We had a Tracker when I was a kid, loved it. One time my mom was driving it on a icy road and we somehow ended up on our side in the ditch. A lady stopped and helped unzip the back so we could get out 🤣
I got a tracker sitting flat tires in a probate house for $700 thru probate several years ago and has run like a champ since starting her up in that garage daily driver since. Is 2002 tracker LT 4x4 has treated me well I love it.
I'm so happy to see the Sidekicks and Trackers get love on UA-cam. I have an '03 Tracker that I love. Just gotta get it revived, which will happen MONDAAAAAY!
@@intentionaloffside8934 hopefully he'll update us on that in the next video on this car. can't imagine he didn't investigate further with Josh as to the real story.
My mom used to have this car but it was the normal green version. I'm not sure if its a common issue but this car always had a sensor issue. We would fix 1 sensor and then another sensor would go out. besides that it was a good car
Bought a 2wd tracker, $2k, while stationed in OK. Military shipped it to Turkey. Then shipped it to Hawaii. Cost a ton more in shipping than the car was ever worth. But it was fun to drive. Loved the driving position and the size. Very small but lots of room. Easy to park.... I miss it.
2 door needs a 4wd swap and slightly larger decent all terrain tires, the 4 door needs a little lift, and bigger all terrain tires and some camping gear. Then theyd be a sweet pair of mini overlander trucks!
I have a 2wd as well, trying to find a decent 4wd manual for a swap and it's not easy to find in any decent condition. A lot of the 2wd are surviving bc they weren't made into modded toys. I just want to drive mine in the winter!
@@vikachan19 shouldnt that make it alot easier to do the 4wd swap, buy one wrecked or with a bad engine from being offroaded or whatever, should be cheaper that way, or find someone who is gonna one ton or Toyota swap theirs (22r, 5spd, Toyota tcase and axles), get the mounts, transmission, tcase, and shafts. my 92 jlx had auto hubs. Just pulled the level. as for the single o2 sensor. I think I replaced it 3 times in the life of the sidekick. Starting from 68,000 when I got it to over 200,000 when the engine was worn out.
You could do a lot with this thing. A lift would make it look better, take stickers off, paint it right, right tires and rims, and it’ll be looking like a mini Land Rover
Makes me miss my 88 Samurai I bought new and drive hard for 3 years and never needed anything but normal maintenance. They always had a bad wrap they didn't deserve.
You'd have a blast finding a 1993 subaru legacy turbo. It's turbocharged (obviously) and they're super rare. I had one back in 2001/2002 with a manual 5-spd. Too expensive to fix anything on it as a high school kid so I sold it. I'd be so bold as to say you will never find one lol. But you should try!
Wait, if you go from 4wd to 2wd, you have to go in reverse first to unlock the front wheels. You'll hear a click and that's when it disengages. If you don't, the front wheels will still be engaged.
These had a serious image problem in the UK back in the day, wine bar specials driven by a very specific bleach blonde woman. They are all now either scrapped or mudders but I always kind of liked them...a late one with a V6 would be my pick!
You are the luckiest to have those cars!!! I have had 2 Sidekick jeeps and miss them so much! Did you get the red one from California, 'cuz then it was probably mine! :P :)
Love the sidekick, wish there was a way I knew when you were going to sell. I'd love to roadtrip that thing from national Park to national Park with my wife. Thanks for sharing man. Love the video. Keep doing whatever you want to do!
Do annual maintenance on your Asian hubs and then put a 2” spacer and 2 “ suspension lift on it and then a set of 235 wranglers at Walmart for $80 a piece. Look great and go almost anywhere
they cut the wires to get a socket or box end wrench on there to get it out and couldn't break it loose. I've been there. one time i had to replace the pipe, heating it hot didn't even work, those o2 sockets sometimes crack or spread too.
I had a 1996 Suuki x-90 I loved that thing T tops mine was the 4x4 I really miss it I also had a 1988 suzuki samurai. Have you seen the new 2019 Suzuki Jimny that they sell in different markets of the world??

Do the neighbors or the city ever give you a hard time about all the cars? Surely there is some kind of ordinance or homeowners bylaw about storing vehicles or running a business...... hope not, but just curious.
I just watched the latest Emilia Hartford video and someone stole her catalytic converter and cut the O2 sensor. Search "stealing O2 sensors" and you'll find quite a few stories of clipped O2 sensors along with stolen catalytic converters.
All the factory exhaust rots at the resonator and they break and 'flop' there. Walker replacement muffler and tailpipe does not have the resonator and is completely bolt in. NO a poly mount does not exist.
