    Buying liabilities instead of assets...that's my experience. Took a while to realize that I needed to do more with my money than just spend it on "stuff".

    I 100% agree that "looking the part" drains many people's finances. I know some very wealthy people and they tend to actually look "poorer". They care less about all of the material things.

    #6 I thought wash sale rule says you are NOT allowed to buy a similar stock?? 🤔

      @@michaelc1063 you can't buy back exactly the same stock you just sold. Similar stocks from the same sector are fine. For example if you sold Coca Cola, you can't rebuy Coca Cola until the 30 days is up. But you could buy Pepsi stock right away. It's not the same stock but in a similar sector 👍🏻

      Depends on the companies you deal with but most don't like the idea of you potentially walking away. As a result, they often are willing to offer deals to keep you as a customer 👍🏻

    These numbers seem way low. I suspect they're for middle-aged folks. Having $2.5M+ when you're > 75 doesn't seem like it'd be upper-upper class. For a 40 year old, it definitely would.

      That's a good point. This data comes from the Pew Research Center and as far as I know it was just based on net worth and age was not factored in.
