- I got the old dinosaur cheap because of it's blank screen. But all it takes is a little help from your friends. Not human friends, pfft... Electronic friends, natch ;)
Hi all, bit late today but I'm online right now if you wanna ask any questions or just say hi :)
Lol I've got one of these been a while since I powered it up... definitely packed with features. Onboard speakers are pretty good for being onboard even got good bass with it. Got the zip disk they supplied too.... somewhere here 😅
Yeah I think it's got plenty of potential
I'm from Ukraine. I have the same synth and I also bought it cheap because of the blank screen. I warmed up the screen with a hairdryer and it helped, the screen more or less worked for a couple of years. But now it’s blank again. Maybe I should use a soldering iron to warm up the contacts, maybe this will help solve the problem.
I wish I’d thought of the hair dryer trick!
Seems to perform fairly well without the screen.
Yep the sounds are all good. Access those midi control parameters and you're on your way :)
Hi, Did you fix it or get an answer from your tech ! I have the same problem with my Roland EM 2000 screen and I would like to change the screen or a way to fix it, thank you
No I was never able to fix it or see a tech about it. Sold it as-is :)
This thing's harder to find than a left-handed smoke bender!
Is there any way I can fix the screen because I do not believe that I can purchase a replacement.
They appear occasionally on ebay and the sellers will usually post internationally. Set up an auto search for it, you might get lucky!
Hi gearfacts look up Roland E-20 and please see it and please tell me if it's showing its age
I picked one up about 4 years ago for around $140. The only problem is the screen. Sounds great!
How do I get and install the USB driver so I can use it as a midi controller in flstudio.... Anytime I connect to fl studio my sustain pedal triggers a middle E key and the pitch bend causes serious noise ....please i need a solution to this
Love a follow up to this did if you do repair the screen. The layout on the screen area looks similar to the G-800 G-1000 arranger workstations that Roland did, and the screen was really important as there was a lot of menu diving for that keyboard, and that was heavy too
Sir!! Please review yongmei ym-758 keyboard
I think the Zebra Strips inside the LCD display are bad. I have one of these keyboards and the screen changes as you push on the edges. I'm going to disassemble it and order new strips to try. That's a whole lot cheaper than a replacement display.
Cool, let us know how it goes!
How did it go
Ray, did it work? I have the same keyboard with the same problem.
Come on Ray, don't leave us haning here.
Hi gearfacts if I make a Roland e 20 video would you watch it and tell me if it's showing its age
ok
Hi gearfacts can you please make about the Roland ex 50 it's a new keyboard that just come out and I really want to see what sounds like
Not released in Australia yet :(
That keyboard sounds great! Wish I could find one at an affordable price to add to my collection. Hope you can fix the screen issues. Worth repairing it. Stay safe and God bless.
Never fixed it :( So it's off to the next owner...
I need to get my EM2000 fixed, I need it for the solo gigs that I have done in the past as a vocalist when it was working.
Such a nice board, worth fixing :)
It’s a shame cause that looks like a lot of fun !
Excellent instruments and the compatibility between midi how you are able to plug in and play via MIDI with stunning results. Did you manage to get the screen mended on the EM 2000?
Nope :(
@@gearfacts were you not able to salvage the part for the screen? It’s a stunning instrument. How will you use it with out the screen?
@@bestrickie2 The other midi instruments allow access to most functions, but without the screen I don’t think it’s viable to use. Could search eBay for a replacement screen I guess, but I think I’ll leave that for the next owner :)
How much price in indian rupee
400 billingworths
Must be very high end to have a zip drive in it.
haha yeah it was good tech in those days but dreadful now :/
Nice sounds!
Worth trying to save it. Good luck!
Nyerr the screen is knackered, little chance of finding a new one. Have sold it to a guy out in the sticks, now I’ve gotta pack the big ol’ thing! This was a fun video to make though
@@gearfacts There is one on Reverb around $250USD from London, UK. I checked Syntaur too, but no stock there either.
@@dawnr8511 $250! Ouch. As we would say in Australia - “Tell ‘im he’s dreamin’ “ haha we love saying that
