    Hey friends! Here is my second visit vlog to the old Heritage USA site at Christmas 2022. I explore more PTL locations around the property. Locations like Jim and Tammy office building, The Barn studio, and the Upper Room. Here is a link ua-cam.com/video/uhmLcXoLw98/v-deo.html

    Funny timing, I just listened to a podcast about Tammy Faye Bakker. Thanks for the tour of the remains of the theme park.

    Wow, I had no clue the Bakkers built the theme park. Now I understand why it's closed. Really enjoyed your video. Liked and subscribed. Keep up the great explorations.

    Wasn't there an indoor pool too? I was only 3-4 ish when my Grandpa got us life time memberships. I still have so many memories and recognize so much of what's still there. I was told I pooped in the wave pool and I used to preach on the top of our cooler. I still have my wooden donkey and camel from one of the shows. & pictures at the campground. I still can remember the bees buzzing around me while I drank lemonade and the lemon
    Italian iceee things. My Grandma said once when I saw a man there with no legs I kept saying "look it's a Muppet!" I feel so bad but I didn't know better because i was only around 3ish. &I was so excited about it too. Also there was a man who looked like a baby and I kept saying "that baby can talk!" I bet my family was so embarrassed. My 3 year old says things a lot too that we get very embarrassed about too. I'm sad I was to little to have memories of going down the slide. But I remember looking up at it in amazement and fear for my family when we would wait for them at the bottom of it. I wish so bad it was still there so I could still be enjoying my life time membership lol

    Great video! I was hoping you’d also go by the Upper Room, The Barn and the old PTL Studios. Maybe a part two? 🙂

      I was running out of time that day. I will go back later on this year. I spoke to the head of security before I started filming. He invited me back for Christmas. They must go all out for Christmas in the Main street area. So part 2 is very likely in the future. Thanks for watching. Have a great day friend.😀

    Thank you for sharing this! It makes me sad though! Those children I see with such good memories are so sweet but sad! The water park and train were great accomplishments! I love Jim snd Tammy RIP I think they should put up a memorial to them. What do others think? Her grave is sad to me. Take a look and see if possible.

      I will stop to see Tammy Fayes grave if I ever visit Waldron, Kansas. Thank you so much for stopping by to my vlog. I have another video showing more famous PTL buildings that still stand. I filmed them last Christmas Eve 2022. Here is a link to that video ua-cam.com/video/uhmLcXoLw98/v-deo.htmlsi=wRfbKrTElAdaZXga

    Fantastic video! The last 10 years, I've been fascinated by the whole PTL and Heritage USA. I was a young teenager when the whole scandal went down, and remember seeing Bakker on the news being escorted by his lawyers as he melted down after the sentencing. Now, there is a UA-cam video of a PTL episode I watched a few years ago which featured ONE single hotel room inside the Heritage Tower which had been decorated and finished top to bottom. They were fund raising for the tower at the time, so they wanted to show people what they could expect if they became a lifetime partner. I've been wondering if that hotel room they finished is still as it was when they filmed that episode, since none of the rest of the tower was ever completed.

      Hey Scott! I was teenager too when they closed Heritage USA. I always thought someone would buy it and reopen it. Heritage USA was very successful water park. I will search for the finished room video. Thanks for the information. And thank you for watching.

      @@Bk187O thanks, I will do that! Actually, I was just thinking how the episode where they showed a fully-furnished hotel room in the tower is buried deep inside that episode, and I can’t remember which one it was. It would take hours of sifting. I can’t even remember which UA-cam channel it was on. But I remember Jim talking about how he only wanted premium, high-quality fixtures and furnishings that don’t wear out as fast. He just loved spending other people’s money.

    in the 1990s. .. you could rent cabins that were right around a pond. That was before sll those houses. Me and some friends rented one of the cabins because we were going to Carowinds the next day.. when we checked in, we went looking around..looks like it was a cool place. I went when my aunt and uncle had purchased one of those famous "timeshares"... 😂..but the water park was still under construction at that time...my friends and i joked that the big rock pile reminded us of the Lost Boys cave...good times were had that weekend😂

      Hey Mel! That sounds like a fun time. Speaking of Carowinds. Do you remember going to Carowinds and riding a monorail around the park. It was kinda like a Disney World Monorail. It had to be in the 80's. I would like to go back to Carowinds again someday soon. It has been years since my last visit. Thanks for watching and have a great day my friend.

      @HitchHikingYeti I feel like I missed that..I was there when they had White Lightening..the coaster that was shaped like the cursive "e"..but I'm not sure the monorail was there then... it was a fun park back in the day..yeah I'd love to go back

    Why doesn't the Federal government restore the hotel for Ukrainian refugees?

    • @HitchHikingYeti
      @HitchHikingYeti  2 роки тому +2

      I think because Morning Star Ministries bought the Heritage Tower. The Federal Government can't get involved. Morning Star Ministries announced back in June 2021 they have planes to renovate the property. I hope that helps answer your question. Thank you for watching. Have a great day!
