  • Daryl and Craig catch up to check out the progress on the Fast and the Furious Supra engine build. It's been a long time since Craig has driven a Supra so Daryl hands over the keys. What does Craig think of our Project Supra?

You recently asked about intros, and actually wrote back to my response to be honest just coming into the "action" like you did in this video works good as well.

I still enjoy a nice and shiny engine bay, I think it looks just great.

Wouldn't it be cool if Craig DID build his "new version" of a modern supra interpretation

Whats the deal with the Project Mu caliper in the opening shot? Looks like its damaged or something. As soon as I seen the teal color I knew they were some Project Mu calipers, was stationed down the road from one of their garages at Yokota.
Loved their stuff, had a set of their calipers on both my JZX90 Mark II's, and my JZX100 Chaser.

    • @JustDriven
      @JustDriven  2 роки тому +1

That's COOL! The calipers are not brand new. They came off a previous project. The rear brakes are a bit "special!"

@@JustDriven I spent alot of time in Japan from 2009-2011. Around the drift scene, with the Team Orange guys, Daigo Saito, Robbie Nishida. Adam Zillin from 7tune.
Drifting was the thing to do. Getting paid big money and nothing else to do. So dump it into cars. Plus growing up playing Gran Turismo and wanting to own a Skyline.
Got my chance and enjoyed it. Once the initial hype dies down on the JZX100 once its legal for import, I'll pick one up or a JZX90. Love those big body toyotas

    • @JustDriven

That sounds amazing! We actually have three JZX90s. We have a video on our channel from when we first tried to figure out what all the differences were.

@@JustDriven It's been 10 years, but IIRC just mostly options and trim levels. I think the Chaser was the high trim sporty one, mark 2 was the middle and Cresta was the lower trim car.
I remember seeing alot of boring trims on the Cresta and it being the harder one to find with a turbo 1J. Where the Mark 2 and Chaser were always around with a turbo 1J or even an NA 1J, at least in stock form.
It was japan's bubble era, they did alot of crazy stuff just like american manufacturers do. Just look at the suburban, yukon and escalade. Same vehicle 3 different versions and price points. The JZX90 wasn't much different.
3 versions, 3 different price points.
The Japanese bubble era gave the world some of its most loved sports and luxury cars, and even 25 years later, those very same cars are still popular.
My JZX90 Mark II daily, the tourer S(NA 1J vs the Tourer V's Turbo 1J) had an air purifier in the rear deck. I still haven't seen a car that has one. That car was a 95. Had Japan's economy carried on, we'd might have seen some really interesting things in cars.
Even in 2010, I remember seeing alot of Japanese people had flip out screen radios that was able to pick up TV in car. Seen it alot going up and down the highways. People would get stuck in traffic, and all of sudden they're watching TV.
