Do/can you try to recreate the worst condition for ball movement and if you can create the movement/what you're looking to improve upon... does it translate into more movement in more "optimal" pitching conditions? Variables I can think of off the top of my head can be air temp, elevation, wind, humidity/type of moisture in the air ect... so would a Cy Young winner pitching in Colorado have even more success at lower elevation?
In theory! That has certainly been heavily studied when considering investing in free agents who have played or will play at Coors Field.
I've been lurking...should a pitcher be pronating or suppinating when throwing a slider when releasing?
Supinating
@treadathletics after throwing the pitch in a supinated hand position should we be in pronation?
Better get some Stability Gray shoes pronto bro. 👏🏻👏🏻 Good call.
Yes, your hand/wrist is going to naturally pronate post-release
@@treadathletics What's the reason for more injuries with sliders?
First
Also, belated but happy 100k subs 🎉 onto bigger and better things!

What does “carry” when describing a fastball mean?
Carry is a word used to describe fastballs that drop less than average fastballs do. All fastballs drop as they approach the plate due to gravity. A combination of spin direction and how efficient the spin is can create less drop on the fastball. Hope that makes sense!
@@treadathletics That makes sense. Thanks for the response.
So does that mean a fastball with less vertical break is preferred to one with more vertical break?
In some cases, yes. Less vertical break/More induced vertical break is sought after. It's a bit more nuanced when you mix some cut and run into the equation. Here's a video we made discussing what to look for with 4-seam fastballs!
