I feel that we can hear more instruments on the Xtreme 3. When you changed to the Charge 5, it felt like we couldn't hear all the instruments.

I have 2 jbl flip 6 and listen to them in stereo mode, but now I need more bass and have decided to buy a new speaker and use it in partyboost beside my 2 flip 6 for outdoor use. What do you suggest ? Buying charge 5 or xtreme 3 ? Since I heard that xtreme 3 is only 50W rms instead of 100W when it has not plugged, I was a little disappointed about it!
Another question, Is the loudness and bass of jbl xtereme 3 alone more than two jbl flip 6 in partyboost for outdoor use?
I have 2 extreme 3 and 1 charge 5. I like the mix of sound. More tweeter with the 5 adds to the overall sound.

I would love to see 2 JBL charge 5's paired in stereo vs JBL extreme 3, that would be great, the extreme 3 is very close to running pair of charge 5's, but if you want the very best value setup pair of extreme 3's are the way to go.

As long as the EXTREME 3 is in battery mode, the 2 CHARGE 5s will sound louder, because they are. When using the EXTREME 3 in battery mode, the wattage drops off to between 50-60 watts. All speakers that come with A/C power cords do this. If you think I'm lying, look into it.
It's common sense really. A rechargeable battery cannot & will not compete with the VOLTAGE coming out of a wall socket.
@@jeffrissons5298pairing a charge 5 to an xtreme3 works surprisingly well quite a good balance sound wise.. can only imagine 2 charge 5s and 2 xtreme 3s would sound quite good

i hope the 3.5mm jack won’t be removed in these modern speakers unlike companies did in smartphones. I use the jbl go 2 for my portable cassette player.

Unfortunately it will, the phone companies will make the market so. Apple went wireless because they bought beats, and Samsung did the same with Harmon. Our only hope is those niche Swedish audio companies, that is if they aren't bought out by a phone manufacturer.

The only 2 differences I noted were,deeper bass and more open sound from extreme 3 but charge 5 still sounds good

Thing that puts me off the Charge 5 is no carrier strap, thing that puts off the Xtreme 3 is less battery life

There’s a bag with a strap that you can buy
The battery life depends on the volume level and/or your listening conditions. As far as the carry strap goes, if you want portability as far as the Charge 5 goes, why would you need a carry strap. You can easily carry it with one hand.
After performed testing, I bought charge 5 for 2 units. Sound better than 1 extreme 3.

Holy fricken bananas I just bought the xtreme 3 and when you put it in low frequency mode it is just unreal loud with thundering bass 😲 and for anyone who doesn't know how to turn on the low frequency mode just hold down the minus and the Bluetooth button at the same time for 10 seconds and it will all light up

The Charge 5 now has an equalizer through the JBL app. Now you can turn that bass up even more! The higher bass level is definitely noticeable. The added bass/equalizer option could make the two sound equal.

yeah but the extreme 3 still has more sound in the tweter and higs and on the base will still do better just because it's bigger and as more speakers and also that eq also came to the extreme 3 and now it sounds almost as good as the boombox 1
That dosen’t change the fact, charge 5 is a smaller bluetooth speaker, its great i have one and also bought the xtreme 3 last week, of you increase the bass you will hit distorsion earlier, xtreme 3 will be able to hit higher levels more easily, and you can’t charge how deep the bass go with eq, just the amount of it, extreme 3 plays deeper and have wider sound than charge 5, xtreme 3 is quite larger and might be difficult to carry with you, charge 5 is easy to have with you,

I got the Extreme 3 and I pit it against the charge 4 in a garage. Extreme gets a little bit louder, and is much more clear. I'm kinda dissappointed in the slight volume difference, but the clarity enhances EVERY song you throw at it. The strap's quality itself feels like it makes up 30% of its msrp, the strap is gorgeous and feels wonderful haha! Im torn, but I think the charge 5 looks like the best bang for the buck. And consider this- I bought my Extreme 3 for $280 at Best Buy. The Charge 5 goes for $150.. so you could buy TWO CHARGE 5'S for a similar price and sync them together... I question if I made the right choice lol. I might return the Extreme and go Charge 5.
What did u end up doing? Insight on what happened to me. I bought the JBL extreme three in December 2020 and then it ended up blowing. Luckily I had the best by warranty so I took it back and they gave me all my money back. Now my question to is do I go when I purchase it again? I really love the JBL three speaker though.
@@K3YSOPENDOORS I gave it the true sound test by playing Kublai Khan's "Swan Song" at max volume through it, and it handled it so bwuatifully that I didn't return it. It's the only speaker I know of that could handle such devastating sound levels with such awesome clarity. I am now completely satisfied with my purchase, and take it to every jobsite I go, carrying it on my back. That sucks but glad you got your money back! How did it blow? Sorry for the late reply. Your story got me wondering if mine will last the test of time, too..

@@darklord9549 the only thing that i regret is the aux port. Charger 5 is really close to the xtream 3 for half the price and 5 hours more of battery life. The sound quality is better also with the charger 5. You buy xtreme 3 for the bass and the volume is not that far from charger 5. The bass is still good enough way better than the flip 6 and my dead speaker Bose SoundLink S3 .
The vocals on the Charge sound a bit hollow, that’s mainly what I noticed when you did the audio test.

I have the charge 5 and can tell you that at 50% volume it fills a 4.5m x 4.5m room and with a good level of bass and upper detail. I really was surprised how powerful the sound was, bold as JBL would say.
As far a size goes I do not have any trouble throwing the C5 with an protective case into a 25ltr rucksack for work.
It’s a great speaker and I don’t know anyone whom is disappointed with it to be honest.

Because those 50% is already its 75%, so when it goes higher it leaves the bass behind and raises its volume slightly to the 100%, a hard inconsistency I cannnot stand because is a cheap speaker trick to pretend having more volume

the clarity of the vocals seems to be greater on the charge. If the location of your Mic didn't change during this test. I actually didn't like the sound coming from the extreme.

you can go 3 days without charging the charge 5 thats impressive, i listen to youtube audio on it when im outside and hearing people talk sounds better than the ipad speakers and its mostly 40 to 50% volume so its not draining energy unless i wanna listen to music and turn it to 70 or 80%.
Может кому-то будет полезно, по поводу что лучше, решил я вообщем купить себе новую колонку, была у меня до этого чардж 3, посмотрел что есть в магазине, и увидел что самое новое это чардж 5, не думая купил себе чёрную сборка tl, послушал не несколько дней и мне показалось что маловато Бассов как для меня, начал смотрел видео сравнения и пошёл делать возврат, покупая экстрим 3, купил, пришёл домой, послушал ее два дня, и каждый раз у меня возникало сомнение, что то не так, ну вот не то, да бассы сильнее, но они какие-то не такие, они не дополняют музыку, они просто где-то бубнят, высокие частоты кричат отдельно, низкие отдельно. Я начал думать что бы вернуть экстрим 3 и взять снова чардж 5, т.к. в чардж 5 реально звук по качеству лучше, в ней все сбалансировано как то, получаешь кайф от музыки, да экстрим 3 мощнее, но каждый динамик играет сам по себе. В итоге сделал я возврат и покупая чардж 5 снова, увидел в наличии зелёный цвет сборка nd, взял ее, ребята я очень доволен теперь. Звук в nd сборке мне больше понравился, чем в tl, очень приятный басс, на эквалайзере, в приложении jbl, я поднял бассы на верх, все остальное посередине. Я прям очень рад что попробовал и экстрим и чардж и выбрал то, что как по мне самый лучший вариант. Бассы крутые, звук очень сбалансирован, для любого стиля. Nd сборка реально лучше tl. Надеюсь для кого то мой комментарий будет полезен сьекономит вам хорошую сумму денег и поможет определится с выбором.

Yo originalmente compre un equipo charge 5 por reseñas de internet y créeme que fue amor a primera vista al escucharlo, realmente es bestial para su tamaño, sin duda el mejor altavoz del mundo considerando al mismo tiempo calidad, tamaño y precio. Después adquirí otro equipo igual y creí que sería la mejor decisión y no fue así…la función de ecualizador se anula al sincronizarlos y siento que no se complementan suenan muy independientes, es decir no se siente envolvente a pesar de la función estéreo, después compré el xtreme 3, y en proporción al charge 5 queda mucho a deber, no es que sea malo, sino que el charge 5 ofrece casi lo mismo, pero sin las dimensiones y el precio. A pesar de todo lo anterior en reuniones de 15-20 personas, el sonido que ofrecen mis 3 equipos es satisfactorio en incluso rara vez los pongo al máximo volumen, nunca es necesario. Es mi experiencia.

Rob, how much X3 is louder than C5? In portable conditions, not ac mode.
@@golomidovd the sound doesn't change a bit with or without power. But for the sound differnce of the two speakers, the xtreme only has a tiny tiny tiny bit more bass. But for the size and the price, its not worth 300 bucks. Maybe 150, thats about it. not much bass at all.

Excellent comparison. I have charge five and love it. Size and portability matters. I don’t have any use for an extreme 3 because it is too large and too heavy. The charge five with the EQ on my phone sounds phenomenal and I bring it to outdoor pool and rarely play above two or three so is plenty loud. I love it so much I’m going to buy a second one today on Amazon prime day, I’m sure it will really come alive once it’s in a stereo field. I can easily put two of these in my backpack where the water containers normally go. I have 2UE booms and the JBL is far superior also extremely durable and waterproof.
PS: I own a party box 110 and two Bose S1 pros so I am covered for when I need to take it to the next level( I am a musician that performs outside). I do wish that they would make an app that would include all Bluetooth speakers. It doesn’t even include all the Jbl Speakers. That being said I am 100% happy.
Its crazy to watch videos like this and know the tribit blast for 140 smokes both these and even tthe motion boom plus does too and is only 120 right now even with extrem 3 on sale nkw for 229 and charge 5 for 119 it would make zero sense to spend more for worse sounding performing speaker when ya can get eith the blast or boom plus for less

@elmo4672 not even comparison but also gotta take into consideration the blast is quite a bit heavier and bigger charge 5 sounds good for its size but the mono sound and price even on sale forb129 I just feel there's better options out there but blast vs charge 5 no comparison for sound more bass more mids Highs and much much better seperation

I bought the Flip 5 to start. After a few days I purchased the Xtreme 3. I returned the Flip 5 and felt it was better all around. Disappointed I purchased the Charge 5 and was extremely impressed. The Flip 6 was just released but decided to keep the Charge 5.
If you listen to rap and hip-hop music mostly like me, the proper choice is Flip5 or 6 and the Charge 5.
I am very particular about my sound quality. Few things impress me, but the Flip and Charge are solid choices. More money is not always better.

Probably Xtreme 4 will be superior to Xtreme 3 in every aspect. Interestingly, in Europe Xtreme 4 hit the market shelves about 3 weeks ago. However, it is still out of sight in Amazon USA as of 20/03/2024.

Only difference is the extreme 3 is bigger , I personally would have both but can’t afford the extreme 3 & the charge 5 u can carry with u in a hoodie pocket unlike the extreme 3 I hate the hooks , it’s definitely not worth carrying the extreme 3 to work or places unless it’s a beach . It’s only bigger but sound wise no difference. I love both but buying the charge 5 first cause it’s easy to carry without a strap

Got a charge 5, and extreme 3, the extreme is a big letdown to me, expected way more, the charge 5 is a lbs 4 lbs favorite of mine, also got a 310, 710, 2 1,000s and boombok 2 and 3, the exteme aint loud and for the $$$ its a waste the soundcore blows it out the water at half the price to me the extreme 3 is jbls worst speaker

@@alstreethawker1429 it really depend what you are using it for, XTREME 3 is louder, has better sound quality, better bass and has a longer battery life but the charge 5 is more practical
