Beyond me as to why Ian Thornley is NOT household name. Triple threat....great player ,writer and singer. Seen him with Big Wrexk as well as solo and have been floored.each time.
Haunting, soaring, scary and emotive ....all in the same song. Some bands artists take an entire career and never come close to a song with this kind of power. This cat does it in a second nature sorr of way!! His tone is so good, phrasing is beyond tasteful and his chops( both voice and guitar) are formidable to say the very least!
Man! I really want a PRS baritone...but if I can still get ahold of one of those Ian Thornley signature Suhrs...I may need to rethink my next big purchase! Honestly, Thornley is the first player to make me want to buy a signature model! Astounding!
Awesome track!! Mark Knopfler is a huge influence on Ian Thornley, Ian never tries to hide or downplay it....he just allows a hint or two into a brilliant song structure. Great player ,singer and writer
How is it that Ian thornley can't be beat? Because at a concert he gave me his slide chuck gave me one of his sticks and Brad and Brian gave me their picks... TRULLY AMAZING
Wish the drummer went full Hip-Hop on the half time beat at 5:33 and they stretched it out but they kept it rock, fair enough. If Ian continued with the kind of stuff with classic rock tones on his solo album he'd be a shoe in for the Crossroads guitar festival.
+Djeems Gufflet That looks like a stock Suhr Classic Pro Metallic. If so, it would have V70's in the neck and middle and an SSV in the bridge. An SSH Classic Pro would have the same pickups as well, it just wouldn't have a snazzy metallic finish.
+Paul Watson No, in 2014 he played with Pete Thorn's band. 2015 was with Big Wreck. He had a solo album/tour this year to support Secrets. They're working on a new Big Wreck album now!
just fucking legends. Ian & Dave are such a perfect, unstoppable tandem.
As a Canadian, I'm ashamed and appalled this man has never won a Juno award for any of his projects... Truly other worldly live.
I as well as all of the other rabid fans agree
Pick harmonic at 7:00 is just a ninja push to your throat. Dude is GOD
Man, what a great vibe..Dark, but kind of ..soaring..in such a beautiful way..

Incredible. The songs from his new album seem to really shine live when he electrifies them and stretches out a bit.

Awesome song, even better live performance.
I think this my favourite song off of his solo album. An album full of masterpieces I might add.
I love you Ian

Hi ! What guitar and pickups are those please ?

+atquinn1975 thank you for your input.
Is there any reason that Ian performed on his own this year and not with Big Wreck.? He played with them for the past 2 years at this event

+Paul Watson I think he played with Pete Thorn in 2014. Not sure who the Bass player was then though.
+Clifford Mould and +betbuk - Thanks for the update
