I also use Razer Stream Controller as a productivity tool. Worthy to mention - you can switch pages not only by assigning keypads with specific page but also by swiping finger from left to right. It also works for dial by swiping finger up and down on screens showing dial button functions. This way you can assign workspaces to different numbered keys and you can switch pages within workspace. Combining this you can have multiple profiles that have multiple workspaces that you can switch with numbered keys. And workspaces can have multiple pages for touch buttons and dials that you can switch by swiping finger on touch buttons and dials buttons descriptions
It is not difficult to have the Stream Deck switch profiles automatically. I would find the Razer too limited. But then I use the Stream Deck XL and more buttons is way better. I hope they come out with an XL plus. I’m not a streamer. I use it for productivity and automating every aspect of my computer.
That’s what I had in mind. Can you give me a few examples of how it helps you? I’m not a streamer either, just trying to understand how customizable it is.
@@Jaifreeman Well, it has extensive support for my web browsers (Safari on Mac). And I use a program on my Mac called Keyboard Maestro. It can make my Mac do just about anything, from running terminal commands, to Applescripts, to massively customized keyboard shortcuts to help me with Photoshop, and many other productivity apps. And even when there's not direct support for something, and when a specific keyboard combo is already in use, it can select the menus anywhere in the menu tree. It can type, paste, has all sorts of programming (if then else, switch, etc.). I also use it to control my home automation. Turning lights on and off, via HomeKit and Home Assistant. The cool thing is, you can customize the buttons to show any icon you want. You can even have the icons change as it goes through a Macro to show where it's at. Do countdowns, etc.
Used both, Stream Deck is the better choice in my opinion. You can also find profiles to download and import to automatically setup stream deck for most Adobe software to have it "setup" automatically for that software.
4:15 i was interested in a stream deck for using with a vtuber model but i didn't realize it could be useful for so many other things, and this particular function seems like a very useful way to improve my workflow. This is awesome. When i was looking for a video to compare these stream decks i didn't expect you to cover this so i know i had to check this video and you definitely delivered!!
Nice breakdown. My son's looking to run some D&D sessions with a deck and this sold me on the Razer version and taught me about Loupedeck. Going to see if those decks have an Unity integration for game dev.
Please let me know how you get the DnD setup going once you do. And which one you think is better. I've been mulling over getting the Razer or Elgato to run my TTRPG sessions with Notion and Syrinscape. I'm looking at the razer since it has 8 profiles with buttons so you can automatically switch to the desired profile. Running PF2E right now but wanting to expand with CPRed and others.
I use StreamDeck+ for another application (it wasn't designed for) -- Flight Simulator! The integration with Axis and Ohs software make it very efficient Flight Simulation controller.
Loupedeck/Razer stream controller lacks in software and integration that elgato has with bar raider and his plugins. Elgato hardware is 30% of the story and software is the main 70%. Loupedeck software and app store is very lacking,
Does Razer controller can control philips hue and Elgato light? I loves the design of Razer controller but Elgato seems offer better integration, I’am using mac os, and Razer always having limited compatibility with mac os.
Thanks for your clear review! At the moment, I'm not faced with an easy choice of what to buy. I want to use when recording streams. I want to ask you, today, your subjective opinion, which is better than Elgato XL or Loupedesk? Thanks for your expert answer!
I use Adobe Premier Pro and Photoshop on a daily basis as I'm a video editor. At first I was leaning towards the Loupedeck/Razer Stream Controller, but the release of the Streamdeck Plus have made my decesion extremely more difficult. Anyone have any experience with both as far as an editing tool?
@@maxinac i winded up getting the Razer Stream Controller because i liked the added physical buttons and knob placement. It’s been working great. Configuring it is not as straightforward as a stream deck but there are many options to fine tune it how you want.
Hello! First of all, I want to thank you for the great review! I am very interested in one question! At the moment I have a problem with choosing between loupedeck live and Elgato Stream Deck Plus. The question is: if I don't have an elgato eco system at home (there are no products of this brand), how much will it affect the functionality of elgato stream desk plus? Maybe then choose a loupedeck live? Thanks for your reply! Sincerely, your subscriber.
Even if you have zero products it's still good. You can control Philips Hue lights, Nanoleaf lights, carry out actions like launching programs or adjust volumes and do all sorts with it. It's a great bit of kit for all sorts of reasons, you don't "need" other Elgato products in order for it to be good.
Loupedeck Live users... if you swipe left or right it'll change pages... same as the Elgato Deck+ One thing this video did not mention is which device is more responsive and lags less... the Loupedeck is kinda buggy... so I wonder about the Elgato Thanks for this useful video, btw. I pulled the trigger and got my Loupedeck Live because of it.
So here's the thing. You've got a broadcast quality voice. relevant content useful insights. Plus you get right to the point and break it down without dumbing it down. But then....the shrimp hat his throwing me off. UA-cam be making people do waaay to much for the Algorithm

I've had one for a couple weeks and you just blew my mind with some of those tips!
@@Riktar Good to hear it :D . It is really useful if you want to have more than 10 pages/workspaces for your profile.
why you call that thing Razer its from Loopdeck XD

Bar raider doesn’t work on Mac though. But elgato software is smoother and more intuitive I think to use.
