In Q6, the wavelength is 30cm? If we use the formula (n-1)lambda=L that's the answer. But it's doesn't make sense since it should be 15? Now in Q8, the period should be 0.2 sec since that's is the time it takes for one complete oscillation. But using the formula (n-1)T=t the answer is 0.4 sec. Is there a specific places where we use diff formulas. I'm confused.

No 6 has no tricks. Use the number of cycles shown. Always be careful when using n in any formula. It may be the number of cycles or the number of crests/troughs. The formula (n-1)lambda =L is used only when the distance given is between crests or troughs

Conversion to SI units can be done when it is asked for or if it is to be used in a substitution formula.
