    Which roaring moon is this? Does it play 4 moon ex and Darkrai or do you mean the one with 4 baby moons and like 2 ex? (Would you share the decklist?)

    • @goonsquadtcg
      @goonsquadtcg  6 місяців тому

      This is the Moon we see now. I think they may incorporate 1-2 baby Moon, but the turbo ex build is terrifying for decks still looking to slowly set up. I'm also assuming water energy in the build.
      I've played in a handful of post rotation events and Moon just races things off the board

    Love the praise of moon and ancient box! Looking forward to testing them! Is there a difference between roaring moon and ancient box playing the roaring moon?

    • @goonsquadtcg
      @goonsquadtcg  6 місяців тому

      Roaring Moon ex still functions similarly to its pre-rotation build. It looks to race decks off the board and capitalize on any two prize liabilities. Where I think it may adapt is leaning more into the greninja/canceling cologne play to take early prizes. It's the go to race deck. I think the one prizer can slot in as a one or two of to skew the trade, but you have to clear your board of liabilities early.
      Ancient Box is more focused on Professor's Sada and the new one prizers out of temporal forces. It will play high counts of Koraidon, Roaring Moon one prizer, Flutter Mane, and Great Tusk. You really want to try and overwhelm them early with 180 again and again, until you're hitting for big damage. It's extremely linear in its strategy, but 140HP basics give decks problems. Chien Pao burns resources dealing with 140-200HP one prizers. Lost Box needs to set up to potentially get them. Iron Hands doesn't always go through them. There's alot to like. My only thing is that Ancient box needs PLENTY of gust to stay in games late

    If Charizard is S-tier, then why I am still losing against Chien-pao? Any tips? 😅

      I usually try to focus on killing their Frigibax and never letting them get Baxcalibur. Without Bax the deck is pretty easy. Save your Boss's Order for those.

      @@AgusSkywalker should I use a Mt devolution?

      It's hard to say blindly. Your approach could be off. I've covered two videos on playing Charizard. With even a modest setup, it's free if you know where to aim - Baxcalibur
      They play 3 Frigi, 3 Candy, 2 Baxcalibur, and 2 rods.
      My go-to techs for dealing with the deck are 1 Devolution TM and 2 Lost City.
      Teching them makes the following gameplan easier, but not necessary.
      Do not hit into a Chien Pao or put two prizers on the board until you can KO a Baxcalibur. You want to counter the catcher the first one and knock it out. Pair with Iono if you can help it.
      They typically will respond on your Charizard and take two prizes. The next turn, you need to take out the second one (probably with one more ex. Radiant Zard is ideal if charged up, but not always likely).
      They're going to recycle. They have one Candy left. At this point, you need to use Radiant Charizard to knock out the third one. By presenting no other two prizers, they can't win the game here and should be out of resources to Absolute Zero anymore.
      If they opt to swing with hands on non charizard pieces, that's fine. You know how many Rare Candy they have. Once they've used them all, it's a matter of finishing out the game.
      Hopefully it helps. The deck is as predictable as death and taxes. My only fits with it are when I missed set up early and they popped off

    What about Alakazam EX deck?

    • @goonsquadtcg
      @goonsquadtcg  6 місяців тому

      It's weak to Dark. Charizard is the current BDIF. I don't see how it carves out a niche UNTIL they print a Leafy Camo Poncho tool for Pokémon ex
