Nice! I too really like the Fender. I think I prefer that slightly rolled off highs that it has compared to the Vahlbruch. And with the additional tone control I would assume one could sculpt the sound more.
They sound pretty different to me. I prefer the Vahlbruch, because it’s more feisty, if you know what I mean. The Fender is good, more mellow or more low end, maybe. But the Vahlbruch seems clearer and punchier, maybe it’s just that it has more highs. Also kind of hits hard when you pick the strings. Especially on low and mid gain, that’s my pick. I’ve never tried an Octave fuzz. Sounded cool!
Fender has always made great amps and guitars, so why not something as simple as a pedal? I've played a few Fender pedals and they were all really good.
I have been looking for a simple octave up fuzz, I will give the Fender a try for sure. I have been using the EQD Bit Commander as an octave fuzz for awhile it’s cool.
If they were of the same value the choice would be in favour of the Valbruch (what a name!!! even if you didn't know what it was you could suppose that is a german germanium fuzz). It messes it up a bit with the dialings all the way up (yet again with humbuckers) but this it's never too much of a problem to lower them a bit.
They both sound great but when cranked, the fender is like the well-behaved cousin that has all A's and thinks about becoming a data analyst. The octavia has seen some dark stuff and had to grow tougher with each chord played...

Yeah the Fender is a very cool fuzz. My favorite is the Vahlbruch, but each their own. ;)

the hammertone series is surprisingly good. all the pedals in that series.

I kinda like the fender.
At this price point, the Fender is a no-brainer.

i guess they would have named it Valhalla if there wasn't one already (please don't take it seriously german friends i'm just kidding)
Vahlbruch makes insanely good pedals. Never ever played a bad one.
Like Octavia velcro sound!
Yeah, it's a fantastic sound!
Gotta go with the Fender. You make it sound good!
That pedal sounds good on it's own. It doesn't need me lol
Fender for me on this one! Lots of definition.
It's a cool pedal, huh?
No suena nada mal

Very interesting way of putting it. :)
