chale (friend) I’m from Ghana thanks a million times you really saved my device. wishing you all the best and may you continue to create useful content like this for us.
5.B Worked for me. I saw the adv up and down but you were the only one that said to shift. Oh my! Thank you. The website did show the firmware was up to date so I just reinstalled.
#5 solved it for me (firmware was already up-to date so the standard update page did not allow me to re-install the latest firmware. Advanced mode did the trick.) So this video basically saved me from buying a new battery (50 USD), which I was about to do after trying many solutions from other websites. Thank you for this video!
I've tried everything but still not charging. just solid red light when plugged in. Tried advanced software update. Got the message saying that battery too low to process the update. Is my soundlink really dead? Please bring him back... please...
@@psykish Oh thanks for your answer! Well I did everything that you said in the video. But when I reach the part to upload I don't have any options. I try this for months and then one day I just randomly plugged my speaker and it works for some minutes but only with the red light flashing I was even able to connected to my phone and play some music but I don't know why I pressed the multifunction bottom and it's never worked again. :(
@@nicokinglizard there will not be any options than to select your current firmware and just update with the same firmware , if you can give me a screenshot of what you experience I might be able to help further
Hi! Thanks for this video! I unplug the speeker while it's flashing the orange light and plug to the original charger, it flashes orange for about a minute and then back to red. Should I keep trying?
Hi , yes u will need to plug out from update while it turns orange & then plug into original charger for an hour or so for charging . It should be good then :-)
Hi I am also facing the same issue after turning to yellow during the update I am removing the cable from update @ 80% but after putting in charger even after 10 min still the light is flashing in red. Like to know how you guys fixed it?
i update it but after about an hour of playing it automatically turns to battery shipping mode . somebody plz help me how to fix it . do i have to get a new battery or is there any solution for this to 😢
@@psykish Thank you i finally figured it out. After the first try to update the software (i did it because bluetooth wasn't detecting new devices), it was at 80% and suddenly stopped working, like if unplugged the cable or so (but this never really happened). I tried to re-update so many times and nothing worked, reset, restore, 3 different computers, 4 different cables, and always the update failed at 8%. I tought it was done, bricked firmware, So i decided to take it apart, took out the front and back grill, all the screws, disconected the 5 different pieces boards and leave it like that... And i tought... what will happen if i try to update without the battery? So I reconected all the boards, (without the battery soldered board), plugged the usb cable and tried one last time to re-update. Guess what... This time it finally worked!! XD The update bypassed the 8% and got 100% green text. So happy!!! Unplugged and working agan!. I think this is a common BATTERY RELATED issue (bose mini's are well known for this problem, maybe programmed obsolecense, DRM protection or Bose forcing us to pay for the 60USD battery change service). Taking apart the mini i broked the soldered battery so ordered a new one for $30. Waiting to deliver so i can put it back together again. Hope this solution helps to anyone having this problem.
@@psykish I plugged in the speaker to a computer. Went to the Bose site to check if there is an available update for the firmware as the red light blinks all the time. @@psykish After the firmware update, I still get the blinking red light after charging it for an hour. Done the 10 second reset and unplugging the power cord, same issue. I did all the steps to no avail. Thanks for replying also.
@@michaelcrz1430 I guess u dint follow the final fix properly … when u r a updating ,that is during the update the speaker power light would glow orange approximately around 70 or 80% of the update … do not update beyond that .. unplug speaker even if the update hasn’t finished 100% … make sure u have unplugged when the speaker light glows orange and then u can just charge with the power. Cable
@@psykish I meant I run the update up to 70%-80% saw the orange light and then unplugged the usb from the computer. Then use the Bose power cord, but once I plug the power cord it goes back to blinking red. I am guessing a bad battery….Thanks!
@@michaelcrz1430 how old is your speaker ? Mine is more than 7 years old .Did you face issues like charge not holding for longer time when u were previously playing music ? Glad u had tried all these steps … may be there might be a way out
The red light appears also after changing the battery . In this case after changing battery the new battery returns different code to the unit via I2C port and this look out the unit. Since my unit cannot be programmed to fresh state ( NO DICE) the unit is useless . Maybe it works with some batteries but I will not risk to buy the new one . Never buy a Bose again - it is good quality sound but for maintenance and customer support it is piece of garbage .
Thanks for saving my Soundlink from the JUNKYARD. The FINAL FIX did the job. Charged for more than an hour till the light turns GREEN. YAPEE🎉
