There's only ONE True reason Bewitched ended. And that is because Elizabeth Montgomery said , "I am Done". "No more, no matter how much I am offered. I want to pursue other opportunities outside comedy". And since she was Bewitched both in front of cameras and behind as Co- Executive Producer with her soon to be Ex-husband, there's nothing else that could be done. Bewitched was over and out!
Ohhh we LOVED Bewitched! Our home went silent the moment the first trills 🎶 🎶 and introduction of the cast came on. Elizabeth was so cute and irresistible...
I have watched Bewitched since I was a teenager, today I still enjoy this wonderful show at the age of 69, love all the characters , Samantha, darwin, ha ha, especially aunt Clara, and the nosey neighbour Gladys, but all the cast are brilliant , all brilliant ❤
I was six and in first grade when the show started. I loved Bewitched!!! Such a big part of my childhood and everything 1960's. Oh, how I wished I could twitch my cute little nose and create anything and everything I wanted! It seemed that's the way life could be. At 65 I still hold out hope.
I loved Bewitched and we always watched it. After the show, I would pretend to be a witch myself by going to my room and pretending with the light switch while waving my arm or twitching my nose, pretending that my other hand wasn't really turning the light off and on. Even now, I get the same feeling from using my key fab or using those automatic motion paper towel dispensers in public restrooms that sense your hand. You can snap your fingers by it and pretend you're Samantha. Just fun!
I grew up watching Bewitched, and it was a hilarious series. I was glued to the screen because I loved the characters and especially the comedy. There will never be entertainment like this again, and I am fortunate to have grown up enjoying it. RIP Elizabeth Montgomery, Dick York, Dick Sargent, Agnes Moorehead, Paul Lynde, David White ("Larry Tate"), Bernard Fox ("Dr. Bombay"), and so many more from the show who are no longer with us.
When I was in junior high, in the summer, I wrote a script and sent it off to Bewitched. They didn't use the script, but maybe half a year later, there was an episode where one of Darrin's business guys had a name that I had used in my script, with the surname of Washburn. My next door neighbors were Washburns, so I used that name in my script. (If I remember right, it aired in season 6.)
I loved Bewitched. I was a little kid at the time & thought it was hilarious. Gladys and Abner Kravitz were my favourite characters (after Sam, Darren and Endora).
Loved this show as a kid. Since I was young all of this drama was over my head. SO glad for that. That is just the way tv was back then. I wouldn’t change a thing. TV today is awful.
The sitcom script had something that appealed to almost everybody, and it still does to people around the world. Years ago, I watched its remake show in Bangkok. I couldn’t understand their dialogues in the thai language, but the gags, reactions and characters were so close to the original that I could laugh by simply watching the images on the TV screen.
The problem with Darren being replaced was that the first actor had a male energy that couldn't be replaced. His chemistry with Elizabeth Montgomery was incredible. I guess I know why it was better, but I won't risk saying it.
Agnes Moorehead initially wanted to play another lead character on Bewitched--Hazel???? I wonder if that’s an error because I do not recall a main character named Hazel. Possibly they were thinking of the character “Gladys Kravitz?” Peace.
Inherit the Wind was NOT a Western drama. Jesus. It was a courtroom drama about the Scopes Monkey Trial (about a teacher jailed for teaching evolution in the American South).
I love Elizabeth Montgomery and love Bewitched and still watch all the reruns to this day….it’s comedy and gets you away from this wicked world, you need some laughter in your life but God comes FIRST in my LIFE 🙌🙌🙌
7:11 mark LITERALLY THE SENTENCE "IT WOULD NOT NECESSARILY BE A SCENE THAT WOULD TAKE BEWITCHED OFF THE AIR". 🤦🏻♂🤦🏻♂🤦🏻♂🤦🏻♂🤦🏻♂ #thisiswhyihavetrustissues
Never, ever accepted Dick Sergeant as Darren. Really missed Dick York but still loved the other characters. I still watch the first seasons of the show.
This show just brings back such good memories! I was a kid back then and always watched it and enjoyed it! My Dad loved Elizabeth Montgomery. She was beautiful.
I used to watch Bewitched and I Dream Of Jeannie as a kid all the time 45 years ago in re-runs, Elizabeth Montgomery and Barbara Eden were both incredibly gorgeous besides being great actresses. Montgomery also had perfectly arched eyebrows.
The 2005 reboot movie would have been better if they casted Jim Carey as Darin and Mary Mccormack as Samantha. I think they look like the past actors Dick York, Elizabeth Montgomery and potentially possess their mannerisms much better.
The series simply had run it's fabulous course. Most of what else is said is fluff. Bewitched has withstood the test of time very well. Still watch from time to time, and still find it hilarious.
I fell in love with her, too. She didn't know it but, we had a WONDERFUL affair!! Why the hell would you show a clip from, "It's A Wonderful Life"?? Who the hell was Hazel?? I don't ever remember there being a Hazel anywhere on that show, let alone a lead part!! I give up! Who's Jessica Chastain? Soooo, what was the infamous scene that took it off the air?
I was wondering who they're talking about too.. Jessica is another actress and her name is pronounced Cha Stain, it my maiden name and used to get infuriated when even teachers mispronounced mispronounced it. Jessica, I feel your pain.
A finale episode that gave a series capstone while also implying their stories would continue on. Something like a party, perhaps a time jump ahead to the Stevens’ 25th or even 50th anniversary, with them reflecting on the memories of their lives together and giving the audience a small glimpse into what each character would be doing / had done in the years we would not be seeing all of them on TV.
I remember many of the shows, aunt Clara was a riot the way she always came in down the chimney and was covered with soot.Yes "Sam" was beautiful but never seemed to be wearing a lot of make-up and wore a pretty basic housewife wardrobe, her beauty still shone through. Her "cousin",who I thought was named Sabrina (with a b) was played by Elizabeth, was the "dolled up version" with dark hair.Still a classic that led to many other sitcoms.
I love her, she great, she did an episode of the Twilight Zone, Rod Serling's trippy psychological drama, The Show Elizabeth was in was with Charles Bronson, he an American soldier, she a Russian soldier, come across one another in a dead village, giving the impression that they were the last two people alive after the War, So good, 🐾🐾🐾🐾🙋♀💞💖Cheers!
A Finale Episode would have been the best solution to ending this series. The Actors were apparently not close enough to each other to discuss the symptoms of their fading series, accentuated by the abysmal last episode. They could have went into reruns a week early to air the finale at the end of the season. As per Dick York's Departure, a preface of a minute by Dick York in a Wheelchair at the beginning of the first Dick Sergeant show as an Actor to Fan Talk would have been a good transition.
I often thought that the selection of Dick Sargent was another reason the show lost its magic. He was not as good as York with comedy and appeared awkward in his body and his role in the show.
I fell in love with Elizabeth Montgomery as a 9 year old. I didn't love her for her looks back then. It was her humor, her grace, her mothering instincts, her internal beauty that shown through her character of Samantha. I was so sad when she died from cancer. I am not much of a fanboy in general, but for her I was.
They drink a crazy amount on Bewitched. Almost every episode they have cocktails or mixed drinks. I don't think that would be allowed in any shows today.
I love this show until this day❣️I was very young when it started and have never stopped watching that amazing show and cast, I'm 55 years young btw❤ 🎉
The hockey legend Phil Esposito tells of his first trip to Los Angeles when the LA Kings were awarded a franchise. He talks about being on the set watching the actors, and how beautiful Ms. Montgomery while being mesmerized by the whole Hollywood scene. I recall my first trip to LA with my wife back in 2014. It was like being in a Hollywood Movie very surreal kind of feeling, but feeling behind all the glitz, that so many tragic events had happened for so many years
Elizabeth and dick were amazing together..if the show had continued it would have drawn multiple audiences ..their comedy and scenes were a true sense of greal life and😂 relationships..even though it was quite some time ago their natural humor and true acting will always draw a crowd when you appreciate a great funny story!!!!
THE ORIGINAL BEWITCHED IS A MASTERPIECE . I WATCH THE RERUNS ALL THE TIME BECAUSE THESE DAYS MOST OF THE SHOWS ARE GARBAGE AND I DON'T WASTE MY TIME ON THE CRAP. TELEVISION SHOWS THESE DAYS LACK A LOT OF INTEGRITY OF YEARS AGO .
I’d pay good money for Bewitched to be on Blu-ray (the series, not the God-awful film), so long as it was as broadcast. No colourisation, original theme tunes and Screen Gems endcaps. Take my money! 😊👍
That was interesting that the actors had to bring in their own clothes and jewellery to wear on set. I once bought some costume jewellery, earrings and brooches that Elizabeth Montgomery supposedly wore in the filming of 'Bewitched,' but I searched the episodes in vain for them. This was especially easy with the Xmas episodes, where she wasn't wearing the Xmas tree brooch I'd bought. Mostly she seems to have worn her silver heart-shaped pendant, and rarely any other jewellery.
I loved the late Marion Lorn with her door knob collection 😄 Gladys Kravitz was a riot.
As a kid, I thought Elizabeth Montgomery and Barbara Eden were the most beautiful women in the world .
Bewitched was one of my favorites and is till this day because it was clean and wholesome TV and it was a whole lot of fun too watch!❤
Couldn’t get into Bewitched after Dick York left. Dick Sargent just didn’t have it.
I was six and in first grade when the show started. I loved Bewitched!!! Such a big part of my childhood and everything 1960's. Oh, how I wished I could twitch my cute little nose and create anything and everything I wanted! It seemed that's the way life could be. At 65 I still hold out hope.

It went downhill when Dick York left with agonising back pain, poor bugger suffered badly throughout the whole time!
Uncle Arthur was a gas. Loved these shows as a kid...
I grew up watching Bewitched, and it was a hilarious series. I was glued to the screen because I loved the characters and especially the comedy. I'm still in love with Elizabeth Montgomery. Personality, body movements, wholesomeness with a little spice. 🥰
There never was a Hazel on Bewitched. Hazel was a different show.
I loved Bewitched. I still like to watch them today when a channel picks up the reruns.
When I was in junior high, in the summer, I wrote a script and sent it off to Bewitched. They didn't use the script, but maybe half a year later, there was an episode where one of Darrin's business guys had a name that I had used in my script, with the surname of Washburn. I wish Endora or Maurice would have transformed York into Sargeant. That would have made more sense.
I had a huge crush on Elizabeth Montgomery
I loved Bewitched. I was a little kid at the time & thought it was hilarious. Gladys and Abner Kravitz were my favourite characters (after Sam, Darren and Endora).
Loved this show as a kid. Since I was young all of this drama was over my head. SO glad for that. That is just the way tv was back then. I wouldn’t change a thing. TV today is awful.
I loved the show, when I was a kid. If they put it back on TV I would watch it again.

Dick York reminds me of Jim Carey
Agnes Moorehead initially wanted to play another lead character on Bewitched--Hazel???? I wonder if that’s an error because I do not recall a main character named Hazel. Possibly they were thinking of the character “Gladys Kravitz?” Peace.
Bewitched was terrific. Elizabeth Montgomery, Dick York & Agnes Morehead were just great. May they all Rest in Peace 🩷💚
Inherit the Wind was NOT a Western drama. Jesus. It was a courtroom drama about the Scopes Monkey Trial (about a teacher jailed for teaching evolution in the American South).
I love Elizabeth Montgomery and love Bewitched and still watch all the reruns to this day….it’s comedy and gets you away from this wicked world, you need some laughter in your life but God comes FIRST in my LIFE 🙌🙌🙌
Elizabeth Montgomery was gorgeous. I had a crush on her myself until I saw her twin sister Serena and fell in love.
Being 10 in 1964, Bewitched fit my maturity perfectly.
Bewitched was one of my favorites! ♥
Bring it back except let Tabitha be the mother
7:11 mark LITERALLY THE SENTENCE "IT WOULD NOT NECESSARILY BE A SCENE THAT WOULD TAKE BEWITCHED OFF THE AIR". 🤦🏻♂🤦🏻♂🤦🏻♂🤦🏻♂🤦🏻♂ #thisiswhyihavetrustissues
Never, ever accepted Dick Sergeant as Darren. Really missed Dick York but still loved the other characters. I still watch the first seasons of the show.
I thought Elizabeth Montgomery looked great in a mini dress
Fantastic show
Montgomery became more attractive as she got older.
I loved this show as a little girl and will love eliz Montgomery forever ❤❤❤
This show just brings back such good memories! I was a kid back then and always watched it and enjoyed it! My Dad loved Elizabeth Montgomery. She was beautiful.
Will always be my favorite tv show!!!! I enjoyed all this information on the cast. Very intriguing! 😆❤️
I still love and watch Bewitched via DVD's and on Tv
I used to watch Bewitched and I Dream Of Jeannie as a kid all the time 45 years ago in re-runs, Elizabeth Montgomery and Barbara Eden were both incredibly gorgeous besides being great actresses. Montgomery also had perfectly arched eyebrows.

It ended because it had run its course, not because of an 'infamous scene'.
I was born in 66 and watched it every day with my mom till I started 1st grade. It was our favorite show and we still talk about it.
Dick York reminds me of Jim Carrey
You need to listen to Keith Olbermann's story about the time he met Elizabeth Montgomery on a plane ride. He was in love with her too.
Great show and when Uncle Arthur came on, it was HYSTERICAL!!!
The series simply had run it's fabulous course. Most of what else is said is fluff. Bewitched has withstood the test of time very well. Still watch from time to time, and still find it hilarious.
I fell in love with her, too. She didn't know it but, we had a WONDERFUL affair!!

Who the hell was Hazel?? I don't ever remember there being a Hazel anywhere on that show, let alone a lead part!!
I give up! Who's Jessica Chastain?
Soooo, what was the infamous scene that took it off the air?
Jessica Chastain won the Academy award for best actress several years ago for playing Tammy Faye Bakker in "The Eyes of Tammy Faye."
I was wondering who they're talking about too..
Jessica is another actress and her name is pronounced Cha Stain, it my maiden name and used to get infuriated when even teachers mispronounced mispronounced it. Jessica, I feel your pain.

Elizabeth was just STUNNING,,, and what a fab series xx G
I was having trouble sleeping until i watched this video. Thank you for curing ny insomnia.
Katprince. Aunt Clara hilarious
What was the scene?
I always liked Elizabeth Montgomery
"Inherit The Wind, a western film..." 😂😂😂😂
Thank you for this video! Awesome job👍Please continue your most valuable contributions 😀❤️

I still love the show after all these years❤

Elizabeth was as cute as a truck load of baby ducks.

Aww loved Bewitched as a kid, ty for sharing ❤
I fell in love with Elizabeth Montgomery as a 9 year old. I didn't love her for her looks back then. My favorite is Sarina. She was fun-loving and laid-back.
They drink a crazy amount on Bewitched. Almost every episode they have cocktails or mixed drinks. I don't think that would be allowed in any shows today.
Witch Infamous Scene?
I, met Harry Ackerman w.who created Bewitched in Hollywood!
loved the show. was a big fan! thanks for the memories :) cheers!
I love this show until this day❣️I was very young when it started and have never stopped watching that amazing show and cast, I'm 55 years young btw❤ 🎉
I just admired the Show with all the actors they all each one threw on the best they could to make other people's life interesting.
Great fun, always looked forward to it every week. Never understood why it got cancelled so thanks for the explanation.
Loved the show as a kid and still watch it from time to time (I have the series on DVD) :)
Beloved in OZ too, a staple of childhood
As both a Star Trek fan and a bewitched fan I would have taken three years from Bewitched, and added them to the original Star Trek.
Elizabeth Montgomery and Barbara Eden was same Marylin Monroe in television years 60. Good times 😍
I remember my mother giving me a bath when I was 5 years old in 1969 and telling me that there would be a new Darrin on Bewitched that night.
Tabatha was absolutely adorable. She and her twin were both cute as could be. They chose the best twins to fill the roll as Tabatha. 👍 ❤️
Favorite show of all time!

Didn't every teenage boy have a crush on Elizabeth McGomery and Barbara Eden!
Boy loved Bewitched...my favorite witch..💖✌
Elizabeth was a wonderful, beautiful person ❤❤❤❤
Elizabeth Montgomery was fantastic. Great show 😂
I still watch it every day
Who was Hazel? Don't remember her.
Bewitched wasn't the same with Dick York as Darren Stevenson.
I love bewitched
Yes i absolutely adored Elizabeth Montgomery! So beautiful 🎉
I’d pay good money for Bewitched to be on Blu-ray (the series, not the God-awful film), so long as it was as broadcast. No colourisation, original theme tunes and Screen Gems endcaps. Take my money! 😊👍
I don't care why it was taken off the air I loved her and the first Darren
They should make the movie now I'm surprised they never thought of that
In Hollywood, "fell in love with" meant had sex with.
That was interesting that the actors had to bring in their own clothes and jewellery to wear on set. I once bought some costume jewellery, earrings and brooches that Elizabeth Montgomery supposedly wore in the filming of 'Bewitched,' but I searched the episodes in vain for them. I loved this show as a kid!
I ❤ LOVE Bewitched even today!! I grew up with Bewitched!! Named my doll "Tabitha" !!
