It's so funny how only recently I've discovered this song. It's been over a year since I've slammed the door on a relationship that went south. I've been unsure if it was the right choice, but this song has helped me figure it out. In all the jazzy chaos, there's a aspect to the song in which it mirrors how moody I'd become in that relationship. I was putting my entire heart and all my trust into a relationship in which I was the only one making mistakes, and I see now that was because I was the only one making any real decisions in trying to work with this person who was never fully there. I'd swap between hoping to finally see them return my gaze and wishing I'd never trusted them: there's a dichotomy in the song, with alterations between a standard melody and funny chord changes, that concludes in the same way my feelings for this person did, and that's helped me heal. This song helps me realize that our relationship's end was something we'd both contributed to, but in different ways. Neither of us was perfect, but maybe only one of us was trying to be the next best thing for the other. I'll admit I hate you if it means it'll help me stop seeing myself as the one doing everything wrong. I know it's been eight years, but thank you for this song :)

hey dennoko-p i hope you know how much this song means to people. i suffer from what is most likely ocd and it makes me feel guilt to the point of isolating myself and cutting off friends because of how tainted i feel. this was the first song i found after a huge meltdown which made me realize what was wrong with me that made me feel seen. thank you so much

Had this on loop for an hour after an especially heated argument with my parents where they got annoyed with the anxiety i have and tried to make me feel like it was my fault and that i should be ashamed of how weak, pathetic, sensitive, and childish i was. I know the song isnt about that specifically but it still really helped vent my frustrations, especially the part right before the chorus. Im doing a lot better now.
