I'm Indigenous Australian and I've been looking at video's for most of the afternoon on how to personalise my denim jacket with our material that I have here and now from watching your idea I'll do something similar, thank you, your jacket looks really great 👍🏽 🥰
Awesome , youre welcome !
Very very good instructions
Great , thanks for watching
your voice is so soothing and your creativity off the charts! excited to begin upcycling asap
Karina, thank you… it’s so much fun and the possibilities are endless.
This ifs exactly what I want to do. This method allows me to sew it and not permanently glue the fabric because I want to be able to switch up my fabric design if I choose to. Straight to the point and simple.❤
Glad I could help
Love this ❤
Thank you
Love your process. It is how my brain works too. Your voice is soooo soothing
Thanks for watching
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, skill and creativity!
And Thank you for watching
Beautiful...and you do an excellent tutorial! Very clear and detailed.....and I could listen to your voice all day long! Thank you Risa for a great idea. New subbie who will be watching your channel.
You are so welcome!
Love this Risa, I want to start with a fabric panel then paint over part of it! Thank you for sharing.
I’m glad you like it, please share your finished piece . I’d love to see it!
❤ I have some clothes from my mom who passed away in 2021 and I didn't know what to do with it. It's not my style and I didn't want to give them away but I also felt it should not be sitting in a cupboard wasting away and this is such a great idea thank you so much can't wait to get started thanks for the idea ❤❤❤❤ sending you tons of love from South Africa 🇿🇦
That would be a wonderful keepsake ❤️
I would add some to the cuffs as well that’s my plan for mine. Lovely tutorial ❤
Yes that’s a great idea, draw some of that color to the front of the jacket.
You are a creative genius, I luv it great instruction video 💖
Gee thanks!
Now I know what to do with my one yard Ankara fabric, thanks SIS🤗🤗💜
Yay , you’re welcome
Love it!!!
Thank you ☺️
Lovely tutorial. Off to raid my wardrobe and stash. Thank you 🌺
Great!!!
Je viens de finir ma customisation😊😊
Mahalo for sharing 🤙🏻
My pleasure!!
Nicely done. I don;t understand some of those sewing terms. lol But I love the end result. Could you do a video on basic sewing terms?
Thank you... that’s a great idea, will do.
Well done 👍👍
Thank you!
Wow! You made that so simple, with clear instructions! My niece's birthday is this week and I bought a denim jacket to do this with.
What if I don't have the thin foot piece that you have?
And what stitch do you use? Straight?
Thank you so much! 💓

If you don’t have a narrow foot just use what you have and shift your needle as far to the right as possible . Thanks for watching and subscribing. ☺️
Can you use interfacing for this project? This is perfection!
Yes you can! If your fabric is thin and needs the extra support.
I’d really like to know about your machine! I have a juki - love it - in my arsenal of machines, but I’m intrigued by the industrial.
Janna , I love my Industrial. I use it more than my other machines. The way it was explained to me is that the home machines are good for making on average 1 dress a week, and the industrial is made for all day everyday use. I’ve had this for 11 - 12 years and never had a problem.
Very created.
Thanks 😊
I’ve been wondering how to do the panels and now I know! Thanks!
Question: have you ever used heat n’ bond lite to secure the fabric to the denim to eliminate slippage?
René glad I could help. No I’ve never tried that but I definitely will! Thanks
Did you ever try using the HnB? I saw that question from a couple of years ago & was wondering the same.
@@patsyspencer4746 I don’t remember! Lol! I did upcycle a denim jacket with several cotton fabric Dia de Los Muertos print “patches” of fabric and I think I used HnB Lite, but I don’t remember for sure. I sold the jacket to a friend in another state so I can’t check to see what I did. I know I also stitched around the edges. I do use HnB Lite for other fabric appliqué, including a recent one wear the fabric for a Christmas banner and all the appliqués are soft wool - including some hand dyed wools that were all a part of a kit. The LITE version of HnB is important since it will be finished with stitching.
Thank you!@@renekelley9092
You mentioned that you've done other items....a) I would love to see your beautiful creativiness b)have you ever done a something like a winter jacket where it is more boxy, bulky and not really have any distinct panels (I think that is what the sections are called) that the jean jacket? I have the ugliest winter jacket but the warmest!!! I would love to not look like a gray blob! Thanks! Thank you for sharing your wisdom and love!
Sarah thank you for your kind words … I do have an Instagram page … line below. I have done a long jacket that had no panels but I don’t know if there are any pics of that. I think that would be nice to elevate you gray jacket and you can be very creative are do abstract shapes .
