Generous over the top but that Suave Dancer was a very classy under rated horse, the horse displayed that turn of foot over 12F more than once so this was no fluke. Oddly didn’t show that sparkle in the Irish Derby but well and truly made up for it in this Arc. Pleasure to watch.

@Stephen Small yes I don’t think that was the full Suave Dancer there but there is merit in what you say also. Either way legendary horses.

Last two St Leger winners, an Oaks winner, two Epsom Derby winners in this renewal but it was Suave Dancer who followed up from Leopardstown. An Oaks winner did win this race twenty six years after this with Enable who then repeated the first victory.

Arguably his best call; the 1st Dubai World Cup was a great one as well; Derek Thompson called the next 3 or 4 DWC 's after that (97-2000) , his top being
the Silver Charm - Swain duel in 98 ; I personally think SD was an "all - time
      great " but given he didn't add more G1's & a top - end 4 Yr Old Campaign 2
his resume, I can understand why he may be downgraded a notch or two

@@csracingreport2024 before my time but I have been watching all the great races for over a decade now and I agree Suave Dancer is underrated, at least in general discussions he rarely gets mentioned, although a rating of 136 suggests the handicappers regarded him very highly. The 4L win in the Jockey Club over the following years Arc winner Subotica was particularly impressive. I think his record would look even better if he got fast ground more often. Came centering all over Generous in the Irish Derby and got out stayed, that was no disgrace considering what Generous did either side of that race in the Derby and King George. It's a shame he was finished by the time the Arc came round and I guess people don't give Suave Dancer the credit because of that, most people seem to think Generous was the best horse that year.

@@SumoCumLoudly Great points ; what happened 2 Generous was identical 2 what happened 2 TROY ; Triple Winner (Epsom, Irish Derby & KG VI &QE D
Stakes ) that failed 2 re-produce the magic in Paris ; I'm not sure if there's tape on TROY 2 pinpoint what
went down compared 2 Generous, who had an ideal run ; he may have "bounced "/ regressed, but facing
better opposition than what he crushed @ Ascot
didn't help matters ; Would have great if they could'
have matched up as 4 Yr Old's & toss in yr mention of Subotica ; It's a letdown when Top G1 stars retire
, but the stallion deals are so lucrative , it's 2 be expected..
