The rear fenders aren’t a problem with your copy. You just gotta fiddle with them before you tab them in. So use the ball joint they’re on before they are tabbed in. I was wondering why it wasn’t going perfect either, but I was eventually able to get it in there

RotF Sideswipe is one of the first transformers figure I ever got so I'll definitely be getting this guy.

Paint and car are 10x better but the lack or backpack on DotM makes me think both are great for different reasons.

If only Hasbro used the side-arm sideswipe transformation as the base for SS Sideswipe. Maybe he would have had less kible.
You know, if you give them each some red and yellow highlights, you can easily make a custom sunstreaker out of the convertable.
On accidentally I got two so I made a custom Sunstreaker too.

Picked this guy up at Wal-Mart last week, after seeing him for a while and finally deciding to grab him. Mine doesn't have the gap but his front tires are a little tight, and I prefer to store the guns as his exhaust pipes because I have trouble transforming him with the guns on his back? Good toy, good video, good job Emgo.

Not too bad! I picked him up recently after telling myself I wouldn’t. The new paint apps are better, not to mention the DotM one has a weird crack or molding on his chest. The backpack isn’t so bad ether.
RotF Sideswipe is always “cutting” to the chase. Not sorry

I own a VERY defective version of this guy. The head is so loose it doesn’t even stay on, and one of the screws on his left leg is installed incorrectly, making transformation VERY difficult. I don’t touch him much because I leave him on the shelf on an angle allowing his head to not fall. Fresh from an official hasbro order, too. Idk what went wrong with this one lol. Still fond of it.
After seeing Sideswipe in ROTF and DOTM, I was always hoping for Sunstreaker to show up... oh well.
He looks like he's underneath the car trying to do a pull up.
I recently got this figure and the pin on one of the wheels won't let the wheel spin freely, any way to solve this?

Does anyone else have the issue where the front wheels just dont roll? i can never figure out why they feel like theyre way to tight but the tab of the foot joint also seems to keep them from touching the ground
Just got this guy today and I absolutely love him
man i remember owning the entire line of studio series transformers as a kid, man i was spoiled af… i still miss them but they went missing during a move along with Cars movie die casts, my legos, marvel figurines (iron man movies and hulk sets), and train sets.
Was initially gonna track down the DOTM version, but after seeing this version I’ve changed my mind.

Also, the Red Lambo is always gonna be Sideswipe to me. At least I could repaint him in G1 colours.

I remember owning the RoTF recolor of Sideswipe that was named Swerve and alsays having issues posing him due to his feet and the mech tech he supposedly had
Im really sorry to be "that guy" but mech tech was the dotm gimmick, rotf was called mech-alive
omg I didn't know you could store the guns in the hood! I've been doing the DOTM storage method of plugging it on the hands. I think the chest panels just don't tab in as well due to mold degradation
I thought that too but the ball joints are just too stiff. Put him back in robot mode and extend,flex and twist the chest pieces around a bit and they fit perfectly in vehicle mode thereafter.

I think him having bits that won't connect together in vehicle mode is all figure, I got one yesterday (nz), and yeah I can't get back bits to tab in either or little bit at the front

I'm glad I'm watching this since I wasn't considering trying to get sideswipe since I preferred the G1 Version better but he does look amazing

I had a sidearm sideswipe what had red decals on the front. It’s such a different mold to the rest of the sideswipe line but it’s also my favourite out of them all

the rear fenders of mine popped off at the ball joints, and im having a LOT of trouble putting them back in. any advice? also, mine's right arm isnt molded correctly and doesnt hold a pose except for if its straight
@Stix N' Stones nothing a bit of heat couldnt fix! a convection toaster oven makes a good stand-in when you dont have a hairdryer!

I'm still sad that my ROTF sideswipe is kinda busted because the little rubber veins they use for his hip joints got torn up after some time :( Been meaning to get another ROTF-looking sideswipe but man these new figures are so expensive for their size..

@Stix N' Stones i don't know, while this concept model had that cool factor, I'm not mad about the Corvette Stingray we ended up with. Especially having been in a few, they really are nice cars.
Gap issues aside, I do like this version of the Corvette than the non roof DOTM version.

even if I still dislike the new direction, I still gotta give you props emgo, still the best reviewer in youtube in terms of getting things on time, transforming them correctly, and actually having the camera close enough to see things. Still don't know how other reviewers don't get that last part

Mine has the same issue with the rear sections not sitting flush, pretty annoying. Glad to see I’m not the only one with that problem lol.
Some in the comments have a solution for that.

I like the vehicle mode on the dotm sideswipe but I like the robot mode on the rotf sideswipe. Wish there was a way to just swap the car parts from the dotm figure onto the rotf figure because that would just be perfect

Is this better or worse than corvette assassin? I'm sort of torn on which one I should get.
Corvette assassin is basically a Black Mamba ripoff. IMO it looks way better. And is a very fun transformation. Easy to remember and more fun. Better quality than Hasbro. Better looking backpack too
I believe the upgrade kit is over 30 dollars
Not a huge of the Bay designs so I was quite apathetic towards this one. Travelled some distance to a shop that sells TF figures and everything there I already have so I picked this guy up rather than go home empty-handed. Gonna have a play with him now.

They've fixed the problem the first Sideswipe had with his front wheels; one of them didn't spin as freely as the other. This one doesn't appear to be encumbered by such an issue.

Emgo, the guns go on the back. They are the mufflers. They go next to each back tire. The head is between the guns.
That is true for the DOTM Sideswipe, not this version.

dont worry guys ill be damn good when I get this but if my copy is like Emgos then that mite be a turn off for me. Im pretty sure most people will agree with me on this: To me the vehicle mode is one of the most important parts for a transformers toy ( SS Dino is ok. If they did get the license for the car mode then im pretty sure the toy would cost way more that an average deluxe) because it completes the toy if the vehicle mode looks like crap then theres no point in buying it (same with the robot mode lookin at u Armada Sideswipe) I still want this toy though

You'll never see this transformer the same again look at the center of his chest it looks like he's carrying a little baby in a baby harness on his chest there's the forehead there's the baby harness below it and even almost looks like it has eyes

This Revenge of the Fallen version of Sideswipe must better than Dark of the Moon version because this version has included the dark wash colouration ☺️. But, when compared with previous version, that colouration at Dark of the Moon version of Sideswipe is look like boring 😒 and plus look like milk to me 🙁. Cool review EmGo's 😄.
