"Unbiased Journalism" clearly a fictional film.
CNN - Hey it's a movie about us 😁
Everyone - no it isn't 😂😂😂😂
Yeah, to see how biased they are all you need to do is see who owns the publication and hence who signs their pay cheque.
"Journalism" is a writing style, not an ethical set of rules. I groan at work when I hear "I follow the Science" when "Science" is a generic term for the study of phenomena. The implied ethics there is also a hoot.
Urinalists
@@emersonshiff8132 No one cares about the nuances you find annoying.
This movie biggest mistake was to think we could empathize with journalists in 2024 😂
We can empathize with REAL journalists like O'Keef, Carlson, and Roman (Epoch Times).
Commie Carlson?
FBI and DNC funded this film.
What is a ‘journalist’? It sounds like, a term for something that has ceased to exist.
FBI & DNC funded this film.
No group of people are so self righteous, self congratulatory, and self important than journalists.
actors?
Bunch of circle jerkers the lot of em.
Actors have to be told what their role is
I would agree except for actors.
Which has nothing to do with the film
“DON’T SHOOT TILL YOU SEE THE BLUE HIGHLIGHTS OF THEIR HAIR!” Civil war my ass!
They should have had a scene with a CNN reporter saying it was mostly a peaceful civil war filming in front of a battle to be more accurate.
Or the BBC which is government controlled propaganda
Mostly peaceful, but a little explodey at times.
Mostly peaceful, but a bit loud.
Then have someone at fox blaming it on the Mexicans while showing only white people😂😂😂I swear how are people still stupid enough to watch CNN or Fox and think yeah they don’t have an agenda
"It is not, generally speaking, unruly"

Pedro Pascal IS Dollar Store Pedro Pascal.
FACTS
Dollar Store Antonio Bandares
He was so awesome as Oberyn Martell ... but then has become some kind of leftist champagne socialist complete wuss of a human.
@@LordDirus007 even MORE true
He's Dollar Store actor.
I'm Brazilian and I laughed at the "dollar store pedro pascal" thing about Wagner Moura. 😂
This film is a perfect representation of postmodernism. It's impossible for anyone in Hollywood today to write a movie about a civil war or any war. Modern Hollywood writers and producers are historically and reality illiterate. None of them has studied wars, especially civil wars, and how they get started or why they are fought. NONE OF THEM has ever been in war, served in the military (and i'll go one step farther, I doubt they even know anyone who has). A film about war from people who have only seen other films about war and talked about war on social media. It's a surface level understanding of war, journalism, and civil strife from people who have no experience or interest in really exploring ANY of those concepts.
Well put
This really wasn't a Hollywood film.
The best comment on this page. Thank you Little PHiz.
Perfectly stated 👍
This film to me, is just political propaganda for an upcoming presidential election.
They lost me at "journalists" being the "heroes." I cannot suspend disbelief that far...
That's like asking me to watch a movie where UFOs fight a horde of bigfoots using terminators invented by magicians from the metaverse where 5'2" gurls can beat up 6'2" Navy SEALs and Godzilla is in the background crushing cities.
Yeah. No they aren’t. These civil war journalists could’ve been people who happen to see what’s actually happening in a civil war torn country. My gta verse version of civil war could’ve been a country torn by corporate war that a new war emerged and some collaborators took over the capital city, and there’s secessionist states who want to govern themselves. Especially states who were divided before invasion by some outside forces. Ala. Russian Ukrainian war of our real world. It created a more divided nation.
@@michaeldavid6832 Still more believable than heroic journalists.
Plus if I were to rewrite this story, I would’ve made each character being an old journalist who lived in the former one party era nation, Mary Jane who lived through the collapse era of the country, dollar store Pedro Pascal as a foreign journalist who relocated to a collapsed country from San Escobar, a tropic country affected by its drug war. And this new lady journalist, a gal who witnessed the corporate war between militech anf arasaka and later witnesses the new war. The South American federation. Invading their country. Called Vespuccia. A former Spanish nation turned Mexican imperial colony turned independent nation. Made up of mestizo Spanglish speakers.
I know...but think Andy Ngo
"The right is cruel" there's so much ironically smug stupidity and lack of self awareness in those four words.
He did say the left is smug and he proved it.
Were that true, we'd have none of the problems of today.
He literally followed that up with "the left is smug and I'm left" so... he's not completely off.
Lefties still cling to their self-image as being so compassionate and open-minded; I typically spend 2-3 hours every day reading/listening to politics, and the most closed-minded violent-prone people are from the left, every single time. Typical lefty in a bubble (and delusion).
BUT MUH JANUARY 6TH
Oh, that non-armed "uprising" where the only person who died was shot by the government? Ugh these people.
Truth is cruel to the people that find offense with anything and everything.
"Dollar store Pedro Pascal"? Man, Wagner Moura is an AMAZING actor by his own merits. People may know him for Narcos playing Pablo Escobar, and the lucky ones may have seen both "Tropa de Elite", awesome movies, with Moura stealing the show
Tropa de Elite is one of the best sets of movies to ever be made. When he said "Dollar Store Pedro Pascal" I was like, you ignorant buffoon, you have no clue who this guy is.
Pablo Escobar and Mary Jane team up to get the last pic of the death of the president
I must’ve seen a different movie because it’s very very mediocre
The only thing I took from this movie was there are no good guys and war is hell.
The right wing is cruel??? When was the last time HE got a concrete milkshake thrown at him from conservatives who disagrees with him? Or had his business burned to the ground in a riot started by HIS side? Or stood by and made excuses for paroled felons who assault, rape, or murder innocent citizens while stripping them of the ability to defend themselves? Damn your feelings about the other side's beliefs. You can say a lot of things about the right, especially on the extremes, but they are not the one right now who are so morally unhinged that they will say, or do anything to achieve their social agenda.
Amen!
If only leftists, or hell, even moderates, could ever hear this and understand. But they never do. You'll only ever reach to people that are willing to say the emperor has no clothes.
What he calls "cruel", others would call "firm". Calmly and seriously telling somebody "no" is seen as a cruel act in the eyes of far-leftists in the same way that refusing to share somebody's perspective is characterized as "violence".
The Left always sees itself as the good guys. They live as myth in their own heads. The truth is that the Left is beyond cruel. It lumps people into these tribes and then try to convince us that all Blacks are the same, all women are the same, all white men are the same. It's evil what they do.
They confuse honesty with cruelty. Certainly, there are people "just being honest" who are in fact just dbags, but yes, to a leftist... Being truthful is being cruel .. and only by playing along are you showing kindness. One could argue deception will cause more pain down the line... But that's outside the scope of their views.
If this was real life the journalists would be hiding in their house and the interview would be done over zoom
And they would make most of it up.
And those not hiding would be in nice comfy offices far away from any fighting, taking talking points from a three letter agency…
Sucks that these in-movie journalists have more balls to drive across a war zone than most real life journalists could. It’s why I never bought this version. It’s why I created an alternate history story where even today’s journalists are more risky to get stories than our soy milk chugging types would ever be.
Posed in front of a bunch of pristine books they've never read.
Or they would claim they came under fire while in a helicopter ie things that never happened for 200 Alex.
Stupid ass Brian Williams.
04:22 "...to get as far as the Carolinas to cover their skirmish with the Florida Alliance."
California and Texas teaming up didn't make any sense, but to say South Carolina would not be hanging with Florida is outright LAUGHABLE! 🤣
I think Texas and CA makes sense. Both states function basically outside of the Union as is. Though they are literally opposite in beliefs, I could imagine an alliance to secede and become independent countries.
they did it to try and make it look like it wasn't a right vs. left thing, so more people would watch. Clearly it was leftvs right and they are dumb.
You the line probably don’t represent the politics of each state, but how far each faction can project strength. The Carolinas, are probably captured territories.
Imo, people are missing elements of irony, surrealism, and even a bit of humor in there. Imagine if people took other movies this seriously. The director is trolling many social elements here.

But, he claimed the Right are violent - when every evil regime is from the Left. So, yes… the Right are violent, because they have to rise up and destroy the evil regimes. 😂
Another Achilles heel of the left is to have absolutely zero self awareness 😂

The credit card line was directly stolen from South Park in the episode where they play China in a dodgeball tournament.
Zombies, Aliens, Werewolves, Vampires, Chupacabra, all of this is more believable than good-guy journalists
California-Texas alliance is super realistic, too
Even if they had the same political views they are so far away from each other that it would be nightmarish to move troops
@@lorddiethorn The idea that those states would have their own forces is laughable. As soon as it was apparent their governments were acting in insurrection they'd be taken over..by the many federal bases that answer to the Pentagon. 15 bases in Texas, and 32 in California all filled with people who are largely not even native to those states. That isn't accidental.
I assume those 2 states were chosen because of their economies.
It's unrealistic that they would win the war also, as they are both on coasts putting them well within in reach of US naval vessels.
A US civil war today would be an absolute mess, but like the first one the fed would not allow any states to simply "leave". And back then, the soldiers in those bases were disconnected from Washington.
I wonder who's funding these urinilists education and handing out scholarships 🤔 starts with a B and ends with a gates.
Surely this won't create a bias, right?
Journalists and a free, unbiased press are as important as doctors in our society?! If that's the case, American journalists should be sued for malpractice.
No one has ever shouted "Is there a journalist in the house?" in an emergency. The hacks have an over-inflated sense of their importance.
I mean I gave them the Journo Porn but I could not handle the UNREALISTIC situations. TWICE.. ONE TWO TWICE these "Press" agents roll up on a gun fight and casually approach one of the sides participating in it. Could you imagine in a war, walking up to a sniper and saying. "so what's going on?" You would get smoked approaching any gun fight. Trash.
@@harbl99But, with no spread of information, people will continue making terrible decisions.
And after covid, so should the doctors 👍
After easily accessible cameras, there's no reason to have a press honestly. The people are the press and you see this when the 'press' just reposts content from social media accounts. They are glorified content curators now that put a spin on a story. Now I do think they can be helpful for interacting and watching governments, but the only thing that is different is a journalist college degree, a press badge, and a job at a mainstream company.
A bit harsh on Wagner Moura there, the guy is a fantastic actor
I feel bad for the actors who had to act in this movie
My biggest question is why didn’t NATO intervene on side of the Loyalist
Ha, they don't want to spill all the truth.
But seriously, if things were ever kinetic on US soil, the UN would charge right in
Because most of the rest would probably be busy keeping Russia out of Europe...
NATO is about defending from invasion. Not civil wars.
Journalists being the heroes is hilarious...no thanks ! The mainstream press helped create all the division.
No, they didn’t. How did they even do that?

Yeah i know.. the movie doesnt do that though so maybe watch it
The fact that people are still liying about Jan 6th says a lot about this nation and the morons who can vote anyway.
You should have seen the news in 2016 showing women crying tears of happiness that they got to vote for a woman to be president, like holy fuck, voting for someone because of their gender is next level R word.
They live in such a different reality that they don't THINK they are lying.

Hahahaha…love it.
It feels like propaganda to get us to trust the TV talking heads again.
Never happening again
That's exactly what I was thinking. The MSM has lost all credibility and they did it themselves when they stopped reporting on the news and instead went to 1 hour (or more) News OPINION shows with pundits pretending to be News Presenters (Anchors). They tried to tell Americans these shows and the people hosting them were "Truth" and as such, there is no debate to be had.
Is it any wonder people are turning them off and instead, looking at numerous Independent Sources for actual news??? But even some of the bigger Independent News Sources are becoming overly biased to certain issues/subjects. After a while, you won't be able to trust anyone for unbiased news unless the Govt. (FCC), steps in (scary) and regulates these news sources and demands they "label" their shows either "News Reporting" or "News Opinion".
Such a good joke imagine watching the news heads
Nobody trusts the MSM because they have shown us they are not trustworthy. Even some of the Independent smaller ones which are gaining viewers and subscribers are starting to show extreme bias, one way or the other and also doing some pandering.

Having California and Texas working together has to have been done simply to make sure the film attracts people from all sides of the political spectrum. Not because it could ever happen.
No it's because people in Europe think California is extremely counter culture and the director is European so he believes Texas and Cali would naturally join up. This is the problem when you set out to make a political movie but don't know anything about the politics of the subject lol!
I don't know, the number of California libs that are pouring into Texas these days, maybe it could...
But it doesn't matter because liberals would do anything to avoid a civil war because conservatives have all the guns in this country. And even if the liberals got guns they don't know how to use. them.

When he says the right is cruel and the left is smug, it really sounds like he's letting the left off with slight criticism.
They're hypocrites, why are you even surprised at this point?
Cruel, though? An atheist has no concept of grace, mercy, or repentance. On the other hand, is the toddler, who knows only unbound wrath when denied a desire of the moment, especially when raised unchecked. These are the Left.
The Right is of Tradition. And while there will be reprisal, and retribution, the only cruelty in the minds of Good Men would be that which occurs upon the Innocent, when the Guilty go unpunished. Forgiveness and altruism are byproducts, come from fear of The Lord.
Yup. He might as well have said "the 'problem' with Leftists is that we can be rude, whereas the problem with the Right is that they're evil."
Yeah the left is smug because they make moral arguments. WTF is he even talking about? A moral argument for explicit sexual books in elementary schools? A moral argument for allowing children to make permanent surgical and hormonal changes?
Name me one thing the modern left advocates for that’s actually moral and I’ll eat my hat.
He's comparing the hard right to centre left
The left: give me your money!
The right: no.
The left: how could you be so cruel?

Poor Dunst. She is 41 going on 50 😬. Did they age her up for the movie?
most women look old at that age
@@Blobby192 Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox (over 41 in Cougertown), Famke Janssen (same age in X-Men: The Last Stand), Natalie Imbruglia, Susanna Hoffs, Danica Patrick - and this is deliberately excluding Asians or Mexicans. Most women don't have to look old at that age, Dunst just really looks like a 20-a-day smoker with acute veganism.
@@OsellaSquadraCorse most women
@@OsellaSquadraCorse also face lifts and plastic surgery keeps many of them looking young, not all but most
I can't fathom how anybody thought she was pretty to begin with. She has a very weird looking face.
The entirety of the press attacks one side relentlessly and then complains when The President has the audacity to return the favor.
14:30 'Wood Carving Partita' playing in the background, exquisite taste.
My biggest takeaway from this movie is that journalists are heartless and soulless.
literally the point
That was the point, Nerdrodic just being biased
Yeah and he points they are not heroes lol
Is it REALLY a dystopia if people are still able to get gasoline, an unending supply of bullets, clothes, and equipment, but oddly enough no one has a single frag grenade and only one guy in the entire film gas a flash-bang and he wastes it?
Ironically, Zombieland portrayed it better; and that was a low-budget comedy!
Dystopian doesn’t mean apocalypse, it just means that it’s a not so great future.
1:39 Warcraft 2 in background.
Nostalgic.
Yes. It makes everything better.
LOVE the Castlevania music toward the end!!!! GOOD SHIT!
Come on! "Dollar Store Pedro Pascal?" Get real! Pedro Pascal IS ALREADY Dollar Store Pedro Pascal!
Fair point.
Huge L on Nerdrotic's part. Guy doesn't know his stuff if he doesn't know Pablo Escobar or Captain Nascimento
The man is solid. Mando makes bank without hair and make-up 😅
Lol Pedro Pascal is discount Diego Luna as far as I'm concerned 😂😂😂
What about Chinese bootleg Pedro Pascal?
he said he was from hong kong because of his unswerving honesty, something joumalists are well known for
It was because he was obviously pissing his pants in fear...people dont make the best decisions when someone is pointing a gun at you (and just shot your friend)
Hey dollar store Pedro Pascal was death in puss in boots 2. He was actually good in that movie.
Wagner Moura is an excellent actor, Gary dropped the ball in this one
@igd1315
And Wagner played Pablo Escobar in Narcos. Probably his most famous role. Dude gave me chills in that 1st intro scene. He's a fantastic actor. Gary really dropped HARD lol.
I think all the actors in this film are pretty good (to say the least). But good acting is meaningless in a movie where everything else falls apart.
6:52 Tim Pool pointed out that the "plain-clothed armed people" are meant to be the Boogaloo Bois. I admit my political ignorance here, because I'd never heard of them until now, but looking them up, their Hawaiian shirts are a dead giveaway.
Imagine the lack of awareness and knowledge to make the heroes of the film JOURNALISTS. I can hardly think of a profession that has been more discredited during the last twenty plus years, outside of politicians!
Car Salesmen.
Maybe the film is an aspirational tale to show the press what it was about and what it needs to return to...
Professions that you're probably OK pre-judging: journalists, politicians, lawyers, car salesmen, real estate agents, academics in social sciences, anyone with DEI in their title...
OMFG Ryan in the Pharaoh gear shot was PRICELESS!
“wE wUz KaNgZ nd sHiEt”!
😂😂😂
This film was excellent, and it portrayed how journalists should operate. It was never reflective of what they do in the real world, just like the film’s politics.
Would have been more entertaining if the main character was an obnoxious kick streamer.
Sorry, journalists. LOL
The gun nerd in me is screaming about the lack of trigger discipline, then I remember this is Hollyweird, and the same town that produce the killer movie "Rust"...
Yeah and the Barrett M107 .50 cal BMG in the sniper scene kicked like a BB gun...🤣
All geared up with camouflage, body armor, explosives, and automatic firearms but no one is wearing hearing protection 🤔
A Cold Civil War...
Not surprising when more than half of Americans right now couldn't start a fire without a UA-cam tutorial.
Aw, man, I don't want a cold war, I wanna See some action
FBI and DNC funded this movie.
Even then, they would buy 5.56 for their 7.62 and still try to fire it.
As an Eagle Scout, this is painfully true. I feel like if America ever had a war on our soils, we’d be the only ones left with a modicum of basic survival skills.
@@Dr.Cosmar you can fire a 5.56 out of a 7.62 barrel what you mean is the other way round.
Ironically, this movie perfectly illustrates the political situation in the United States. It is so afraid of picking a side and being attacked for it that it ends up saying nothing at all. Just like so many of us. It's easy to speak candidly behind a screen of anonymity, like we do here, but once we go to work and have to leave that screen behind, we shut up or run the risk of losing our jobs. The true tragedy of this civil war isn't quantified by the hateful things we say, but in the things we are afraid to say out of fear of being hated.
"It’s easy to speak candidly behind a screen of anonymity" that pretty much sums up the entire comment section of people criticising about the right wing villainising. Which isn’t even something really spoken on im the movie. It’s just so fucked today.
This entire movies premise, is that journalists are completely necessary in our society, then proceeds to make them look like adrenaline junky sociopaths who could care less what happens to the people around them, let alone their colleagues.
I guess you have never heard of war photography or watched Discovery/National Geographic.
I knew this movie was going to be complete nonsense when they decided California and Texas would ever, in any capacity, join forces for ANYTHING.
that's way more believable than journalists being heroes. i live in CA. outside of the urban areas, it's pretty red.
@@icanmakerice Eh not as Red as you would like it given all the ridiculous laws CA has. That's why they leave for Texas.
Post San Andreas faultline California...? Maybe?
@@icanmakerice lmao
Texas & California are at the top for most population, military personnel & bases.
Tim pool said, it captured the depravity of journalist's perfectly.
I loved the movie. It depicts the stupidity of war, especially when it is brother against brother.
Honorable journalists?
Texas and California join forces?
This is obviously a fantasy film.
Where are the dragons? 🐉🐉🐉
I'm tempted to watch the movie for fanfic material. But the movie might bore me to sleep.
@@srichael2713I highly recommend it. This movie is very good and has relit my interest in alternate history. Ignore everyone saying that this movie is woke or whatever the opposite of woke is, this movie isn’t political at all if you’re worried about that. I was personally staring at the screen the entire movie, I actually ran when I had to use the restroom lol.
It's kind of sad that Kirsten Dunst best performance was in Interview With The Vampire, when she was eleven.
I dunno man, her breasteses were pretty good in Melancholia…
bring it on is a guilty pleasure.
5:45 … “SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT THE FAWK UPP” 😂😂😂😂😂 i keep replying that bit
Perhaps the perfect formula for this movie would’ve been: three kings + nightcrawler + John Wick
I told my wife during the movie that "If CNN made a movie about themselves this is how it would look like."
They wanted us to appreciate how dangerous and difficult it is to be a journalist and how their job is just to record, take pictures and let the people determine what is real/true. Ideally that's how it should be BUT today's media is the opposite. In fact, the media is at fault for the division and hate ( by pushing false narratives) in this country. I saw a lot of Hollywood political messaging which made me want to get out of the theaters. lol
The movie is literally not about politics. It's about journalists reacting to horrible events happening around them. They react to both, Western forces and perceived "right wing dudes" horrifyingly. At no point in the film do they take sides. Its about society looking inwards and becoming soulless, hence the character of young girl being stupid and essentially become villain of the entire thing. Journalists are not depicted as heroes here. If you think they were, then you missed whole plot of the film.
The thumbnail once again proves the ultimate truth:
"Yes, they are."
The world is a better place because of SidSweens tweens.
Second Nerdrotic video I'm watching "they are" in the thumbnail. This will not end well...
Kirsten dunst looks like she is 50
Meh, she looks her age .... those women you see looking all smooth and looking 15 years younger than they actually are ... 80 pounds of makeup and 250K worth of plastic surgery.
