How to Charge JBL Xtreme 3

- The new JBL Xtreme 3 has a new charger with multiple voltages and USB-C connector. It allows you to charge the device within 2.5 hours.
Both the USB-A and the USB-C can be used to charge other devices, like a cellphone for example, or your GoPro camera. The Xtreme then operates like a battery bank.
That is very helpful during power outages, or on a camping trip.
The charging and the new battery situation is so good in this revision of the xtreme speaker.

Hi I hope you still read these comments. And this might sound stupid but I let my speaker die and when I went to charge it it doesn’t charge. I was going to try a reset but I need to be able to turn on the speaker, which I can’t. So do you know of any way to reset without powering on or anything else that I can try or am I just out of luck ? Any advice would be appreciated thank you

Sorry one question , when THE xtreme 3 is in AC mode and is fully charge THE battery led turn off?
When the Xtreme3 is off, and the battery is fully charged, then yes the battery LED goes off.
Brand new bought and i get 4hrs max on full volume out of this. How can it be?

You can even charge your phone with the usb c port, And the usb a. 2 devices at the same moment.

yes, if that powerbank supports fast charging with higher voltages.
Okay i see 🙏 so i think I'll go for a JBL charge 5 then, because i want to simply charging the speaker with my 100w portable solar charger and my Anker powerbanks while I'm off the grid. ✌️

i would think that there is no difference. From what i learned, to degrade the battery you have to keep it charged to 100% all the time, or to charge it when it is hot.
if u want the battery to last longer better charger it with 1A will need more time to charge but battery will last longer

U should be able too but your not gonna get alot of a charge because the xtreme 3 has 4 18650 batteries you would need a battery pack that has more Capacity than the xtream 3 and most battery banks don't have that unless you buy or make a high capacity one. Most of the banks you buy off Amazon wish eBay lie about capacity they will say they have 12,000 mah when they don't they also use cheap 18650 cells that only put out 700 mah and claim big numbers like 9,000 mah per battery that's a lie. The best batteries on the market are Samsung and Panasonic a few others and they put out around 3,400 mah per battery witch is great. Hope this helps

The manual specifically says fully charge at least every three months. So which is it. Keep at 50% or full charge?

btw i don't care what the manual says. we are talking about batteries, and i listen to the battery specialist.
But im a person who listens music all night on weekends and i always ended the night without battery. It’s impossible to keep it in 50% haha
80% is usual when not using it for a while. As long as it's not stored below 20% it should'nt be a huge problem. But hammering it with charger plugged in at 100% would be a problem. If you never fully charge, it will damage the cells. If you always keep it above a certain level, it will damage the cells.
Can i charge my xtreme 3 with my 25w phone charger? Im on holiday and i forgot the original charger at home... :/

No it doesn't it only comes with one that you can only plug into a wall

When mines charging is when it's full it the light turns off then 2 songs later comes on and says charging again then repeat is that normal?
i think so, the weaker the battery the earlier it starts charging again, plus it depends on how loud you listen to the music.

i see the output on the Charger "12V = 3.0A"
does this mean, i can charge it on my car on my USB port or the 12V port with an adapter?
Not sure how long it would take, but in theory yes. If your car has a USB-C Hub with enough power, you could charge your speaker in there. But if your car has only USB-A, then it will not work.
