Kirby should’ve used the other Super abilities in Smash Bros. And not just the Ultra Sword. Like how Sephiroth’s final smash has a random effect, Kirby uses one of the super abilities (randomly decided) and each has a different effect Ultra Sword: Same as it is normally, but sometimes he’ll use his other Swords. Like the Bamboo sword, Pirate Cutlass or Tuna Fish. Monster Flame: Kirby Summons the large fire dragon from his firey hat, it flies left and right across the screen a couple times, sorta like Pac-Man’s final smash Snow Bowl: Very similar to Piranha Plant’s final Smash, he turns into a large snow ball and can roll across the stage. fighters in his way get caught in the Snow Ball, which explodes after a bit. Grand Hammer: Pretty much the most basic, Kirby Slams the Grand Hammer into the ground. Anyone underneath it has a lot of damage dealt, but the hammer slam can also create Shock waves the hit the other players, it can also be charged up by mashing the a button, making it bigger and making it deal more damage Flare Beam: More similar to the way Magolor uses it. Two large energy balls appear and bounce around stage. They are slow, but deal a lot of damage should an opponent get caught in one. On larger stages, more energy balls appear, and are faster.
I mean honestly doesn't sound very fun as a final Smash. Neither the Kirby player nor the opponent knows what the final Smash will be so no one can plan anything about it. Like, the Kirby player is gonna spend 30 seconds trying to get close to other players because some version of the Final Smash like Sword are rendered completely useless if they aren't close. But then it turns out they didn't need to that because they got a Final Smash that affects the whole stage anyway. Sephiroth's final Smash which behaves completely predictably with the only difference being which kind of negative status effect it causes. I mean I get the appeal because reference but to me, it sounds like a ton of extra work for something that ultimately wouldn't be all that fun. It wouldn't be accurate to the source material either; after all, the Super Abilities don't just give you a random ability.
@@nobodyyouexpected I’d argue they could use it more similarly to Ryu and Ken? If he’s close, Kirby will use Ultra Sword. If he’s further away he’ll use anything else. While I agree that it would be less accurate, Hero’s down B is pretty much the same thing and in Dragon Quest the player doesn’t have a randomly decided movepool
Maybe you could make the current ability Kirby holds apply to an ability? e.g. Marthcina's Shield Breaker gives Ultra Sword, fireball, Mario's Fireball gives Monster Flame, Ness' PK Flash gives Flare Beam, Lucas' PK Freeze gives Snow Bowl, and regular Kirby uses Ultra Hammer (because the most Hammer would be otherwise would be Icies and Dedede, and Icies are obviously Snow Bowl)
With the Super Abilities, Hypernova Fruit, Robobot Armor and Friend Hearts in Kirby’s Possession, he truly has the makings of an Excellent Star Warrior. Do you all agree? Kirby is a Star Warrior learned in Right back at Ya.
Ah, the Super Abilities... the first gimmick to appear in the modern Kirby games! While they do have their flaws, I'd be interested in seeing them come back with a slightly expanded moveset, because I'd be lying if I said they weren't cool. Especially the Ultra Sword... there's a reason why Sakurai decided to make it Kirby's Final Smash, and considering the extreme lack of representation from the many Kirby games not directed by Sakurai, that's quite impressive! Either way though, if they were brought back I would be incredibly happy.
@@sporecore2788 Going off of the brief footage of the Ultra Sword Super Ability we got in the reveal trailer, it seems as though they'll remain functionally the same as they were in the original. But even still, I'm super hyped for the remaster!
My favorite part of the super ability is when you open the star portal and go into the black and white dimension that probably is a reference to the first game
Goatres Hypernova sections were just eye candy, holding down one button while a bunch of nonsense on the screen happened. The super abilities actually took brain power to use, and were much more unique and diverse. Plus, they had cool puzzles, especially with the flare beam.
Im not the only one who wants these back right? Because i loved them sk much it would be nice to see the super copy ability from my childhood come back

The super abilities might have been simple, but they exuded pure POWER.
And Later Kirby Uses the Ultra Sword to Wreck Havoc on Smash
Much as I like the Robobot suit and hyper nova I can't discredit the super abilities cool yet simple power

Final finishing slash on magalor was the coolest thing ever as a kid. Still is
It's hard for me to believe how long ago return to dreamland came out. It never feels that old in my eyes
I still remember the old commercials back when I was in the 4th Grade in late 2011 and me buying it at my locale super mall.
It isn't old. 12 years isn't much for a game
@@osc-omb47896 Considering a lot of people were most likely in 3-5th grade when they saw the commercials, it *does* feel old to a lot of people.

The theme that just screamed hype for me, I loved destroying everything while listening to this.
Although they were simple, they did a phenomenal job of letting you feel like you were controlling nature ITSELF
I’m never going to stop loving this theme.

Kirby return to dreamland was my favorite game everything about it was amazing to me and the music was ofcourse the best too!!!

I swear I remember hearing unused #2 on the level where kirby goes on a rampage with the ultra sword on the poor midbosses
it is used in that level iirc. my favorite version
Imagine if they made a seperate theme for each ability
(like it was the same song but slightly different)
My favorite part of the super ability is when you open the star portal and go into the black and white dimension that probably is a reference to the first game
It is in fact not a reference and is simply the dimensions between dimensions known as another dimension
Yes i know im a year late shut up
Easily better than hypernova and the friend sections in star allies. Music and gameplay wise.

I’m biased to say hypernova was visually more entertaining
Friend sections? Maybe. Hypernova? Absolutely not.

Wired Egg Lazagna i need 2 play robobobot
If 4 super ability granting enemies spawned when playing with 3 friends, & you were all Kirbies, it would be CHAOS!

lmaooo hes literally final smashing everything. this games fucking great stg
Unused 2 is my favorite version, it feels more powerful and just as good as the others

I love the cut of all the Super Abilities at 0:05
I’m literally watching this after Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe came out!
Super Abilities: Simple, but effective.
Your my favorite youtuber
I love this game so much 😻and I am still trying to get past the harder mode where you have less health
Fun Fact: There was originally supposed to be a cutter super ability but it was cut during development
Vorpal Cutter. They added it into Revenge of DreamLand. It is just Ultra sword but less cool tho
Dang...I got hit with nostagia in only the first 5 seconds!
Sky Tower and Road to Victory (a.k.a. gamecube kirby trailer music) also use the theme
The unused versions make me wonder if more bosses would use the forcefield ability other than just magolor and the grand doomer
my favorite powerup for kirby ever, i wish this came back in later games like super-sonic did.
One of my favorite Kirby games! 😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It's just funny how in the final battle cutscene Kirby is just like uhhh...wtf is happening?
Someone modded back in the super cutter (A cut super ability)
