Thank you kindly Jeff, my grandfather used to play this game, at his big dining room table, on his own till late into the night or even morning...I am turning 52 in a few days time and the urge to play came on strong...and thanks to you this is now possible...thank you so much! Mark - Cape Town, South Africa.X.
Hi Mark, thanks for the comments. It was my grandfather that originally taught me how to play this game. Glad to hear I’ve reintroduced you to Patience, have fun!
Thankyou, just started playing this card game, thought I was useless, nowhere near getting a suit up the top. This showed me I am on the right track. So thank you. No you have rekindled my motivation to have another go.
Hi ya! It’s not easy to get all those cards to the top, but if it was too easy it would be boring and we’d soon lose interest. Keep trying and you’ll get there
Louise French Thank you for the kind comments. Couldn't agree more that to watch video instructions rather than read written instructions is certainly easier and less prone to misunderstanding
Great, I had a pack of cards I had bought as a souvenir from holiday, and i could only play snap (I'm 11 years old). I wanted to do something different so I searched up what card games to play on ur own and it said patience. This was the recommended video. And I would recommend this to beginners, it makes perfect sense. Thank you 😁
Oliver Desai Hi Oliver! I’m glad you found the video useful and thanks for the kind comments. I believe there are some other ‘play on your own’ card games, but patience is certainly the most popular. Hope you’ve managed to win the game! 😀
Jacqueline Bobcombe Hi ya! Thanks very much for your very kind comments, I’m pleased you find the video helpful. I hope you’ve managed to finish the game!
I am so excited as I always play Solitaire online and would love to play with a pack of cards. I really smiled while watching this video so thank you 🤗🤗
Hi Laura, Glad you liked the video and it brought a smile to your face. And you certainly can’t beat playing with a real pack of cards, make sure you shuffle them well first though, and have fun ♠️♣️♥️♦️
Never understood how to play this game but always wanted to try it ... watching your video made it so simple ... thank you so much for posting this on here 😜👍
Thankyou Jeff ! You’ve explained this is a friendly fun way that I can understand ! I looked it up because I’m in Covid iso for the 7 days and now have something else I am able to do 👍👍
Hi Jacqui. Many thanks for your kind comments. Sorry to hear you’ve got the dreaded covid, hope it’s not too bad for you and you get better soon. Happy Patience playing ♠️♣️♥️♦️
Ross Barker Hi Ross! Many thanks for your kind comments. I’m pleased you all found the video useful and hope you’ve managed to complete the game to it’s conclusion
Hi! Thanks for the clear explanation. I was taught this game by my grandad when I was young. I’ve tried playing it on my phone, but it doesn’t have the same tactile feel like it does when you play with the cards. :)
Absolutely agree with the comment about it’s not the same on a phone, you definitely need the cards. It often seems to be the grandad that teaches us the game, as mine did all those years ago. Thanks for your kind comments
Thanks for this, I'd forgotten how to play it, it's slightly different to the solitaire app I have, so glad I can now play out add my Dad and Grandmother used to play it
I know what you mean, similar to when doing a jigsaw. Looking forward to an evening with the latest puzzle you’ve been working on, sitting down and someone’s only gone and finished it
Artjoms Cistovs Hi there! Thank you for your very kind comment. I'm so pleased that you found the video useful and hope you continue to enjoy playing Patience
Super cat Lover Hey, thanks for the comment and thanks for following my channel. Well done in completing the game 3 times, which is no mean feat! But how games did you play before achieving this?
Great tutor haven't played since my teens. Like your accent sounds like west country edit just checked read it was Eastbourne you are from my guess was at least in the south
Jack Mills Hi ya! Thanks for your kind words. Indeed based in Eastbourne in the south east, lived here most of my life. Glad my video has allowed you to rediscover the game
thank you for the video!I am learning the fiction Mr.know all for the English class and what playing patience is actually annoys me.You tell me what the game is and I know the fiction better.thank you!
Cheers mate. I'd forgotten how to play and I'm trying to show my kids something to pass time when bored instead of the silly xbox. By the way, you sound a lot like John Pertwee.
Steven Harrison Thanks Steven and thanks for the very kind comments. There certainly are many different card games to pass away boring moments, certainly worth investing in a pack or two. I’ve never been told I sound like Mr Pertwee before, great actor!
Joshua Escalante Hi ya! To win the game all your cards need to end up in the four piles at the top, i.e. The piles that start with the aces at the bottom. It might look like an impossible task, but it can be done. Have fun!
Well this is weird it's definitely not how Ive been playing it all my life. This is probably the right way and I guess I've been cheating all life. I have no idea why you put aces up the top. Doesn't make any sense to me. Interesting to watch this but I'll be sticking to my way.
Hi Marilyn! Thanks for your comment. Very interesting to read that you play to different rules, I wouldn’t class it as cheating, just an alternative way of playing. Be interesting to know how your gameplay differs. The idea of putting the aces at the top is very important as it a) frees gaps to place cards from your stock pile of cards into the seven active stacks and b) is the ultimate aim of the game to have 4 piles of cards on the table all organised with an ace at the bottom and building up each pile, which must be of the same suite, in ascending order with the king at the top. How do you win with your version of the game?

Thanks for your kind comments. Think perhaps it’s a game often passed down the generations, my grandfather originally introduced me to patience.
Know one wants to play cards but when I start playing patience everyone wants to help

Is this the card game that Queen Elizabeth loved?
Hi ya! I have heard rumours that the late queen did enjoy this game, known as Patience in the UK, and Solitaire in the US
Wait how do you win ?
Joshua Escalante Hi ya! To win the game all your cards need to end up in the four piles at the top, i.e. The piles that start with the aces at the bottom. It might look like an impossible task, but it can be done. Have fun!
You have to get them in order ace bottom then count up 2 3 4 e.g. 10, king ,queen ,jack
thanx xx
Us Yanks call this game Solitaire. If you have a Windows based computer, you probably have it included as a free game.
