For $50, you got a new car practically, those 740s,760s are some strong reliable cars, and now that you are putting it Up to date , it is going to last a long time.
Did a good job. Nice car. I have a 1990 760 gle I am getting ready for inspection here in Canada. Parts in Canada are hard to come by. Has to get the altenator and starter rebuilt because i could not find a new anywhere. Unfortunately they did not replace the solenoid, so it has to come out again. It will be a great car once it is done, just like your car.
Working on a 1986 760 turbo with about 133,000 miles all in the no salt U.S. southwest. Major headaches are crumbling insulation on wires especially in the engine compartment. Needs a new O2 sensor as well and has a heat shield in the way of changing it that is almost impossible to access one of the bolts. Had to run down a lot of bad grounds (earths) also. Mechanically it is good. Electric is a mess.
That's a nice car! Quite rare with 7-series turbo models here in Sweden actually. Plenty of NA models though. Sorry to hear about the bad wiring, hope you fix it! 😊
@john brink, i'm going through same issues with my '87 760 turbo wagon... bad grounds, crumbling wire insulations. A lot of work, but I love the car so she's worth it! :)
Hehe ja men eller hur? Äger både gammalt och nytt, men gamla bilar har en helt annan charm med alla sina egenheter och skönhetsfläckar. 😝 Tack för kommentaren!
Good Job!! Do I intend to buy a Volvo S60 in a while, I have my sights set on that, why? now I drove 3 Renaults Safrane years ago with a 2.5 liter Volvo engine, a real perfect engine with such a messy 170hp. Now the Safrane has been out of production since 2001 and the newest "replacement" the Talisman is still a bit too expensive for me as 2nd hand. So I am now looking for a good Volvo S60 and it may well be a year 8 to 10 years old, I am concerned that the quality of these cars is just good and when I see a Volvo of 30 years old and what is is wrong or needs to be replaced then I am all that bad, I expected worse !! By the way, I have driven a Volvo truck all over Europe for work and it has never let me down, so quality counts, ha ha THE last I drove was a Volvo 540, before that a 400, 460 and 500 hp, but they are not inferior to each other.
Vad kul att du ser fram emot del 4! :) Har faktiskt filmat en hel del i helgen (och tidigare helger) så måste bara organisera upp allt material och redigera ihop en ny del. Så förhoppningsvis inom kort! 😉
I bought them here: shop.klracing.se/sv/artiklar/modellanpassat/reservdelar/740_745-760_765/belysning-5/index.html I dont know if they will ship to other countries than Sweden though..
Pro tip: don't buy new brake discs (Brembo, Meyle etc.), buy barely used original ones. Same price, but much better (does not warp or rust as fast as aftermarket ones)
Seeing new parts on an old Volvo is so satisfying!
Than you would love mine! lol

Have you thought about putting the door handles that have chrome instead of the blackened out ones.
Some people don’t know the strugle of annual inspections 😭
Yes I know! However this car only needs inspection every two years, because of it's old age.
Where I live there are only inspections when you sell the car. Phew! lol
Intressant och rolig videoserie att följa. Fortsätt med det du gör.
Tack för de fina orden, ha det bäst! 😁👍

I have a 89 760 turbo intercooler and I am rehabing it. What brand and model are your new brake calipers?
Thanks
Nice, jag tycker det är roligt att se mek med äldre bilar som du och Mackan visar, det framkallar gamla minnen👍
