It’s such a shame this game is getting overshadowed by so many other big releases, it’s genuinely a really fun time and perfectly showcases how impressive the Joy-Cons can be when used in the right way!
To be fair it was never going to light the gaming world on fire. But yeah it more just makes it harder to justify buying Inbetween releases like Wonder, Spider-Man and Mario RPG
@@ts7844 It works pretty well for me for the most part. Idk why it didn’t work for you, maybe there’s an issue with the gyro of your Joy-Cons? Also niche doesn’t equal bad lol.
Just finished this game today. Almost completely forgot it was coming out and now I would genuinely say it’s one of my games of the year. So much use of the joycons that we haven’t really seen since launch year. And I loved it
I was playing WarioWare gold the other day, an I realized I really miss the classic bitcrushed sound design. It added a lot of personality to the series that I think it lacks these days.
It uses the motion controls in pretty clever ways. Although I find the game lacks a bit of replay value as there doesn’t seem to be any missions or the flower medals.
Smooth Moves actually had some pretty impressive motion controls, considering the lack of motion+. I remember one microgame (Wiipeat After Me!) where you rotate the wiimote in all directions and the on-screen wiimote rotates along with it 1-to-1. It blew my mind as a kid. I imagine you'd get noticeable drift if that game lasted longer than a few seconds though.
I'm a bit disappointed they dropped the achievement system from Gold and Get It Together. Those things held me over for like a month in those games, but as much as I like Move It I feel like I'm done after just the weekend.
I'm so glad to see you have such a loving view on the game!! I've seen it so overshadowed by voice actor debacle so I'm very happy to feel hype for it again!!
Smooth Moves was one of, if not my favorite WarioWare game, so this game being basically a spiritual successor is really cool to see. I think this warrants existing on Switch despite Get It Together releasing earlier.
My first experience with the game was unfortunately a little rusty to start with, and I put it down as the controls not working. However, after some time I understood and realised it was more my fault not copying the moves accurately. Heads up that in order for the motion controls to work, you must look very carefully and study what direction and style to hold the joycons. It may take a while for some, but as soon as you get it, the game is really damn fun and has creative ways of using joycon technology! It's pretty much Smooth Moves 2, but more accurate, so therefore more challenging in areas.
One thing I found while playing is that the form tutorials are crucial in understanding what to do. I started out playing co-op with my girlfriend who rarely plays games, and we were having a blast with everything being intuitive. Another day we ended up replaying a couple of levels I had played on my own in which the tutorial was missing. I cannot stress how difficult it is to explain how hand model works in the midst of trying to play the game. It was funny for us but I can see people being annoyed with that aspect. Regardless, the game has been so much fun and its the type of game where when my gf and I are together, it's something she's excited to play without me even asking her. That's how I know this game is special.
i am in a similar boat, i absolutely loved smooth moves and i was HYPED seeing that pretty much a proper sequel to it was releasing, i started and beat all the main modes yesterday... unfortunately its hard to disagree that it lacks on the single player activities, but today i began backtracking stages to get all micro games and i am having a lot of fun actually. its a shame some proper ingame objectives that existed before are now gone, like an actual goal for you to get per stage, and per micro game, now each microgame on the musuem you play its 3 levels and that's it... there's no endless mode of that... but im aiming for my personal bests of AT LEAST making it to the level 3 boss stage on each character for my self completion criteria i do know it'll be really fun to enjoy with friends, but that'll have to wait a few weeks or months before i get a chance to try it
This new entry in the Warioware serie is really damn fun and basically the sequel to Smooth Moves, but I found it kinda sad and disappointing how very little it had in fun extra unlocks making the singleplayer not have more meat to it than it should have in my opinion. I can understand why it's having some negative reviews regarding the content lenght not matching up to the 50 buck prices and if you don't have friends to have local multiplayer with which is one of the bigger point you can miss out on that game.
I already really enjoyed Get It Together so it's really great to hear that there's now two great WarioWare gwmes on one console. I think the last time that happened was the GBA And we in Europe never got Twisted (we need that on NSO Nintendo!).
It's been so hilarious and frustrating watching other people play this game, especially when they don't understand how the IR camera works or that you actually have to _move_ your body.
Get it together had its problems but I loved how it had that weekly online mode. This game is great but I do wish it had a similar online mode/leaderboards
Ba-KAW is one of the hardest forms to do, especially with the games: Mountain Man and Sleight of Hand where you have to swap the joy-con near your nose with the joy con near your rear. It was difficult for the Switch to register the controls.
For me, its my favourite in series. I largely play WarioWare for the multiplayer options and this one offers the silliest, most inventive and most varied multiplayer of them all, just about beating the GameCube version. I especially love that mini warios boss stage is back as a four player dance off 😂 Though I'll always love Wobbly Bobbly from Mega Party Game$, Sketch from Game&Wario and Bungee Buddies from Smooth Moves.
My boyfriend and I have been playing through the story in co-op mode which has been interesting. As much as we’re loving the game though, even when there’s no doubt in my mind that I’m doing what some of the microgames want of me… that sometimes my movements don’t register. That includes both the more old-school types of microgames and the ones you have to break form. I’m assuming it’s down to user error though, it it’s frustrating sometimes. All in all though, I’m super happy we picked it up!
I enjoyed it but man, the lack of toys & collectables like the OG, Twisted, & Touched had hurts it for me. They added so much personality to the game and were a ton of fun to mess with. Not having them makes the game feel kinda empty. There's not much motivation to keep playing outside of the seeing all the microgames once lol
I absolutely love the inventive ways Move It uses the motion controls and the IR of the joycons. I've been dreaming about something like this since the system was revealed. That said, however, I am sad at the lack of souvenirs in Move It considering how much there was in Gold (and how little there was in Get It Together).
Can Nintendo sponsor a GVG and Nintendo Life collaboration with you and Alex playing WarioWare together again? I really wanna see what this game's multiplayer is like, especially the co-op 😄 (and that video was one of my absolute favorites)
Smooth Moves is definetly better but Move it is still fun. Love how we had Form Baton and Balance Stone in SM and now Form Stones in MI since joycons are essentially a wiimote and Nunchuk fused together. Was a bit sad they didn't bring the guy back who did the form descriptions in Smooth Moves because he was so on point with his delivery. The form descriptions in Move it do thier own thing but don't hit as hard imo. Nailed how I feel with the forms not being as simple and having to "break form". There were a lot of games where I was like what do you want me to do or that wasn't clear enough. Fun game still. My top 3 Smooth Moves Touched Mega Party Games Haven't played Gold or Twisted yet.
I am amazed that Jon hasn't done a quick video on Murasame Castle coming to Switch Online unless I missed it. As for WarioWare I am going to get it to play with my nephews and nieces but I think some of the more complex stuff at the end might be a little hard for my youngest niece so I will have have to play some of the simpler stuff from the beginning with her.
My ranking for the games I have played: Gold > Smooth Moves > Twisted! > Touched! > WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames! > Move It! > Get It Together! > D.I.Y. > Snapped! > Mega Party Games! > D.I.Y. Showcase
This game looks amazing. Can't justify buying another game atm but I'm hoping to get it for Christmas, it looks incredible and would be really fun to play with friends and family
Definitely the best Warioware since smooth moves. I think me not registering what some microgames wanted of me puts it slightly under the prior, but that's a very small nitpick. Amazing game.
This game looks so good, I picked up Smooth Moves a few days ago because I just got Mario Wonder, Spiderman 2, Skyward Sword HD, Atari 50 AND PIKMIN 4 so I thought I should stop buying so many games, and I already have Get it Together. Smooth Moves is awesome, I love it 😅
Honestly, I’m very delighted with how well these mini games work, having way too much fun, however, the Icarus Flying boss stage has got to be the most painful mini game (as far as I know, have plenty of mini games to unlock)
one of the biggest issues i have had with this game is sometimes it would just stop responding to the joy cons forcing a loss. This happened a lot, especially jimmy t's boss game where it would just decide if it wants to work or not. i think it's ok when it works, but to have these issues is a big yikes
Good game just released at the exact wrong time. The controversy for the new voice is still fresh, there are bigger games to play right now, and Get it Together has very likely already cannibalized on the install base of switch users getting into the series for the first time.
I like the game a lot, but it definitely doesn’t hold a candle to Gold when it comes to best WarioWare. The lack of missions is a bummer, and some of the forms feel a little half-baked in certain games
One of my biggest issues with the game is that in 4 player multiplayer each person can only use a single joycon instead of two, which makes the controls a lot less reliable.
This game is one of the best multiplayer offerings on the Switch, I love it. I will say: The motion controls worked mostly flawlessly for me, but the one microgame that had issues for me was the Steak game with the robotic hands. The game expects you to pick up the Joy-Con and flip it over, but sometimes it just… doesn’t register that, or sometimes it doesn’t register being picked up to put on the plate. It’s a cool idea for a micro game, but it’s one of the few that barely worked for me. The rest of the game is genius though. I sort of wish there was more singleplayer content for it being $50, but since I like to go for high scores in WarioWare, I’m pretty satisfied with it.
Dunno if I'll get this game since I'm kinda just...saving my money for other stuff. But ever since this game came out or been previewed, I haven't heard ANYTHING about if the best thing from Smooth Moves came over to this game.... ... That narrator that shows up for new move forms. lol

When the game does work though, it still feels great. just wish it was consistent enough like smooth moves was
I really enjoyed Get it Together, but I got maybe 2 hours out of the demo, 90 mins out of the base game, and then another 3 hours out of multiplayer like 12 months later. I’m just worried that it’s going to be the same with practically nothing to do out of the main story. Because no matter how good the game is, that’s awfully little content for the asking price. Not to mention multiplayer may be off the cards since I dont have 4 joycons…
Yeah this is easily one of the best wario ware games. It’s right up there with wario ware gold👍 plus it reminded me the camera on the joycon was a thing😅
Jon's enthusiasm for nintendo's wacky side is so infectious as usual... thought I'd convinced myself I didn't need this game, now I'm thinking otherwise😅
Its a great two player game! I wish there was more content though… like 9-Volts mum could have had her own set of retro games. There hasnt been a new main character in ages. There is only one board in the Mario Party mode. And compared to Get It Together, it has way worse graphics and music and less charme overall. Some more time, effort and love, and this game could have been the best game in the series.
Uh... no. One of the worst WarioWare games, actually. It sacrifices a lot of single player content and the controls and mechanics of the microgames are way more complex and less intuitive than previous games, which kills a lot of the appeal for multiplayer sessions with nom gamers.
I wish it were But bad motion control issues hinder it I guess that is why the second chance pose is so forgiving? I played with 7 people and found out my hands are too big for the joy con camera to accurately read Still we had a lot of fun rotating our way through the story Looking forward to future multiplayer nights
I wish I wouldn’t have sold my copy of DIY. I has made a Ghostbusters, Simpsons and Itchy and Scratchy mini games. I also created my own music for each of them. What a fantastic game! So much replayability.
It does work on the lite but not with a pro controller, you need a pair of Joy-Cons in order for the game to work. It’s weird, you’d think they would have a button mode for people who can’t do motion because of not liking motion controls, not having enough room, or a disability.
Move It is _only_ compatible with detached joycon, it doesn't support handheld/pro controller use. The only way to play it on a lite would be to sync separate joycon to it and play it in tabletop mode
Its super fun but there is nothing after the story except the endless play thing. Disappointing :C But the content that is there is amazing. People who say motion controls are inaccurate have a skill or brain issue
It’s such a shame this game is getting overshadowed by so many other big releases, it’s genuinely a really fun time and perfectly showcases how impressive the Joy-Cons can be when used in the right way!

The game isn’t good though. The motion controls are janky as hell and ends up being a really niche game.
@@ts7844 It works pretty well for me for the most part. Idk why it didn’t work for you, maybe there’s an issue with the gyro of your Joy-Cons? Also niche doesn’t equal bad lol.
@@gamerletter1986 ‘for the most part’ I rest my case. The game should be half the price.

Just a touch ironic that “the big cheese” was used as the complicated example even though its in both games 😅
“In a series of nothing but greats…and Snapped.”
True words of wisdom, Jon.

Well, considering its japanese name is 超おどるメイドインワリオ (超=super, おどるメイドインワリオ=Japanese name of Warioware Smooth moves)...

honestly, I wish I had the ability to play this, but alas, I'm stuck to a wheelchair, and my right hand is pretty much useless.
Whats the song in the outro?
I feel alone in saying the motion controls precision ruined the enjoyment for me.
The reason I failed some of the Micro-games was because I didn’t hold the joy con on the correct side. I still find 3D micro games in warioware novel. Even in the year 2023.
First time i learned the joy cons have a hand scanner thing on it😅(what other game even use that 😅?)
I think Move It is a great game, although it doesn’t even come close to Get It Together. That is one of the greatest Switch Games, maybe in my top 5

I played with 7 people and found out my hands are too big for the joy con camera to accurately read
Still we had a lot of fun rotating our way through the story
Looking forward to future multiplayer nights
Agreed. Best adhd game
WarioWare Do It Yourself
I wish I wouldn’t have sold my copy of DIY. I has made a Ghostbusters, Simpsons and Itchy and Scratchy mini games. I also created my own music for each of them. What a fantastic game! So much replayability.
I love it, but maaaaan those IR games never work
Does anyone know if this is playable on Switch Lite and Pro Controller, and if so, how it works on those setups?
It does work on the lite but not with a pro controller, you need a pair of Joy-Cons in order for the game to work. It’s weird, you’d think they would have a button mode for people who can’t do motion because of not liking motion controls, not having enough room, or a disability.
That is far from ideal honestly. Thanks though!
@@gamerletter1986there is just no way to translate this game beyond motion controls
@@sirensongss They could potentially get most of the microgames working with the sticks and buttons, but yea I see what you mean.
Move It is _only_ compatible with detached joycon, it doesn't support handheld/pro controller use. The only way to play it on a lite would be to sync separate joycon to it and play it in tabletop mode
I like it a lot, but still not as good as Smooth Moves imo. Felt like SM was funnier and just had better microgames, and more levels.
Hiii !!
Move It is great but Gold is still the best one imo
Great game
💜‼️🤠
No
Its super fun but there is nothing after the story except the endless play thing. Disappointing :C But the content that is there is amazing. People who say motion controls are inaccurate have a skill or brain issue
There are some more extra modes like a pyoro game and a water gun game as well as tons of multi-player modes if you have people with you
Oh yeah i was talking about single player content~ No idea whats behind those X'd out modes that are only for multiplayer
