I think there's a tendency to spend a lot in your twenties because making big amounts of money is a new feeling. Definitely agree that part of it has to do with status (even if you're doing it unconsciously). I don't buy new cars anymore such a waste to drive it off the lot and already have it depreciate! If I could go back I would have started investing money at an even earlier age.
I'm in my late 20s and started investing a couple years ago. Thankful my parents instilled that in me.

Agreed. My last two cars were lightly used and lasted years. Saved a ton of money too.
