  • In this episode of Trauma in a Flash, Dr. Sucher covers open-book pelvic fractures that commonly occur due to high-energy mechanisms such as a fall or motor vehicle accident. He advises that most pelvic fractures are not identifiable during a physical exam, but there are some external symptoms. He demonstrates two techniques to properly close an open book pelvic fracture.
