This week I watched your full cabin build series and learned a lot from your explanations throughout. At first I thought is was going to be a big cabin, but it looks awesome. I'm only on episode 5 and watch other primitive builders. I know you don't like cutting down trees. But in the future I don't know how long you will be staying there. You could easily trim out 25% or more of the timber around you. To get more sunlight in there. Which for me in the trees will grow better less competition. Better have a cat and feed for your animals. Much more forage for you and mother nature around you. Those trees are so close together. You'll be doing the forest of favor.

What’s the reason to have it open out? Fire safety? Animals trying to push in? Space inside? I plan on it but what’s your reason? Only downside to opening out is snow blocking the door.

@@TrustinTimber Ok then,,,,,, and there is only One Animal that will Test that Door,,,,, and that would be Mr. Grizz, not sure where you are at in Canada, but I've got some friends in the Yukon, and their 3-Cabins all open-out, as does mine here in Alaska, if you've got Grizz in the area, they will test it, when you least expect it,,,,,, and you can deal with the Snow, as I have, not a big-deal, and it looks as though you've got a small overhang, again, Looking-Good......
