Update: I've gotten the blue headed Pionus. Great bird! He bonded with me the first 2 hrs. The fastest bird to form a bond with me. Took about 10 minutes to come out of his little box and about 2 hrs until he came to me out of curiosity. I must say, they're the easiest birds to have. So not noisy.
The Senegal chose me at the bird store. I love him so much and I really want to take him home soon. Thank you so much for your videos! My mother and I love them and they help so much! We are hoping that you will return to UA-cam to give us more videos. 😄
Hey man! Love your vids as always, keep it up! There's one thing I feel like I need to advise. I think the music you pick is awesome and it's something of my taste as well BUT sometimes it's a bit too energetic and loud, so after like 2-3 min I realized that I was listening to music and looking at you and the parrot but didn't pick up a single word of what you were saying so as a result, I had to go over these 3 mins again. My little piece of advice would be to experiment with the background music a bit more, perhaps some ambient-like music, or generally just slower music like chillstep would fit better. I hope you get what I mean haha Thanks for your vids and stay awesome!
I should be getting a 2 year old blue indian ringneck parakeet from a breeder, but instead i went for a 14 weeks old bng macaw(still handfeeding); that they bred too. it is the best decision i ever made! I say give the other birds a chance! you'll never know until it called to you.
I was planning on getting a handr raised cockatiel or conure and ended up getting an Indian Ringneck that was terrified of people. Best decision I ever made, she is the sweetest most cuddly bird ever now and I've only had her 9 weeks. Still nervous around anyone else though
I absolutely 💯 agree with you that it’s not just which bird you like but it is which bird likes you. To make a really long story short, I wanted an Indian Ring Neck but I ended up with a Pineapple Conure that wasn’t exactly the prettiest bird to choose from and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. My bird definitely chose me!!!!! I didn’t choose him and I don’t regret it at all! I LOVE MY LITTLE BABY!!!! I have been a dog lover all my life and I am now 41. Man I wish I was into birds before because I would have never gotten my dogs. Which btw I really got the dogs for my wife but guess who ended up with them? Meeeee!!!! Anyway I could keep going on and on about how much I LOVE my conure but if it wasn’t for him choosing me I would have probably just bought a bird that I liked the way it looked and I would be kicking myself in the butt right now telling a different story. It’s funny how things work out. I never thought I would have been into birds but here I am. I really enjoy your videos so please keep them coming. I think it should be mandatory that whoever wants to get a parrot for the 1st time that they HAVE to subscribe to you and watch your videos. You hit on soooo many important topics / tips that a lot of others don’t talk about. So thank you because I am still learning.
Which beginner bird do you recommend for a climate like Pakistan's where summer temperatures can reach about 25,26 to 38 dergees celsius, above 40 rarely but can happen, and winter temperatures can go as low as 4 degrees celsius for some time. Autumn and spring here are pretty normal temperatures ranging from 20 to 30 degrees celsius. Of course during the winter we have a heater with us. An apartment friendly bird like the Pionus or Meyer's parrots, similar to these is what I'm looking for.
That's pretty normal weather. When it gets cold near freezing, some parrots can acclimate to that, but that varies by species and I would say it's safer to just bring the parrot inside.
My quaker is used to me touching and kissing him, but he doesn’t stay on my hand or shoulder for long. He always flies and sits on top of the curtains, how can I stop this?
Hi my next parrot will be a rescue birds I will buy a house and rescue birds.my angel is 28 years old a yellow nape amazon parrot.Happy Easter to you may it be your best Easter ever have a wonderful day
When you say to give them their own space the 1st day, do you mean to keep the cage shut so that they have a closed space? Or should you still let them out in the bedroom?
Where do you suggest buying a parrot? This is why first time, and I’m I’m pretty set on getting a Green-cheeked conure. I’m in the process of doing lots of research! So what place do you think is best? Like PetCo, a breeder, etc?
I definitely would avoid big box stores as most of them do not treat the birds well. I would recommend a good bird store that keeps the birds out in a petting zoo set up, or from a breeder directly.
@@Fivesaflock one more question, once I get my bird should I take them straight to the vet from the adoption center to get a check-up, or when’s the first time I should take my bird to the vet?
Can you please make a video about lories? i'm in love with their vibrant colors and planning the get one 😄 some people said that they're the stickiest parrot due to their diet.
From my research, the parrot prices are way higher right now than they used to be. I also cannot find a Pionus breeder or any Pionus Parrots near me. I live in LA and I am willing to travel within 100+ mile radius.
I went to a breeder to meet different birds but when I first walked in I saw this Indian Ringneck and instantly fell in love. Before hearing anything about her I had decided that she was coming home with me. She was terrified of people and wasn't used to being out of the cage or any interaction. It only took about 2 weeks for her to start coming to me and climbing all over me (I never approached her, just spent all of my time in the same room doing my own thing). Now I have had her 9 weeks and she is always wanting cuddles and head scratches. she is about 7 months old DNA tested female. she is starting to copy the patterns of words, is very playful, favourite colour is dark purple, loves swings and anything she can hang off of, loves climbing, obsessed with paddle pop sticks, will eat anything that she sees me eat first, will play with any toy that she sees me play with first (kind of like seeing me do these things reassures her that its safe for her to do the same). She still gets really nervous when other people come in the room but we are working on it. She is also my first bird and I was planning on getting a cockatiel or a conure but she has turned out to be the perfect bird for me
That's AMAZING to hear! Keep it up! If your ringneck has yet to go through its bluffing phase, get ready for it. Keep interacting with it and it'll get over it and go back to being sweet for the rest of its life.
I think I would get an Indian ring necks, too. What color is yours? A whole room of them reminds me of Easter eggs. They are the best talkers. Have you ever seen Chatterbox Parrots here on You Tube? You’ll see how precocious they can be. Have fun!
The bigger the cage, the better, but.... they also need to know about bar spacing and not get one with 1" spacing for a small bird, otherwise, very good info.
Yeah totally. Kinda touched on it originally but had it cut out as I'd rather get into more detail on a cage specific video breaking it all down vs leaving people hanging.
1st time bird owner here I bought a bald eagle thibk thats a good pet an 1st time bird purchase? Lol I'm joking of course I got a hand fed baby pineapple green cheek conure and she awesome 4 month old feather baby doing different stuff all the time an my bird wanted me to pet her rite away she didn't want nothing to do with the cage
I spoke to the only bronze wing Pionus breeder in the US and he mentioned your video specifically when referencing the shortage of birds available for purchase. You made too much business for him.
@@WolfA4 Your problem is going to be importing the parrot. Imports are banned except for specific exemptions, plus they have to go through quarantine where they get heavily abused and most imports die during the process. That's what really sucks about all this.
@@Fivesaflock He didn’t say that he was flying back, did he? He should go to Colombia and buy a bronze pionus and a small villa so they can live together. Simple.

thanks for the advice! I'll look it over
I’ll get a green cheek conure and this helps a lot I just want to know if green cheeks and cockatiels and budgie can be friends
With work, it's possible, but it's really down to the birds' personalities. My Cockatiel and Green Cheek are indifferent to each other.
@@Fivesaflock cool thx
Yes I am indeed great
Hi I’m not sure about cockatiels but my boyfriend has a budgie and a Green cheek and their best friends

I have 2 budgies they are very sweet, thanks for the good information.

Another video that would be really helpful is buying a parrot from a store/breeder vs adopting a parrot from a sanctuary
How much does a Pacific parrotlet cost
I'm getting a green cheek conure, it's not my first bird. i doubt it will be my last either

Where to buy the parrot or adopt
Can u show us there cages in a vid plz
Yeah! I'll get to it when I do a video on cages.
How do you handle the pooping when you take your bird out of the house?
You just get used to it, or you can potty train

What do you do when you travel and cant take your birds with you.
Good idea for a video. But basically look up parrot hotels. Generally stores that sell parrots also offer hotel space
