- Pianist magazine's house pianist Chenyin Li plays this poignant waltz by Scott Joplin. Watch her hands float over the keys. The recording was made at the Royal College of Music Studios, on a Steinway. The Score of Joplin's 'Bethana' waltz is found inside the February/March 2016 issue (No 88) of Pianist magazine (www.pianistmagazine.com)
Best Joplin work ever, and best version!
Lovely piece
I enjoy everything this fine lady plays
I really like the tempo! I've never heard it played like this before. The waltzy half beat hop is really great.
this is the best version
I loved you performance.
The best that I have ever heard.
Congratulations!
Really nice rendition, Li. I'm still too busy to memorize this piece, but I like it enough to spend more time on it. Oh, and incidentally, "BethEna" is spelled with an "E".
Good playing which’s pedals are you using please reply
How long did it take u toLearn this song? Nice Job!!!!
WWWOOOWWW!!! ^^
Hmm, that slight hesitation on beat 3 for the RH, sounds too European. Of course, I may be too biased for the old-time piano style.
Nah, you're right, I don't like Chenyin's Joplin at all, it's very unfitting to the period, especially with that tasteless swinging of the A strain!
