I recently bought a hardtail after riding my Ogre around yarra trails and the gorge for so long, so these videos have been great to make more sense of some of the more technical and rougher lines. Thanks bud!
Good stuff. Note that these trails are closed at the moment due to the recent fire. Everything north of Gorge road is fine. I’ve got a video on the Norge too
That was a nice blast down memory lane, I really miss those trails! I had a look at some of my old strava rides and saw that some of my top ten placements have been beaten....I need to get back.
For me it was 5 years' absence from road cycling after the birth of my first child. Be happy in the knowledge you've got back into it so soon. Well done
Thanks Raph! Yes, I'd love to do one of those. Will put it on the to-do. Have you seen my previous Silvan ride video? It's got a link to my Strava ride on there as well ua-cam.com/video/dO8QTlSNfKA/v-deo.html
Congrats on the new arrival mate! One of my great pleasures is now being to be able to go out riding with my 13 year old son. I still have the fitness / skills advantage over him, but watching him already go bigger than I ever did is sobering.... Thanks for these videos, they’re ultra informative, and your conversational style whilst riding really gives another dimension to the trail. Oh, and make sure you give your wife opportunities to get out of her house as well for some “personal time” = will pay untold dividends for you down the line😜
bonesx165 thanks for the feedback. Ah that sounds great, I’m sure you can’t help be proud! Can’t wait till my one gets on a balance bike. Good tip are time off for the wife too 👍
There are people who ride CX/gravel bikes in the gorge but this is one of the roughest loops in the park. I’d be more inclined to start out riding near the tank and take it from there
Would you recommend plenty gorge for a new mountain bike rider? You are hammering through the trails ! It's my local so wondering if I should start here (once I get a mountain bike!)
Booki yes I would but maybe not this particular loop. Start at the water tank near the main car park (search plenty gorge mtb parking on Google). There is a nice chill loop there that is good for beginners. DM me on insta if you need help finding the trails
Long and Winding thanks so much! I honestly don’t know how you only have less than 1k subs, you content is actually like stuff you’d see from bigger channels.
@@uNkieTee Thanks! Try the trails near the water tank on a CX bike - they're probably the best suited. Google Plenty Gorge MTB Parking and go from there
@@longandwinding hey can I ask you about something. You have hit a lines first gap right? (99.9999% you have) is it hard because I wanna hit it. Do you know after every trail at jump area place you go down there are little jumps. I hit the one with the big grave in it and im looking to hit the next gap. Sorry for the long comment
heres a deal/ ill show you the alpines if you show me the whole of plenty gorge in a big loop... can never succeed in doing it the whole loop always get lost lol
A complete loop of Plenty Gorge including Norge is a massive undertaking - and yes it's a real rabbit warren in there. Keep an eye out for a group ride coming soon!
I’ve been told about this place but never have ridden it . Looks terrific .
Congratulations on your baby as well.
joseph iturra you should check it out and thanks!
Definitely looks good reminds me of the Djewarrah trail not far from my house .
This must be one of your best videos yet. I think having the maps and trails info, where to park is really a bonus keep up the good work mate 👍
Lewis Gorski good feedback! Will keep the maps comin
cheers for the clips🙌🏼🤟🏼
Blair Cass thanks for the shreds!

Good to hear Tom. Line choice is super important on these trails. Enjoy!
Congrats man the best thing ever becoming a dad !
Rob Allen thanks! It sure is amazing
Thanks for uploading this, I’m going to try to head up there this week. Nice to know what to expect.

@@longandwinding thanks, I thought that they had reopen. I'll head a little further north.

JasonInMelbourne oh wow. Yes I think we’ve been lucky
Congrats on the kid!
Would love to see a full silvan guide. Like a how to get to trails and what trails to do kind of video.

I am really close to the gorge and I have only been there once so far but it is a great place to practice, love the vid!
Thanks and enjoy!
Great video, thanks for putting the Strava link up. Good to know how to access the trail heads/parking.
Stuart Wakefield good stuff, thanks
Really nice rides 👍 and great content
Thanks!

zabagor thanks!
How do you not have over 100k already? Loved the video btw 👍
Jackson McPhee thanks!
Awesome video mate. Would you recommend taking a gravel bike with 700x42 tyres over there?

are there any jump trails in the gorge? or just jumps in general apart from the one you showed at the start?
Anf0 TV no real jump trails as such, more just a few jumps at the south end of the park
Long and Winding thanks so much! I honestly don’t know how you only have less than 1k subs, you content is actually like stuff you’d see from bigger channels.
Anf0 TV thanks, I guess I’ve only been going a year now so 600 in that time is pretty good but I’ve got big plans!
Hey mate, we about are those jumps that you met the kids at?
Just near the start / finish point of this ride. See Strava link in description
I saw you the other day but didn’t know your channel, so bummed I didn’t say hi
Oh bummer, maybe we'll meet on the trail again some time
about merch you should do stickers of you riding jumps mid air and other cool things that dont leave freakin residue on your bike or gear
20 kms from home and I have never ridden the gorge. Maybe this weekend....
Krafty Pixel get stuck in!
I'll let you know how I go on the CX bike. Looks like a lot of fun. BTW congratulations on becoming a Dadda.

Sup man, steezy video! Could you please make a video of the new trail at Quarry Park in Footscray and give some feedback on it? :)
Luke Blazevic coming very soon!

lucas cerchiara agreed!
I would be up for a T-shirt, love to support fellow local yters, I payed a ridiculous amount for a 'Seths bike hack' tshirt 🙂

Haha, good feedback!
