haven't played Starbound in SO long but this video reminded me why it's still technically my most played game on Steam despite not touching it for years. I might have to change that soon. Cheers!
Glad this showed up in my recommended because this video's so good!
this is such a well produced and passionate video! I absolutely love this, and I appreciate how much effort you put into it, going so far as to include closed captions for people (like myself) who prefer having clear subtitles.
You deserve so much more praise and recognition, hopefully this comment helps out on some of that UA-cam Algorithm™stuff
I've never thought someone would actually try this challenge. Great video!
when i was watching your video did not even noticed your subs count but that top editing I was assume a big subs but when I see not even 1k, i say this man deserves a shield! just take it! you deserve it!
wow, i stumbled upon this video and thought you must have well over 100k subs given how well edited your content is! seriously, hats off to you
I've been using that strategy on moontants for the longest time. It's actually better to use a dart for the second hit, it's generally less of a waste of spears.
I really like how you credit music in the bottom left as you use it. This looks like a great channel, keep it up!
Ah, yeah, that's about how I thought the beginning would go. Unfortunate. But it's cool that you can accomplish so much along the way, and this is truly a triumph. Well done!
your taste in music is sh-
really good and appreciate how well done the video is should get more views
Also love touhou and that koishi caught me off gaurd
wow major props for making me pause and ask "Is that a HertzDevil arrange??"
This channel is sooo underrated!
I really love this video and hope that you do more "Can you beat" Challenges!
This is soo well made, you deserve the views and would deserve just as much love and upvotes imo, I did really enjoy the video!
Holy shit that scripting and editing is fire. Can't believe you haven't gotten more attention. Also respect on having that much patience and skill.
I have a habit of finding hidden gems on youtube and i could not be happier about it, Sub well earned!
This video's production quality is crazy. Nice job.
the rope movement works because of circle geometry, if you put the hook above your character, the length of the rope becomes a radius. this means that the same length of rope for the y-axis plain as the hook is a little further back than the current ground level position. This means that when you jump, you can reel in some of the rope making a shorter total length of the radius and swinging with the little amount that you shortened.
That was fantastic! I can't wait for more from you!
Good to know people still make Starbound content for UA-cam.
Love this video and the editing!
Fooled me into thinking you were someone i was already subscribed to because it was just great!
Can't wait to see how far this pushes your channel and hopefully it's more motivating than stressful. You're doing great ^^
Editing is outstanding
Instant subscribe the level of effort and Quality made me shocked when I saw the subscriber count. You are so unrated, your videos are amazing keep it up
Wow, only after watching the video and checking your subscriber count I realized how underrated you are.
Hope your channel really takes off, because that’s some advanced editing right there!
Wishing you the best of luck :)
This is a really well made video, I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers. I love the comedic editing especially.
If I had to say one thing, it's that the audio leveling could use some work, because sometimes the video is either too quiet or too loud, and I had to keep changing the volume.
Otherwise, it seems really good! I subscribed.
I loved this video, I love starbound and enjoyed hearing about your endeavors on taking on this challenge!
dude you have the best editing style for this type of content!!! Its amazing!!!
wow, what a great video
i am not good into expressing myself, how much i like something
i hope a simple "hey this is cool, keep doing what you're doing" is enough
I really like your commentary and editing style, also huge congrats on (nearly) beating the game without moving xD
God damn the editing on this is phenomenal. Amazing job, this is hella entertaining for a slow paced challenge.
Also based Touhou music choices
Damn am I thrilled this particular vid got picked by the algorithm to bring your channel to me!! This video is stellar *cough* and I can't wait for whatever else you make!
The ending made me cry. Beautiful.
small channel ive never heard of? very good editing? touhou fan? challenge videos? sold!
