I love this thing. One thing that I use it for is to start campfires quicker. The only possible problem is if I leave it on next to the campfire for too long, the flames will get too hot. A campfire with light yellow and blue flames may look cool, but it burns through wood way too fast.
Was nice that they didn't polarize the AC plug so that you have to make sure you plug it in correctly... nice review. Planning to pick this up in the current Home Depot deal, with TWO 3 amp batteries, charger, and fan for $99 to use in my camper van conversion for overnight air circulation since I have an AC inverter off the engine alternator where I can charge it while driving.
Also on the hook you have a hole so you can put a screw in the wall and hang it in that hole. Also the end of the legs have little hooks that I believe will hook onto a garage door rail,.
Ryobi are actually trail blazers, and their 18v battery products have gotten much much better...i have 4 of thes fans, one i use in the pilpit while i preach, another i carry wit me to job sites (bc i sweat a lot) 2 mounted in my tool trailers .
LOL I got this fan for "free". Glad I chose this. Basically the Home Depot has a sale that if you buy a kit with two high output batteries you get a free tool. There was many options to choose from. Since summer is around the corner I chose the fan. If you read this take advantage of that sale.
I have all milwaukee tools but seeing the low price and the excepional quality of ryobi makes me want to get a few of their accesory items such as the fan and mini 18v bluetooth radio. Wish milwaukee had a mini 18v radio with bluetooth and wish their fan was cheaper

I also bought a 2 pack of 4.0 batteries all brand new for 99.99 can. And bought a brand new charger for 25$ brand new from a guy right around the corner from me

Great. Good. But what type screwdriver do I use to take off the faceplate for cleaning? A fan collects dirt, dust, hair, and general debris very quickly on the blades and grills, and once there, the fan no longer moves air. So, the faceplate has to come off for cleaning. WHY ISN'T THIS EASY? Why not just a basic #2 phillips? But no, and I have no idea what the form factor is, as the screw head are so deeply buried in the plastic you can't see the heads. I have literally hundreds of various screwdrivers, torx, phillips, square head, etc. Which one?
Pr Katz Well.....the blades are not a "serviceable item" and I would assume that they designed it this way to prevent people from taking the cover off, hurting themselves, and then suing them. Personally I would not remove it, but instead would either use an air compressor or a can of compressed air to blow out the dirt/hair on the blades. If this is inside, you would be better off removing the source of the problem (i.e. --- if you have pets, dont sit it on the floor where they are going to constantly shed). We have been using this one for a year now & have had no issues with it, and it still looks clean.
Thanks RTR. Yeah, I came to the same conclusion, and next time I fire up the compressor, I'll give it a good cleaning. The thing is, I have huge air movers - industrial - for around the shop when I have to air the room out NOW, and they all have good secure covers that are easily removable in order to clean the blades, as they tend to grab and hold the debris. Many residential stand fans come with simple push latches so the front cover can be removed for cleaning. It's the only thing I wish they'd change on this fan. Anyway, thanks for your reviews. They are very informative and well done.

cool Little unit but like the newer radios and the hybrid spotlight if they was to move that plug so the battery is not covering it up it could be a charger for your battery as well. seems like a kind of shiting move on Ryobi Part. because they would not sell so many battery chargers if they did it that way
They are starting to put "slow chargers" in some of their devices, such as lights and their newest vac. Maybe it will trickle into their other devices too! Look up "EverCharge".
interested in this fan thought I might need it for my mini van, after seeing this video, the fan isn't that much different from my homenade one. i use 120mm PC fan it uses a 12v power drill battery that's for wireless, and 9v power cord for wall. and really quiet as well, I also put a pwm for speed control. anyways if anyone here wants to make one I'd be glad to help.

Vegard Bell it'll blow up or break cus dust is flammable. Also get gunked up from it. Just get a vacuum bro, they're specifically made for dust removal, and have safety features. Look up old vacuum fires or fan fires.
Funny you should ask, I wanted to know the same thing. I measured mine at 6 watts on low, 15 on high, using a Kill-a-Watt meter. This wattage seems to me to be very efficient for a fan of this size.
Cleaning blades thoroughly,wiping occasionally is better than just blowing dust often witn a compressor nozel,is a concern but I am more interested in the CFM both on high and low setting. I have found zero CFM info on it and that leads me think that spec is probably poor and has so far prevented me from buying one.
For the money, you will not find a better deal on a hybrid fan......my dad uses this unit daily for up to 8+ hours at a time in his workshop & it is still going strong after 2-1/2 years of constant use. The fan that I like the best is the RIDGID 18v Hybrid version......it is the quietest on the market & has a variable speed dial.
Yeah the $40 regular price tag seems like a great deal to me.....and especially if you already own any other Ryobi ONE+ tools, you wouldnt even have to buy batteries or a charger.
I just bought two and found a really annoying problem. When on the high setting it is not maintaining the angle I set. The fan angles slowly rotates upward. I will contact Ryobi.
So the most important question regarding this is how long will it run with various amp hour batteries and your answer is "something you heard"? What's the purpose of watching your videos? Terrible teview.
I've had one of these for a few months. Great little fan. With the new 6amp battery, this little guy will run for almost 3 days.

Just to add: When using a 1.3 ah it runs a little over 2 hours on high and 5 hours on low.

I did the same thing. I'm happy with fan. I now need to find an extension cord that has single female end. Every cord I have had multiple outlets.
