Hi! My name is Leonie and I am a 24 year old girl who loves talking about books! From YA to non-fiction to classics, I read it all (although fantasy will always be my fave). I live in the Netherlands and go to university, but make booktube videos in my spare time :)

Leonie you know what? I was having a bad day and I was like um let's watch someone relaxing, and then I remembered how you were my comfort UA-camr and was JUST THINKING about watching your old vids and then bam you posted. I love your content so much ✨
Omg same
I love how you review books. It’s not just about books. I love watching you do stuff and talk random things. It’s so relaxing. ❤️❤️❤️
Yeah bro her style is lit..
Her lighting situation has grown on me. I will be sad if it gets fixed.
@@nazahafreen yeah, her light is soo calming. And also she is very beautiful! 😊
I think it's safe to say Leonie's channel in its entirety embodies cozy fall vibes. So pleasing to watch. Every time. Go leonieeee !!!! 💪💪✌️
"go wash your dishes, make them clean! you're doing really well folding that laundry"
Never knew I needed that hype up even though I actually am watching you with my full, undivided attention, and am ignoring my dishes 😎
Yes TOR has picked The Atlas Six so starting next year, it’s gonna be a slightly different version than this self-published version. And that means Olivie will have the benefit of having editors and more. I did get this version so I can compare it to the new version next year, so that’s exciting.
seeing you talk about piranesi warms my heart!! susanna clarke is my favourite author, and yes I think piranesi fits the autumn vibes perfectly
Your creativity is insane !! But tbh I just realized that your channel is literally just like lofi for me...cozy, relaxing but also makes me wanna do things and be productive but in a really chill way
It might be weird, but I really like the feeling of knowing your room. Like, I know where we are, I know what is off camera and it somehow is very conforting. Thanks for this video, love the vibe :D
Personally my favorite videos are the ones when you draw while you talk about a books! I found them super creative and unique
I highly recommend the game “Gris” for Nintendo Switch, if you haven’t played it already!! It is such a beautiful game and it actually made me cry, even though it has no speech haha 😅 It only takes a few hours to complete!
Omg I loveeee Gris!!! Such an masterpiece
I loved how chill this reading wrap up was, Leonie. My favorite read from the past two months is a toss up between "Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro and "Circe" by Madeline Miller. Two very different books which I massively enjoyed for different reasons.
I read Circe just last month, and I'm so glad I decided to read it. Madeline Miller has a great command of words and descriptions to make a story so compelling. I couldn't put it down! It's definitely my favorite standalone as of now.
I literally can’t do anything without something in the background and these are the best to put on. lol. Thanks for the cozy vibes!! 💛
Your editing is so beautiful! And the vibes the video title and intro is giving me is so cozy/fall like.
Love you and your content! All of your book recommendations are so reliable! Lots of love! ❤️❤️🔥💖🥺
Your videos are just a source of the best vibes possible. The purple and warm light together!
I read The Yellow Wallpaper when I was a senior in high school for one of my AP English classes and we had absolutely no context for it. So when we got to the end, the whole class was absolutely shocked and I have very fond memories of looking at my friend with a gaping mouth and being like "what the heck did we just read??" Very good, very interesting for class discussions, lots to analyze, and great starter for discussions about women's oppression by medical professionals. It's not exactly horror the way that the word horror usually invokes, but it's definitely a little twisted.
I also heard that the author sent that story to the doctor who told her this stuff and the doctor revised his practice bc of it. Not sure if its too but hope it is
I've been binge watching your old videos recently and I'm so glad you uploaded today!!♡
I really recommend Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke! It has really good characters and the most amazing eery spooky vibes. I think you will like it a lot, as you also enjoyed Piranesi.
I just got Piranesi and I can't wait to start it! The premise and artwork are so intriguing :)
This iy my favourite channel atm 💞 I've really been enjoying all of your videos lately. They're perfect to get into to in the morning or chill out to at night after a long work day.
I love your channel and I’m happy I found you! Your videos are so insightful and your voice and accent are so soothing and relaxing! I could listen to you all day!
Yup, wrap-ups are literally perfect for background noise, just people talking about books to you 💓
i finished piranesi last week and loved it! i didnt expect where it was going to go, but i was ready for the ride and loved it!
"you're doing really well doing that laundry" AHAHAHAH I feel caught 🤣❤️best greetings from my pants💃
i love your videos! i got into reading about 6 months ago and i recently found your channel, i love your vibes and your calm voice!! i just started shadow and bone since you always reccomended Leigh Bardugo so I wanted to officially enter the Grishaverse. i’ve had a book hangover for fantasy since i read ACOTAR, and the fantasy i read after didnt live up to the world Sarah J Maas created BUT i’m LOVING shadow and bone so much so far and i’m excited to see how the story progresses through the next two books and the following books in the Grishaverse - I can’t wait to watch some cozy reads on a nice sunday morning :))
It's uncanny how you only talk about books I read and loved, just put on my tbr or LITERALLY BOUGHT TODAY 😄 I LOVE THIS! 💖🤍❤🖤💜
After a week of crap in life, this is exactly the sort of video I needed before waking up tomorrow Monday
Ty so much Leonie ❤️
PS: Am absolutely LOVING the music, ambience and editing in your videos lately it's _chef's kiss_
the lighting and film setup gives me life
So beautiful 💕
I think the thing with Piranesi is that when you are reading the “boring pages” you just KNOW something amazing is going to happen. At least that is how I felt and I loooooooved it
And I am VERY JEALOUS OF YOUR COPY 😡
Your videos are legit 10/10. can‘t describe the vibes I get from them but girl I‘m addicted to your channel! I need more than one video a week from you 😩 ok don’t stress I know you‘re studying! but yeah.. I NEED MORE 🙏🏼
Love the cozy vibes of this blog, perfect for a Sunday watch! Also LOVE Ori, both games were beautiful and so relaxing to play 🥰
Not doing my dishes, just sitting on the sofa on a Sunday morning eating breakfast and listening to you 🥰 loved this video, made me feel all the cozy lofi fall vibes hahaha
Thanks for making the start of my Sunday so great!
yaayyy precisely what I needed, I love your videos so much, the vibes are immaculate
Can confirm as someone who doesn’t usually go for fantasy/magical realism that Piranesi is excellent.. I loved it
Your videos are always so cosy, a perfect way to end the week! I haven't read Piranesi, but just hearing the premise its vibe reminded me a bit of the short story collection Mirror in the Mirror by Michael Ende (I could be very wrong though, hehe 😅). All the stories have surrealistic elements and the book is accompanied by his father's illustrations!
Also, I'm reading Tender is the Flesh right now as well!!! So excited to hear your thoughts after you finish it!
loved this! lighting was perfect- so cozy. exactly what i needed! thank u!
I wrote the 3rd letter of Frankenstein (R.Walton to his sister) with a fountain pen for my cursive practice. Listening to a book chat while writing a letter from a dark academia novel was a "chef's kiss". Please make more of those...
i'm literally folding laundry to this video before you even mentioned it thank you for the support
The yellow wallpaper!! Such an amazing impulse buy 😍
Cooking my dinner with this lovely books chat in the background💗just what i needed!
I gave away my copy of My Year of Rest and Relaxation because I wanted everyone to read it but I miss it and want a beautiful edition to own, I love that cover art!
I love the concept of this video! Please upload more videos like this from time to time. ❤️
love love love this format of video! i could watch/listen to you for hours XD
I feel called out for hanging my laundry while watching youtube videos... or doing any basic activity really :D
Ah...I loved this...
It was drizzling,lately
And this video was just perfect, Leonie ✨❤️
love this podcasty vibe because i did put this one to watch while i paint lol!
This was nice! If you like Ori you would probably enjoy Hollow Knight too! Way more slowpaced, but the aesthetic is adorable and the exploration is great!
I actually bought the yellow wallpaper and read it in September because you kept talking about it. I really liked it!! And by the way it made me so happy when you said that the afterword helped you to understand the story better. It was the same way for me and at first I thought I was stupid because I didn’t really understand everything right after reading the story 😂
‘You’re doing really well, folding that laundry!’ 🥲 thankyou
Loved this video! I would definitely watch more in this format ❤️
Don't think it's particularly dark academia, but library of Alexandria + fantasy made me think of the The Great Library series by Rachel Caine, which overall I really enjoyed!!
Lol, I just read “The Yellow Wallpaper” in my high school creative writing class, as an example of a POV short story!
Ahhh happy sunday with a cozy vlog
This was really nice to listen to
Love your set-up!
14:00 its a vibe
I think my favorite that I’ve read recently is The Darkness Outside Us and Annihilation! I’ve read Atlas Six and I also liked it quite a bit, I think even more because I didn’t have any expectations going in other than being really intrigued by the synopsis. Great video. ☺️
I was so surprised by Piranesi , but I loved it!
Dammit I literally cleaned my house and ate dinner 30 minutes ago😂 however I look forward to enjoying your video while relaxing 🥰
Ori is a great game! Another one to check out is Gris. Absolutely stunning and not too long either.
YESSS, this is just what I needed, I love play videos to do stuff
This is an absolute vibe. I cleaned my room and set up my bulletjournal while watching this. So comfy, so cozy, love it!
OK YES
I DROPPED EVERYTHING
NOW ITS AUTUMN TIME
I picked up My Year of Rest and Relaxation after you reviewed it in your hot girl summer video and what I struggled with in the book wasn’t it being “boring” but that some of the details were absolutely disgusting lol. Moshfegh does not shy away from bodily functions and I listened to the audiobook and nearly gagged at some points lol
Loved this format. Xoxo
Never have I enjoyed folding laundry so much
Tender is the flesh became one of my favourites!
I love this idea omg 😍😍😍😍
THIS IS AN ✨ AESTHETIC✨VIDEO
I'd be super interested in a spoiler video ab Piranesi!!!! Just finished it as well and desperate to discuss
Your videos are so relaxing. And the thumbnail photo looks beautiful
I'm digging purple time tbh 😃
comfort person
Watched this whilst studying for my power circuit class 😬 my priority focus was here lmao. But one of my surprise favourites recently was the Flatshare by Beth O'Leary. First romance book that got me thinking "wait a minute. I should read more romance!" It sounds like you will like it, especially from what I've hear about Get a life Chloe brown. Highly recommend!
Omg I love this video! Please do more of these of you can
I absolutely loved this video!! We love the ✨purple times✨ in this house hahaha. Also Ori is such a cute game! I know there’s a collection of both the first and second instalment coming out on Switch soon and I’m holding out for it!
I'm currently reading Normal People (influenced by one of Leonie's earlier video, of course) and I don't know what the end will do to (not to the characters, because I've seen the TV series) will do to me. So far I'm completely under the impact of this book, sobbing like I haven't in a very long time. These two kids, two young people, oh my heart aches for them.
The other book with a big impact on me that I'm taking a bit slower with, and will probably be with me for a few more weeks, is Cheryl Strayed's Tiny Beautiful Things. It's absolutely brilliant, I read and listen to it at the same time. Touching, shocking, moving.
Def going to pick up, Piranesi - Susanna Clarke it sounds super cool. Also love Ori, they are so cute!!!! For a good horror book for the season have you heard of THINGS HAVE GOTTEN WORSE SINCE WE LAST SPOKE by ERIC LAROCCA. it super cool, short eerie story (sorry i know you said they are not your main jam... but it good i swear.lol)
This was just the coziness I needed
me folding laundry when she called me out: 👁👄👁
Apparently, the Atlas Six is the first book in a series. I think that's the reason why a lot of stuff is so vague~~~
such vibes watching this video! i really like the lightning :) you should def play Gris on your nintendo switch!!
a friend of my started playing that and said it was really good as well!
@@TheBookLeo its SOOO pretty! each frame is a piece of art
i literally started doing chores and i played your video without even reading the title… then u said “i know you watch my videos while doing chores” i was literally shocked lol
I had to read "The Yellow Wallpaper" in college(I live in the US). It sticks with you. That's a wild story. 😳
The purple yellow lighting works somehow
love you. learning english and improving listening skills thanks to you:))
Girl I am on such a similar wavelength as your content lately. These are my types of books, and that Ori game looks and sounds super cute (reminded me a bit of spiritfarer which I will keep pushing until you eventually play it 😂). I just watched OTGW for the first time after being convinced when you talked about it in a vlog.
SO GOOD!! What a weird and cute story 🥺
if i see spiritfarer go on sale i will buy it!!
Oh! Ori is great! What a surprise!
it’s such a cozy set-up behind you 😍😍
btw, I am a small youtuber 🙏🏻
please, don't worry about the light, it's totally vibe!
honestly, I love this type of video so much 😍
I recently read Dune (which I was a little scared to do) and it was so cool, ugh!
also this theme about books that portrait depression made me think about A Little Life. an absolute masterpiece, I'm still a little scared to even pick it up again hehe, but it would be interesting to hear your opinion about it 🤔 but I can't say I 100% recommend it, really hard read
Good choice on Legally Blonde! It's great.
I think I had the opposite reaction to Piranesi. I was captivated by the mysterious world at the beginning but then started to lose interest as the larger story was revealed.
I laughed out loud because I am definitely doing my chores while I watch your videos. I'm sorry!
I really appreciated the way you did this video 😊
The fact i was doing dishes exactly when you said it 😭😭
I love Ori!!
I really related with parts of My Year of Rest and Relaxation, which is mildly concerning lol
I love long videos for the very same reason that you just said, because I’m multitasking
Watching this as I am folding my laundry 🤣
Tender is the Flesh is no joke! I’m still nauseous days after finishing it but also rated it 5 stars because it is so well done. If you can stomach part 1, the plot really picks up in Part 2 ( but don’t get me wrong it’s still really hard to read in part 2 as well).
aww i was just looking for a vid to fold my laundry to :))
exactly my whole thoughts abt TA6 25:27
