- John the Baptist openly condemns Herod Antipas for his adultery with Herodias, his brother, Philip's, wife.
Herod has him arrested, but not executed for fear of the people. He doesn't want to make him a martyr.
However, when his niece danced seductively for him, he offers her any prize she wishes -- and her mother (Herodias) asks for John's head on a silver platter.
Jesus' disciples bring him the body, and they head out into the mountains in the north-eastern wilderness around Galilee.
But the crowsd follow him -- and he heals and ministers to them.
Afterwardes, Jesus sends his disciples across the lake on their boat without him. When a great storm comes up, they see Jesus walking towards them on the water.
Peter impulsively demands, 'If it is really you, command me to come and walk on the water with you," which Jesus does.
Once Jesus and Peter are in the boat, the storm subsides -- and they minister to those people in the Gennesaret region.
