Creating filigree decoration FREEHAND, and using goldleaf alone presents is its own difficulties. Doesn’t matter, still amazing! Love watching Bill work!
As artisans, they are glass blowers, not master painters. The venecian glass houses have experts in leaf and enamel work this is a museum show of 15th century art methods, can we please not disrespect the craftsman?
I understand why he did the paint and leaf work like he did. It's made to replicate a period piece and they were never symmetrical and perfect. Bill made it that way on purpose and it's beautiful.
