    After hearing you're in Vermont, I had to comment since I am also from Vermont, but not living there anymore. Thanks for the review on both of these brands! I was leaning more towards the Xero brand shoes even before learning from your video that Xero has a wider toe box than the Vivobarefoot shoes. Makes me feel better about my first purchase of zero drop and barefoot shoes being Xero. After having and still having Plantar fasciitis, I was going to buy Hoka's, but after doing some more research into type of shoes and brands I learned about zero drop and barefoot shoes. Great video!

      You're welcome! Check out guerrillazen fitness (Blake Bowman) on youtube. He's a good friend of mine and his videos will help you with your Plantar Fasciitis. Hope that helps! I am in Texas now, but originally from Michigan. I've also lived in Florida and Costa Rica. I've been around! Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for your comment. I prefer Xero shoes and after having about 3 or 4 pairs of each over the years I realized I was gravitating to Xero's more and more.

    As an older person in my 50s I appreciate Xero and their founder for having the conviction to put function first and doing what is right vs what might be more attractive to most buyers.

      I couldn't agree more. 10 years from now Xero shoes will be the Nike of footwear! I hope people get turned onto this brand because they're simply better.

    Thanks for making this video. I’ve been wanting vivo’s cuz they look cooler but I I’ll stick to Xero after watching this. Xero is starting to make their shoes look cooler now though. The nexus knit are cool looking.

      I've followed both brands for years and think both are great. Vivo's just don't feel as good as Xero's feel on the feet. And Xero has been improving their designs more and more in the past few years.

    Yeah, but they are all narrow outside of the toe box. Pretty close at 3.9-4.1 inches across the ball of the foot when measuring the insoles. I need 4.6, lol. Very few barefoot companies offer a wide let alone an extra wide last. Wide toe box, yes, wide last, not so much. Some smaller companies do though.
    I've got Xero Prio, Lems Boulder Boots Grip and Vivo Addis. None are really wide enough where they need to be for my feet. But that is something I have been dealing with for four decades outside of barefoot shoes. Conventional shoes have gotten better about offering EE/EEEE models now we need it with barefoot shoes. Barefoot shoes are weird in that they are often like a D at the midfoot and heel while being an E in the forefoot and toe box, if I had to put proportions to it. I need that 4E all around, lol.
    Anyway, it is always nice to see what someone else has to share! Thanks for posting.

      Of course, thanks for sharing your comments. I have Vivo's & Lem's also and Xero prio's at least definitely have a wider toe box. I am quite sure that Xero shoes has a wider toe box of these three brands overall. Maybe they'll make some extra wide toe box shoes soon. I think if enough people ask them they might, the founder of Xero shoes is pretty active with his community.

      Hmmm...I wonder if Ill have the same issue. My forefoot is 5 inches wide. If it is an issue I may need to stick to vibrams.

      @@hawaiian-cerveza That is a really wide foot! Good to know the Vibrams accommodate since I haven't tried any yet. I may have to get a pair.

      @@kitcraft9516 I tried on my prio suede and they fit if I tie them loosely but the rubber sole is a about 2 cm smaller then my forefoot😂. 1.5 cm of my foot spill over on the medial side and about .5 cm spill over on the lateral side. Its comfy but I think for training I may need to stick to vibrams lol. For walking the prios are ok. I went for about an hr walk and it felt ok.

      @@kitcraft9516 Yeah, I just got prio suedes today and tried them on. They're pretty comfy but my feet spill over the rubber sole about 1.5 cm on the medial side and .5cm on the lateral. I used them for an hour walk and they definitely feel like slightly wider shoes. I still feel like my Vibrams accommodate my feet better. It's too bad they don't make many shoes.

    What about durability? Which sole is harder wearing?

    • @rockstarreviewz
      @rockstarreviewz  3 місяці тому

      Great question! Xero shoes definitely last longer. More durable. They actually have a sole warranty they are so confident and they use Michelin rubber, yes, the same rubber used in car tires. My vivo's wear our faster for sure.. I pretty much stick exclusively to Xero shoes now.

    Vivobarefoot shoes are zero drop. It's one of their main tenets. The sole on that boot wraps up the sides and only has the appearance of a thicker heel.
    The shape/width differences are valid and I agree; people's feet vary, and wear what is shaped best for YOUR feet :~)

    • @rockstarreviewz
      @rockstarreviewz  3 місяці тому

      That may be one of their tenants, but I have probably 3 pairs of Vivo shoes now and 6 or 7 pairs of Xero shoes. Xero shoes maintain more of a true barefoot fit. Another thing I have noticed is that vivo shoes wear differently. They quite literally curl up and inward (into this 'design' they have) which doesn't allow for the true flat feet and barefoot mimicking nature of Xero shoes. My first job was in a shoe store and I am very particular about shoes, design, how they wear etc.. I am confident that Xero shoes are more of a true barefoot design. Additionally Xero shoes has a wider toe box overall. They're simply better designed.

      @@rockstarreviewz Yes, I'm not saying anything against any of that :~) I appreciate your first-hand experience and your take. I just wanted to correct the statement that Vivos have raised heels.

    • @rockstarreviewz
      @rockstarreviewz  3 місяці тому

      @@childcrone Based on my experience they have the slightest elevation in their heel. I could be wrong. Maybe it's just vivo's design in their barefoot shoes to look like there is a heel. Xero shoes is intentionally flat in their design which is evident, and I appreciate the more transparent Xero shoe, personally.

      I’m sorry but you are making stuff up. There is zero drop and the heel lift you are describing can only be in your head because it doesn’t exist. I get you prefer xero but don’t make stuff up to justify
