You are not only a substantial writer but also an impressive speaker ! I love you very much for both of these qualities and many more as well.... Keep it up for another 25 year for all of us. They shall award you with the Nobel Prize for Literature at last.......
Really? Not one comment? I randomly checked a few other videos: Each author had thousands of views and none or a handful (John Irving received two-3 years apart) of comments. Very puzzling. Since the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic, I’ve been randomly watching and listening to Rushdie interviews and readings on UA-cam and various podcasts at academic institutions. Going backward from his most recent book. . . . Also conversations with eg his good pal Christopher Hitchens (RIP😢). I’m not new to Rushie’s work and, in fact, I have seen him several times. Annually for a few years at the Brooklyn Book Fair that takes place in my hood every fall; and the most recent at Cooper Union, for Quichotte. When an interviewer is as knowledgeable as Joel Whitney and also has the skill to lead the conversation, you get something quite wonderful. This was really terrific, with so much description/explanation about the book as well as sharing thoughts and facts about other authors and history. I learned a lot. And Rushdie is a delightful speaker who is both funny and knows how to cobble words together so impressively even when only speaking. Thank you Joel Whitney and thank you dear Salman Rushdie.
I can't believe you wasted your time watching this fool (Rushdie). He knows how to talk a lot and say nothing at all. Christopher Hitchens was piece of 💩 and he is burning right now.
What a lovely conversation! Currently hooked on Salman Rushdie interviews, they are so entertaining and intellectually satisfying!
Thank you, Maestro. Speedy recocery.
