In this video I'll answer the question whether the Meta Glasses from Ray-Ban are worth it. I say "NO", but maybe "YES".
I've been using the Meta Ray-Ban glasses for about a month now and I have some thoughts about whether the Meta Ray-Ban are worth buying for the average consumer. These glasses combine Ray-Ban's iconic design with Meta's smart technology, offering a relatively seamless way to stay connected while on the go. Featuring dual 12 MP cameras, they allow users to capture high-quality photos and 1080p videos hands-free. Built-in open-ear audio provides immersive sound for music, calls, or voice commands, all while keeping your surroundings in earshot.
With Meta AI integration, the glasses respond to voice commands, making tasks like messaging or searching effortless. The companion app offers robust tools to manage your content and fine-tune settings, ensuring you get the most out of your glasses. Plus, they boast up to 4 hours of battery life on a full charge.
However, they’re not without potential issues. Privacy concerns are common due to the discreet camera placement, and some users report challenges with the glasses' weight during prolonged use. The price point may also feel steep for casual users. I'll go over the features of the Meta smart glasses and talk about why I don't think you should buy them, and why I think you possibly should.

Being able to capture memories of my daughter without having to take myself out of the moment by pulling out a phone is PRICELESS.
@@442caleb that’s something my wife brought up after I made this video. Definitely could be helpful for parents
Three glasses are totally worth it! Of course, they're not going to be as clear as a phone camera. The ability to take a quick shot is priceless. I was even able to capture someone mugging somebody in Lisbon Portugal. I would never have been able to do that by the time I pulled out my phone.
@@burndatl that’s a great point.
I bought mine in December of 2023. Never had a problem with them. The sound is amazing and quality of pics and videos are very clear. I thought the starting price was going to be at least $500, but it starts at $300. All the things you can do and qualify of sound and pics/vids the price is more than reasonable.
I don’t have to focus on my phone to make sure I’m aiming the “fireworks” and miss the actual fireworks. With these RB metas I can just enjoy looking at the fireworks rather than my phone.
I’ve been recommending them to everyone. Absolutely love them!
I've been rocking the Meta Ray-Bans for a few weeks now and loving them so far.
@@BarelyAverageDude glad you enjoy them!
Yes, they are worth it! For the normal average person... They are great! They're not meant to replace a photographer's equipment. I think the reviewer's expectations were too high.
Actually, the photos and videos are taken from the left side. The right side is just an LED light. I love my Ray-Ban Meta Smartglasses. Great video. Version 3 coming 2025. 2/9//2025 Ray-Ban will tell us more
@@chchudgens0 I am curious about what version 3 will be like
They are great! The bad the battery doesn't last that long. Also that they are part of FB. Wish they were just glasses you could use on FB not that they are controlled by FB.
Being English has very limited AI, videos don't play in the meta app but still I will keep them
1:29 not sure what you meant here, but the glasses only have 1 camera on the left side. The right side is just an LED and light sensor to make sure the LED isn't blocked.
Yeah, I'm thinking he is misinformed because the Meta's only have one camera, now the Ray Ban Stories have two cameras.
@@BarelyAverageDude am I mistaken? I’ll have to double check the photo camera angle on my glasses
@@calincharles it does do some cropping and horizon adjustments for pictures automatically, but it’s all 1 camera.
Cover the left side (your left when wearing them) and take a picture
Yes i have a black led stick on the led . And can still take photo n videos
@@TheMissjazzy1990 yeah if you cover the camera for a split second you can record with the LED blocked.
But we were talking about the fact that the glasses have 1 camera and not 2.
I think you are making the classic professional reviewer mistake, for the average person the pictures and videos are great, when I show videos people are amazed they come from my glasses, and these are people with iphones, also it's just easier to take quick shots or videos from them especially when I'm driving, lol. I take videos while holding my grandson with both hands, and pretty much anything i say "hey google", "hey siri" (i have both) for, saying "hey meta" gives me the answer, besides if you are using Bluetooth you can still use them, i think people forget that, also with the live translation they are even better and much better than the live translation on my galaxy buds 3 pros so yes I think they are worth buying. Oh if you need prescription lenses just buy the basic ones of the color and type of glasses you want and get the prescription afterwards it's much cheaper I ordered mine from Lensology with progressive (thin), transition and polarized for just over 200 they shipped them to me and i just popped them in. The only thing you'll be missing is the Ray-Ban logo on the lens. I know i said alot but I love my glasses.
I use them as Bluetooth headphones and yes I have the led cover so it doesn't show the led light
I'd have to agree as to Not to buy these. Photos and videos are below average to todays standards. And don't forget software compatibility issues were only select androids and iPhones are compatible with the meta app now after the update. I know this cause I had photos and videos from a trip that I could not retrieve and had to return to point of purchase to have them get photos for me. It worked find for 4months then no longer worked on my phone. I'm not buying a new phone just to use these, they sit in a drawer now, cause you can't even connect to laptop with them.
@@shawn6821 totally agree. For the average user, I’d say not worth it
Send me the invoice, I'll gladly get them off your hands. These will be perfect for capturing day to day life with my daughter, hands free. Thankssss
The glasses are lousy.
