    The RAM removal did it for me :D (also left on IDE instead of AHCI because it's an older desktop, set it on Enchanced mode, put my cd rom first in boot priority and made sure that my SSD was the ONLY hard drive connected to the motherboard, used sata1 and sata2 as labeled on the board, sata2 for SSD, sata1 for cd rom, also my old motherboard is asus p5k vm, it was my first assembly on an old pc)
    Hope you don't mind the long post, wanted to be of help to you and your audience
    Thank You ☺️

    hi,
    i have a failing hard drive. so i decided to get a 250 GB Samsung 860 EVo. Now im planning to set up a fresh install of windows 10 on my SSD. The ssd will be on old slot of hdd. Not gonna use previous hdd whatsoevr. My question is : what changes do i have to do in BIOS ? Thanks :)

      Just check your bios to make sure its set to see your SSD like in the video.If you have problems loadings Windows 10 then remove all ram except for 1 stick of ram. Once Windows 10 is installed then reinstall the ram you took out.

    I need to disable my old HDD for a week or so and don't see the setting in Lenovo. I thought I was deleting files off of my old HDD (C drive) yesterday ( I was in the correct files!!), but turns out it was from my newly-cloned SSD (D drive). So, before I try to format the old HDD, I want to use the SSD alone for a while.

    • @JimMcLaren1950
      @JimMcLaren1950  4 роки тому

      Your bios will be different from mine. Go in your bios settings and look for HDD you should be able to disable it so your bios doesn't see it. Save and exit.Other way to do it is physically disconnect in removing the cable and power supply. Probably just the cable.

    Hey sir idk if you're checking comments still but I need a little bit of assistance from you. I have basically turned my SD card into a hard drive ( not SSD BTW) and cloned all of my OS files (system files) into the SD card. However now I would like to use my SD card as my primary boot so I can delete my OS files from my local disk to get space. And my SD card no where seems so appear on BIOS. I've been struggling for almost a week and if you have any knowledge helping me would literally make my day. Thanks!
