It took me years to be able to listen to this song (and it still brings tears to my eyes) because Vince Gill released it a few days before my baby brother passed away and it was constantly on the radio for weeks after that. I'm sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to everyone who has experienced the loss of loved ones.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how it feels. My brother passed away in 2013. He was only 48 years old. I miss him more than words can say. May God bless you.
Never apologize for honest tears. Many of us share your loss. Tears are just the love we have in our heart that cannot find the one we miss. Let them go and feel the love.😢
For the record = This is Penned, performed and sung by the Great VINCE GIL .... his brother was in the service, felled by it's cruel hand and Vince obviously needed to channel and work out some of the grief he held for the tragedy ! It is beautiful ... and incredibly done by five vocalists here - Home Free !!! Love all those you know and care for .... it is a gift, this life we hold and fragile as it is can slip away ! God bless, jj
They have 2 more gospel/hymn "covers" you might enjoy. Their version of How Great Thou Art is a master class in 5-part harmony. And they do Amazing Grace with Peter Hollens which is 6-part harmony. It is gorgeous. I believe that one is on Peter's channel.
My sympathies to you and your families for your losses, Homefree has done beautiful versions of How Great Thou Art, and Amazing Grace, when you are ready I would recommend them. Blessings to you❤
I’m so sorry for your losses and the pain you went through. Home Free did such a beautiful heart wrenching job with this song make me cry every time too
Brother so sorry for your losses but this is what Home Free is they're very faithful and very patriotic and this video shows it and you'll see it in other performances by them and again sorry for your losses, I'm 64 and l know the pain .great reaction
I am so very sorry for your losses. My brother took his life when he was 42, the first time I heard this song after his death I completely broke down and wept for a long time, as if I was finally able to let go of some of the pain I did not show others. Thank you for sharing this version , I lost some pain as I listened to it . God Bless you
Sorry for your loss. No apology. I recognize the pain. I too have lost many loved ones such as my partner (60), my best friend (43) etc. So beautifully sung by Rob with so much emotion that it touches your heart and soul. Because if you can sing as well, as it reaches only to my ears it's not good enough for me. But this is so perfect. Goosebumps. Beautiful cover with respect for the original. They just give it a Home Free twist like Tim's piece with Amazing Grace. So good harmonies and great bass in the background .. And then that video, so emotional!! So many families that have been through this.😢 My father came out of the war alive after 4 years in a Japanese camp. Often in isolation. With the help of a fellow inmate, he survived. But it still bothered him physically and mentally. He was hard on us. We were not allowed to show our emotions and weakness, otherwise they would get us. After all, he himself had survived the war that way. In 1969, 3 days before my 6th birthday, he died from the physical effects of the war. He was only allowed to live to be 50 years old. Amazing Grace was sung at his funeral. One of his favorite songs that he often sang as a pastor.
What a moving reaction..... I'm sorry for ur losses but I do appreciate you doing this song. I've already asked that Home Free's cover of "How Great Thou Art" to be played at my funeral. Love from North Carolina ❤️ #homefries
Big Papa D!! Keep, keep in’ it real!!! I feel like my entire 54 years I’ve been so blessed! “When will that shoe fall?” Grandparent’s died in their late 70’s-early 90’s. Father from a family of 10, only 1 gone so far…Mother from a family of 7-ALL good. Dad’s side in the past 2 years, 2 cousins near my age, gone (brothers!). Youngest sister diagnosed with breast cancer. My almost 15 year old daughter diagnosed with a rare chronic kidney disease at age 6!! Life is LIFE!!! We ALL have an expiration date stamped on us, but we can’t see it!! All we can do is be the ABSOLUTE BEST people we can be to make this world a little better for us as well as our fellow humans here among us!! ☮️ bro!!
Thank you for a such an honest, heartfelt reaction. We’re for you and many of us have been in similar circumstances. This song and video are just a masterclass in harmonies and dynamics that bring the beautiful lyrics alive. Please, more Home Free, they never disappoint!
My opinion, this isn't a sad song. This is a song of peace. Their pain and struggle is over. Only peace and undescribable joy remains. Mourn their loss, but celebrate their freedom from pain.
Thank you for sharing your heart with all of us. ❤ I have had many losses as well and so understand. Don't appologize. Your reaction and just listening to this with someone that so understands what the song means is such a precious gift. Hugs and love to you. I'm so sorry for your losses and pray that your loved ones are no longer in pain. ❤
I am so sorry for your losses. You’ve been through a lot but seem to have dealt with it well. God bless you. I agree that Home Free is so good with this song. I loved hearing Amazing Grace in the middle. So beautiful. My husband’s brother has Asperger’s or something similar. His parents never got him diagnosed so he lives a very quiet life. My husband’s always a little sad about it. Have a wonderful 4th! If you want some fun Home Free just released a new song that Chance wrote called Skull & Bones for the game with the same name. It’s a lot of fun! 🤩😄
Much respect to you for your openness with your thoughts. I also am an emotional person, "wear your heart on your sleeve" type person. Good job man, we need more people who can be an open book even when it's uncomfortable or makes you feel vulnerable.
Please accept my deepest condolences for your losses. This is such an emotionally evocative song - I think anyone who has lost someone dear to them is affected by it. Your emotions are what make you human - don't be afraid to show them. "Morning Has Broken" was played at both my father's and younger brother's funerals - I still can't listen to it.
I lost my father, a daughter and a son within a 6 year period. This song hits hard. This fits my son perfectly. He had his troubles but always believed there was a better place. Sorry for your losses.💜💜💜
Not a dry eye in the house, I don't care how tough they say they are.
This song is so beautiful and always brings tears to my eyes, yes they sounds like angels ❤ sorry for your losses.😢

Heartfelt condolences for your loss , Brother
Big softy! I lost my mom to cancer the day before Mother's Day. I've avoided this song until today. Love it! God bless!

I played their version of How Great Thou Art at my mom’s funeral, it was the first song and last song of theirs I played for her.
Adam Rupp's father is a minister, Austin's dad is a gospel singer that traveled, Austin sometimes went along.
How Great thou art
My sympathies to you and your families for your losses, Homefree has done beautiful versions of How Great Thou Art, and Amazing Grace, when you are ready I would recommend them. Blessings to you❤
I am so sorry for your losses. I am going through that right now and listening to reactors reacting to my fave singers/songs has helped tremendously❤
I'm so sorry for your losses. Your reaction is probably the most heartfelt and personal reaction I've seen.
I'm sorry for your loss, brother. Home Free doesn't do covers, but upgrades. Be at peace dude, I'm here for ya.
Excellent way to describe Home Free's "covers!"
I’m so sorry for your losses and the pain you went through.

You are bigger then me, you are rougher then I, but you can’t stop an emotional hug! Here it is, like it or not!
New sub! Breaks my heart to hear your story. Best reaction I've seen to this performance! Love from Texas🤠🤠🤠
I lost my brother recently 😔I understand your pain. Yes they sound like 😇 Angels.
They song refers to Vince Gill’s brother, who died by suicide

Sorry for your losses. I couldn't imagine losing a child. That's one thing I'm not sure I could handle. I wish you the best.
In case you don't know, this was written by Vince Gill when his brother died.
😢❤
🖤🍟
JUST STARTED AND I'M ALREADY CRYING, ONE OF THE REASONS I USUALLY AVOID LISTENING TO THIS SONG, NOT PERSONAL, JUST DEEPLY MOVING
You would love their cover of “how great thou art”
Lost my wife 3 years ago. Can't wait to see her 😢.
My brother died at the age of 39 and all three of my sisters died at 43, 44 and 52 all for different reasons. So i know how you feel.
Sorry for your losses it definitely changes you and your perspective
Watch Vince singing this song at George Jones funeral
I have. Tears me up.
They indeed do a beautiful job singing, but to be honest to me no one can sing it as good as Vince Gill who wrote the song.
watch Pentatonix. :)
Try watching Vince and patty loveless sing it at George Jones’s funeral. Vince is broken
