@Jafte Cenjoy - Wow, thanks, man! I truly appreciate you saying that! I'm very pleased to hear that my video was able to help you out 😊 Thank you for the kind words, you're too kind! 😊 Have an excellent day, and please let me kniw if you need anything, I'd be happy to help out! Happy holidays! Cheers.
Thanks, I truly appreciate you saying that! The Manual Mode is really great, and it has a lot of options. It's even cooler that you're still able to use the assigns, when in Manual Mode! That just opens up a lot more possibilities! You are very welcome, Antonio. Let me know if you need anything else. Cheers 🍻
This totally saved me - I couldnt find anywhere else why my phrase and accel pedals no longer switched extends when in manual mode - but then found out so much more - thanks for taking the time to made this video
Thanks, Tim! I truly appreciate the kind words, and I'm pleased to hear that my video helped you out! Sadly the Owner's Manual doesn't cover most of the GT-100's features all that well.. I just couldn't live with that, so I decided to dig a little deeper ;-) Let me know if you need anything :-) Have a great day. Cheers.
First of all..... THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!!! Over the past 2 weeks, I've been going through literally HUNDREDS of Videos trying to learn this and setting up a Switch to control the Tap Tempo!! I'm at the final stage of deciding between the GT100 OR GT1000. With being able to purchase and connect the FS 6 Dual Control, I'll now be able to assign a SINGLE SWITCH to control the Tuner and the 2nd for the Tap Tempo. This makes EITHER UNIT I decide to go with an ENTIRE RIG!! No more lugging around an Amp plus my Guitars I choose for the night. Run either GT into the PA, have my Monitors and no longer needing to haul around a 40 Pound Pedalboard and my Marshall DSL!!! I, along with my Spine, THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THIS VIDEO!!
Hey there, Keith! Thank you for your comment and kind words - I really appreciate it! I'm pleased to hear that my video helped you out - its purpose is served 😊🎸 You're right, Keith, being able to use an external footswitch, like the FS-6 or FS-7, will allow you to assign further effects and parameters and have it all in one place! I did the same switch, that you're talking about, when deciding to use the GT-100 direct to the PA, instead of dragging my amp around and having to always mic it up. My general sound and tone would often change, from venue to venue, but no more - the GT-100, and the patches I've created, keep things consistent and simply! I love it. It would be nice to hear which model you choose! Thanks again, I really appreciate the kind words. If you ever need anything, then please let me know, I'd be happy to assist. Have an excellent sunday - best regards.
@@GuitarNTabs Again, I thank you!!! Any chance you have used the GT1000? If so, does it have the same capabilities as it's LITTLE BROTHER ? Are you able to change the 1000 into Manual Mode as well as add the FS Switches to gain more access? I apologize, I have NO IDEA where in the world you're located so I have no clue what the time is where you are!!!...LOL.... I'm in the USA, East Coast so at this time, it's almost 6am......waking up with a Leg Cramp about 4 hours ago, again I hit UA-cam in search of Information. Lord knows how many hours I've sat either on my Phone or Computer; AT THIS TIME, I'M ON BOTH.....watching on my phone while shopping for the FS Footswitch and replying to you!!! I'm searching my life.....and WIFE away!!!! She thinks I'm obsessed.....or POSSESSED!!! ANY information you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Not only by me......my Wife and MY SANITY!!! Take care and have a great Morning, Afternoon......what the heck....HAVE A GREAT DAY!!
@@keithdarling8290 - Hey again, Keith! You're very welcome, no problem at all! Sadly no, I haven't had a chance to try out the GT-1000, even though I would really like to! But, I'm sure there's a Manual Mode, and that you're able to take full advantage of the external footswitches. I'm sure all this information can be found in the GT-1000 Manual, on Boss' webpage and the GT-1000's product page. Haha, I'm located in Denmark, in Europe - so there's quite the time difference, but all is good! Aaah, I see, then you've got quite some time to research UA-cam, haha.. Talk about multi-tasking, right?! Haha! Yeah, there's a fine line between gear and wife/girlfriend... Gotta keep them happy! I would really recommend the Boss FS-7, over the FS-6. The FS-7 is slimmer and slicker - it doesn't operate on a 9V battery and can be powered by a regular power supply. That's my take on the FS-7 over the FS-6. Thanks, the same to you - enjoy the day! Cheers!
@@GuitarNTabs I never realized a Battery or Power Supply was needed for any of the FS Controls!! Oh well, being a Musician that happens to play a lot of different Instruments and having more than enough Effect Pedals, I do have my Mountain of Power Supplies. It only took me about 40 years of Performing to realize.....you know what, I need to get away from all of the little Power Supplies, or as we joke about them here, "Wall Warts!" haha!! I finally bought 2 Power Block Supplies and mounted them on my Board.....I'll see if UA-cam will let me attach a photo. All of my Pedals aren't mounted on the Board yet as I'm still not sure which of my collection of Metal Boxes with Buttons I'm going to need until I decided on the 100 or 1000!! I have way too many toys!!......hahaha!! I will have to see which of my Effects I will need to keep for my Acoustic shows. I'll have to check both the 100 and the 1000 Acoustic Simulation Patches and see how well they react with the Effects. There is 1 MAJOR SETTING on the 1000 I happened to hear in a Video. This particular Patch blended the Acoustic Simulation with an Overdriven Amplifier. I don't know if you happen to be a fan of Eddie Van Halen or not. If you happen to be a fan and you're a fan of his Tone, it almost sounds as if he blends an Acoustic Simulation Pedal with a Distorted Amp and using an American Fender Stratocaster's combination of the Bridge and Middle Pickup. A very unique sound that for many years, Guitarist EVERYWHERE have been trying to duplicate. Well, the 1000 has done it using the Expression Pedal, blending the 2 Tones, Acoustic Guitar and Electric. By pressing up or down on the Expression Pedal, you increase or decrease which ever you desire. It may be an Impulse Response.....IR......or it may be a Patch....but I'M GOING TO FIND IT!!! I've wanted that tone since he introduced it when Sammy Hagar joined!! Whew.....what a SCREENFULL of stuff I was rambling about, I apologize. Changing the subject, I notice you said you were from Sweden? My Ancestors come from Europe as well. My Great Grandmother's last name was Vanbenthusen. Apparently from Holland...the Benthiesen area.... I believe. I'm wanting to do a DNA Ancestry Test to find out. For years, I've wanted to travel to Holland, Amsterdam in particular, to research my family. Holland and Ireland were my Fathers side of the family, Ireland and Native American Indian, Cherokee, to be exact, is the Bloodline of my Mother's family. Hopefully, before I die, I'll get the opportunity to travel. Wow, that's a lot of, to you probably, a lot of useless information you could care less about!! I'd just really love to get out of this Country. As much as I love our freedoms....but can't tolerate our lying President, Donald Trump,......worst President Ever, though I'm in my Mid to Late 50's, find the good European Metal Scene.....I love Primal Fear, Stratavarious among many others in that part of the world, settle down in a beautiful Small Town or Village and spend my remaining years in European Metal Bliss, maybe play in a small band and just enjoy my remaining life in Peace and in a Beautiful part of the world. If you ever feel the need to let off steam....you know how to find me.....hahaha!! Take care and let's see if it will let me add some Pictures!! Nope.....I cant upload photos!! I tried!! Take care, KK
@@keithdarling8290 - Hey again! Both the FS-6 and FS-7 doesn't need a power supply to operate, but on the FS-7, if you want the LEDs to work, then it needs a power source. Otherwise those two footswitches will work without power. Haha, exactly, Wall Warts.. I've had some of those as well.. Before switching to some quality ones - which really made a huge difference. So much cleaner power and minimal to zero noise. Yeah, I listen to Van Halen! The guitar tones are amazing! Well, both the GT-100 and GT-1000 lets you have a Preamp A and Preamp B, so it's possible to blend two Preamp types together, if that's wanted. I've done that with the GT-100, and it's fantastic! You can get so many different and excellent results doing that! No need to apologize, it's great to hear what your thoughts are and what type of music you're into! I know it from myself, haha! Actually, I'm from Denmark, Europe :-) Wow, that's cool - thanks for sharing! Yeah, do it, the travel would be great, and I'm sure you would discover so much! No, not at all, again, it's nice to interact with fellow GT-players! I do all this because I love it, and sharing experiences with other is a great part of it! Yeah, from what I hear on the news, America could do better, regarding the president... It's a shame... Haha, some nice place in Europe would be excellent, haha! Keep the dream alive! Thanks for getting in touch! You're more than welcome to reach out, if you need anything. All is good, no worries - take good care now, bye bye then ;-) Thanks, I'll keep that in mind - hehe! Cheers.
You've really made me think. I've used my GT100 in patch mode, manual then back to patch mode when I discovered the hidden assign. Now with Solo preamp, AB switching and controlling PL and CTRL from manual mode, I'm going to try manual mode again. Thanks!
Wow - thanks for the best explanation of what is possible with manual mode I have seen. I was looking to see if I could turn on OD, EQ and DL with one pedal, and luckily you showed how. Thanks so much for your video. 👍
Fantastic, jbognap! I'm pleased to hear that you found my video helpful! Thanks for watching! Let me know if you need anything else. Best regards and cheers.
Thanks for this. I was trying to work out how to switch from the GT100 preamps to my amp's preamp using the 4 cable method and S/R. Now I know that I can set the Bank up or down pedal to switch the S/R on and off in 4C mode. Cool!
Nice one mate for a really helpful explanation for so many people on how to assign and edit these features many have been struggling to find and access on the GT100, this definitely opens up so many more areas in programming and editing your tones in manual mode and being able to change your desired edits in real time with your feet. Thanks again.
Cheers, The Dead Xtra's. Thanks for your comment and kind words, I greatly appreciate it! It is a great feature, that's for sure! Rock on, and let me know if you need anything. Have a great day.
I'd been thinking assign ctl was only possible with Preset Mode. As I'm usually using Manual Mode exclusively, it was seriously missing. So thanks a LOT for this precious information !
Hi there. Thanks for your comment, I greatly appreciate it. I'm pleased to hear that! Now you can use Assigns in Manual Mode as well! It's a great feature to know. Enjoy it and rock on. Let me know if you need anything else. Best regards.
The GT-100 is still one of the best multi Fx pedals. I use it in manual mode with the Boss Katana Artist MKII with 4 cable method. The tones are incredible.
Holy shit - I wasted hours not knowing why my assigns wouldn't work on the Accel and PLoop pedal, not realising you need to change them to CTRL Assign. Thank you!
Outstanding video. Covered the subject area very well and helped me understand this pedal. I'm strongly considering buying on and the detail on these features is what I was looking for. I think I'm sold.
Hi Lars! :-) Thanks for watching and your comment! Glad that it helped you! The Manual Mode is great, and offers a lot of flexibility! I'll do another video, real soon, where I demonstrate the Manual Mode, and explain how to set up different sounds. Best regards & Cheers!
GuitarNTabs I’ve been trying to figure out how close to a manual pedalboard the GT boards could get, compared to the ME boards, and never really got confident that it could work as a stomp box with individual pedals and not patches. As I understand it, you can have several banks, each with up to 8 individual pedals, right?
Thanks again for your comment, Lars :-) The GT-100's Manual Mode is the closest you'll get to a manual pedalboard, and it can easily be done. I'll try to make a video on that, very soon. The GT boards are far more superior than the ME boards, that's for sure. Whether you wish to use the GT-100 in Preset mode - having several banks with different patches - or use it in Manual Mode - as close to a regular stompbox pedalboard - as it'll get, is all up to you, and the requirements you have. Using the GT-100 in Preset Mode will give you several banks with 4 patches in each bank. For example - U01-1 to U01-4. The 'U' stands for User. In the Preset Mode you have your banks and patches, and you can set them up in whatever order you like. You can add the effects and preamps you like, and you can also make use of the 8 available assigns, making switching effects on/off a breeze, or switch from a clean preamp to an overdriven one. All that is possible in Preset Mode. I mainly use the GT-100 this way - but I see advantages in the Manual Mode as well! Using the GT-100 in Manual Mode will allow you to use the GT-100 as your stompbox pedalboard with individual pedals. In Manual mode you set up the footswitches to on/off certain FX. For example - UP-footswitch activates a Compressor, DOWN-footswitch activates an overdrive pedal, and so on. In Manual Mode you're also able to make full use of the 8 available assigns, believe it or not! You can use the Phrase Loop and Accel footswitches to assign different FX and parameters, and make switching easy. That could for example be, if you needed a solo boost, for when you have activated the OD pedal, then you could assign the OD to go into solo mode, and boost your lead playing. It's a game-changer, really. It's all possible, and it can easily be set up, trust me! Let me know what you think :-) Best regards & Cheers.
Hi there, Ricky6565. Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it! In the beginning there's a lot to wrap your head around, that's for sure, but after a few times, things will be more clear and understandable. The GT-100 is a great unit, and the possibilities are endless! I'm glad that you found my video helpful. Please let me know if you need anything else. All the best.
Great Video! Once you understand the basic principles of the GT-100 you start to realize how powerful this pedal board really is. You can virtually program any sound you want in pretty much any configuration. Your video of the manual mode helped me out enormously. I wanted to take things one step further...one thing that was very frustrating was using the GT-100 in manual mode and being able to switch to different presets while staying in manual mode. This is EXTREMELY useful because by switching the presets up and down yet staying in manual mode you don't have to hold the bank up/down pedals on each preset to get into manual mode. I worked around this by using a MIDI pedal mapping the MIDI controllers PC#s to the preset numbers on the GT that I wanted to change. Once mapped you go into a mapped preset on the GT, hold bank up/down to switch into manual mode and then use the MIDI controller from there on to switch presets. This way the preset changes up/down and the corresponding pedal assignments come up for that patch once you select it though the MIDI controller.
Hey there, radtone! Thanks for your comment and kind words, I appreciate it! Indeed, the GT-100 is a powerful beast, and the possibilities are endless! Exactly, that's the beauty, effects can be assigned, moved around and adjusted to taste! Thanks you, I'm very pleased to hear that - that's what I wanted with this video! Okay, wow, that's excellent! I can see that! That's one great use of the MIDI onboard the GT-100! You simply use the GT-100's MIDI CCs and set them to switch presets? Is that it? I don't own a MIDI pedal, so I can't try that at the moment.. I'll need to get one! Which MIDI pedal are you using, if I may ask? I can really see the benefit! Looking forward to hear from you! Best regards Cheers.
@@GuitarNTabs Hey! Yes exactly, you use the MIDI Mapping selection in the System menu on the GT-100...so for example MIDI PC#1 I assigned to U13-1 ( user bank 13 patch number 1 ) and then MIDI PC#2 assigned to U13-2 ( user bank 13 patch number 2 ) and so on...I happened to use User bank 13 but you can use any bank...once you mapped the PC#'s to the bank and patches you back out of the system menu then go to the first User Bank/patch ojn the GT ( in this case it would be U13-1 ) then press both the bank up/down switch to get into the manual mode starting with U13-1 then use the MIDI controller to select the different user patches while the GT stays in manual mode. I am using a Boss FC-50 MIDI controller but any MIDI pedal would work. One thing really important : you have to go into the System Menu / MIDI settings ( page 2 ) and make sure that ' MIDI in select ' is set to ' MIDI '...
@@radtone - Once again, thank you! That's great knowledge! I will have to check that out! I often see people asking about switching patches when in manual mode, and not using the UP and DOWN! I'll see if I can get my hands on a MIDI controller - but you say any MIDI Controller will do? Thanks again! Best regards.
Hi , I love your videos on the GT 100. I just bought mine and have been going through the manual and some of the videos. Didn't know if you might be able to help with a certain sound I am trying to get. I would like a patch that incudes distortion, unison sound and wah. I am trying to emulate the synth Solo in Queen's song 'I want to break free' . cant find any info on creating a unison sound in the manual.. Many thanks Bernie
Hi there, Bernie! Thanks for your comment, kind words and question. For the unison sound I would try the Pitch Shifter or the Harmonist. To be honest it's going to be tough creating a sound like that, since the GT-100 really isn't designed for that... It's something the Boss SY-200 and other pedals would be able to do. I hope this helps. Cheers.
Hey there, @Harsh Arya 😊 Thanks, I appreciate the kind words! You let me know, if you need anything! I'd be happy to help out. Rock on and have an excellent day!
Hey Calling John :-) Thanks, man! I really appreciate that! :-) Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Although I don't speak Spanish ;-) Have a great one, mate! Cheers!
Ok, I think your video is a perfect guide, if they click on subtitles could be translated easily. I've got problems with english speech comprehension now (lot of years without practicing)... I need listen more VO films with subt. :) Thanks again \m/
Hi Emma :) Thank you very much, I truly appreciate it! Great, I'm very pleased to hear that! Do you use the GT-100 in Manual Mode mainly? Thanks, Emma :) I'll have a new Manual Mode video out, real soon, so stay tuned!
Hello I'm relatively new to the world of effects pedals. And use them in a very unusual way. I run my flute through them and do a little bit of beatboxing as well. I've only had the GT-100 for about a month and I'm hoping I can use manual mode to make my set up easier to travel with (don't have to take a collection of stomp boxes). I'm also attempting to learn how to make my own patches, some of the presets work with flute other don't. Cause everything is so new I'm not sure which mode I prefer at the moment. I'm looking forward to your new video :)
Hi again, Emma :-) Nice to hear from you. Alright, I see - that sounds cool! At first the effects pedal world can be overwhelming, but hang in there, you'll get a hang of it real quick! The Manual Mode will definitely make your setup easier, and also make the GT-100 act as your regular stompbox pedalboard :-) It's actually a nice feature! In my honest opinion, the best way to get great results is to create your very own patches. By doing that you'll be able to tailor the patch and sounds to exactly what you need. Some of the factory pretsets are okay, but they are basically there to only showcase what the unit can do.. and sometimes that gets a little too extreme.. I get that, it'll take time to get familiar with the different modes, so take your time :-) Are you using the GT-100 for both effects and preamps, or how is it set up? Thanks, I'll start recording soon :-) Let me know if I can help you - I'd be happy to. Cheers, Emma :-)
At the moment I'm just experimenting with effects and preamps, some work well with the flute others are just too much. Thank you :) I'll let you know if I have any questions
Hey! Yeah, I totally get that - it's a good idea to go through the different effects and preamps, that's good :-) You're welcome - I'll look forward to that :-) Have a good day, Emma.
Your manual mode explanations concerning the GT100 were very, very helpful. It makes you wonder why the folks who invented the GT100 do not take the time to write a detailed manual for the product. BOSS make great products but their manuals just do not cut it.. Thank you sincerely for much needed video on the manual mode capabilities. Have you made a video which helps to use the 4 cable method and understand the settings on the GT100 particularly the S/R setting?
Hi There once again. I am really stuck this time, I am trying to create a patch for the Don Henley (eagles version) Boys of Summer. Stuart Smith guitar sound. The Telecaster he uses is a Esqire model with a single pick up. Love the sound along with the delay and reverb effects. I am using a Strat. I have looked everywhere on the web, but have come up empty handed. I just wondered if you have any ideas regarding this. Many thanks in anticipation once again. Bernie
Hi there, Bernie! Thanks for reaching out again, I really appreciate it. Man, that's such a great tune, and especially some of the newer live versions, where Stuart does the guitar parts! That man can really play! That's correct, he usually play the Esquire Telecaster, which is such a beautiful instrument! I just sat down with the GT-100, trying to dial in a similar tone, and here's what I got: CMP (Compressor) - Stereo Comp: Sustain 40 - Attack 50 - Level 50 - Tone 0. OD (Overdrive) - T-Scream: Drive 0 - Tone +10 - Effect Level 45 - Bottom 0. Preamp A (If you use your own amp, turn this OFF on the GT-100 and dial in your own amp) - Clean Twin: Gain 50 - T-Comp +5 - Level 50 - Bass/Middle/Treble/Pres 50 - Speaker 1x12". FX2 - Sub Delay: Type "Pan" - Delay Time BPM Quarter Note - F. Back 10 - Effect Level 55. Delay - Type "Mod" - Delay Time BPM Quarter Note - F. NBack 10 - Effect Level 65. Reverb - Plate: Reverb Time 2,5s - Pre Delay 0 - Effect Level 35. Go and set the BPM for the patch in the MST (Master) setting. I set mine to 177 BPM, and then matched the delays to that. I entered the sub-divisions by scrolling past the ms. When you go above 2000ms, you enter the sub-divisions. I hope this will help you out. Let me know what you think. Cheers.
Hi There. YOU ARE THE MAN . Thank you so much for the info on the patch it sounds really close. I havn't had The GT 100 very long so a couple of bits I didn't quite understand. Not sure where the sub divisions bit is at the end of your message where you mention 2000ms (couldn't find it in master settings). Also how do you match the delays to the 177bpm bit? Overall though I am really impressed with what you have done, I cant thank you enough...Bernie
@@bernieandrews2796 - Hi again! Fantastic, I'm really pleased to hear that! The sub-divisions are within the Delay block, when you scroll past the 2000ms option in the Time parameter. You go to the Master block, at the end of the signal chain, and find the "master bpm" parameter, and set it to 177 bpm. Then you go to the Delay block, and scroll through the Time parameter, until you go past 2000ms, then you will enter the sub-divisions. It's something I just quickly put together, so I'm glad you found it useful. You can always adjust the delays, etc. to taste. Let me know if you need anything else. Have a great day!
@@GuitarNTabs Hi, Thanks for the info, it really helped. I now have a great patch for Boys of Summer, thanks to you!!! I was using a GT-1, but found the display too small to work with. Whereas the GT 100 display is great (especially with my eyesight). Great piece of kit. Hope your day goes well too. ... Bernie
Hey Extra Mile :-) Thank you very much - I really appreciate you saying that! I'm glad you like it, and I hope it will help you get the most out of your GT-100! :-) Enjoy & Rock on! Cheers!
Really helpful video, thanks! It's sure to save me a lot of pain. One question if I may: does the tuner still work if you stomp pedals 1 & 2 simultaneously when in manual mode?
Hello Francis. Thanks for your comment and question, I greatly appreciate it. Yes, it does, just like normal. You can also, while in Manual Mode, set up one of the footswitches to activate the Tuner, if you want to skip pressing two footswitches at once, but remember, this will occupy one footswitch. I hope this helps. Best regards.
14:03 MMC PLY "option", does anyone know what this does exactly? Was playing with it and it doesn't appear to do anything. I think it's part of the looper feature but I still can't get it to do anything? thanks
Hi there. I'm sorry for the late reply, I've been running behind, catching up and answering to comments... The MMC PLY is described like this, from the GT-100 Parameter Guide PDF: "Controls the Play/Stop of external MIDI devices (such as hard disk recorders)" I hope this helps. Best regards.
I appreciate the helpful video. There is a post below regarding having two delays at once (which doesn't quite resolve my dilemma). I seek to have say footswitch #1 set to perhaps TScream and footswitch #2 set to perhaps Turbo OD (just as you would if you had two separate stomp boxes). Sure, the GT100 can set each of these footswitches to "OD", but I can't seem to select *different* types of OD for each footswitch. They are both regarded as OD. If I press switch #1, both #1 and #2 come on simultaneously.
Hey Philip! Do you want the two Overdrives to be activated at the same time, or just the option to do so, by having them on two separate footswitches? You could use the OD block for the T-Scream, for example, then, in both FX-1 and FX-2 you have the Sub OD/DS option, where you can set the Turbo OD to be activated - that would basically solve your problem, I believe. Otherwise you could use the Assigns, and have the OD assigned to switch between the T-Scream and Turbo OD. Let me know what you think?
Hey Philip, On the back of the GT100, there's an INPUT for what's called SUB CONTROL. Go to your local Music Store that sells Boss/Roland gear and purchase the FS-6 Dual Footswitch. You'll need a SEND/RETURN type of cable. This Switch gives you 2....yes, TWO EXTRA FOOTSWITCH'S!! Follow this Video to set your board up to run in MANUAL MODE. Doing this will allow you to control each Overdrive SEPARATELY!!! Hope this helps!! Take care.
Very informative videos. I was looking for an explanation on manual mode on the GT100, as it seems to be the mode I´ll likely be using the most out of this units. Most of the answers I was looking for are explained in this videos. Thanks for that. One question though, can we change amp channels on real amps on the GT100 ? LIke for example using the CH A/B toggle funtion - 7:25 on the video - on the unit but asign the footswitch to change a real amplifier channel conected to the GT100? Also, can you still use the phrase loop when in manual mode with the phrase loop asigned to an effect? Thank you for the info and videos. Apreciate them.
Hey there, Ricardo! Sorry for the late reply... Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it! Excellent, I'm very pleased to hear that my video solved some of your questions! Yes, the GT-100 features the AMP CTL socket on the back - and your amp should have a similar socket - and when that's connected you should be able to switch between the channels of your own amplifier. Yes, you could use the assigns like that, and have it set-up to do what you're describing. However, if you wish to use both your own amp and the GT-100's preamp models, then I would recommend using the 4 Cable Method, where such connection will allow you to decide, on each patch, by using the S/R block in the GT-100 signal chain, when you want to use your own amp or the GT-100's preamp models. I don't know how you have the GT-100 set-up with your equipment and how you use it... Yes, the Phrase Loop footswitch can still be used for effects and assigns - I just turned mine off for the purpose of demonstration in the video.. But I think I show later on, how to use assigns, etc. with the Phrase Loop. You're very welcome! Let me know what you think about all this - I know if can be a little overwhelming.. Thank you - I appreciate is, much! Cheers.
Hi great video just to confirm I could set accel/ctl to switch on wah and eq simultaneously and phrase loop to switch amp/control and turn chorus off simultaneously therefore eliminating the need to take up riverdance lessons?
Hey there, Craig! Thanks for your comment and question - I appreciate it! Yes, that's correct. By using the Assigns you can set up different effects/parameters to both the Accel/CTL and Phrase Loop pedals. That's a great feature, and it eliminates riverdance, for sure 😂🤣 Let me know if there's anything I can help you with, Craig. Have an excellent day Best regards.
Great Tutorial, i'm considering buying the GT-100 to replace my pedal board. Can i just ask, when in manual mode, is it possible to still use all of the user banks giving you multiple versions of your pedal board. for example - Can i exit manual mode, go to another bank, enter manual mode and have a different pedal board for the next song? Also, i'm interested in the four cable hook up, using my amps channels for OD and Distortion, with some of the GT100s effects in front of the amp and some through the effects loop. Is this still possible in manual mode? Thanks, Mark
Hey there, Mark! Sorry for the late reply.. I've been behind.. Thanks for getting in touch. Yes, you should be able to scroll through the different banks, and have different patches. I'm not close to my GT-100 at the moment, but I remember that being a possibility! Manual Mode is still possible with 4 Cable Method, sure. Let me know if you need anything else. All the best.
Hello, great tutorials, thanks, can I use my Roland EV-5 via SUB KULT 1,2 / SUB ESP socket to use as a wah and not only volume pedal? I have version 2 of the GT 100.
Hi there, Berthold. I'm sorry for my late reply, I've been behind answering comments... Yes, you can set up an Assign, in the CTL/EXP menu on the GT-100, and it will allow you to use it as Wah. I hope this helps. Cheers.
Bought a GT-100 a few weeks ago and your videos have really cut the learning curve. Thanks for all of that. I was wondering if you could do a video showing how to switch between the GT-100 preamp, and my own amplifier preamp. This was touched on by someone from Roland who was demonstrating the 4 cable method with the Roland stereo amplifier. It looks like he assigned a few Pedals to be able to switch back and forth quite easily, but this was not explained. I'm using the 4 cable method right now, with RC-5 Looper in the chain and things are working great. Thanks
The simplest way is using channel A/B. Obviously make sure that you are first set up in 4 cable method and the output within global settings is set to combo return or stack return so that cab sims are turned off. Move S/R so that it's in channel A. Turn S/R on while making sure any GT preamp in the channel is turned off. Channel A will now be your amp preamp. In channel B you can turn on whatever GT preamp you want. Just make sure that you don't have S/R and a GT preamp both turned on at the same time unless that's how to get the sound you're after. You then use channel A/B to switch between them. Obviously you can add all manner of effects to each channel if needed Another way would be using multiple assigns on the same pedal set to toggle S/R on/off while toggling the GT preamps off/on. That way you could use channel A/B to switch between two different GT preamps and the assingned pedal for your own amp but that's a bit more complicated to explain in text.
how do i clear the patches? meaning all i want is to use my amp two channels and just us the gt100 for reverb delay chorus etc...making it like a stomp box for each button. help please
Hi there, Rolas. Thanks for your comment and question, I appreciate it. You can clear patches by pressing the Write-button and selecting the INIT option. This will clear the patch/patches you are on. You will have to go through the amount of patches you want to clear, in order to make it done. The Factory Reset will only restore the patches back to its factory state. If you only want to use the GT-100's Modulation, Delay and Reverb, you should put it through your amp's Effects Loop. That will ensure the proper placement of the Modulation, Delay and Reverb. Follow my video to make the Stomp Box mode work... Are you having issues with it? Let me know.
@@GuitarNTabs it worked but now i need to save the fx chain and for some reason it doesn't let me change the phrase loop. it says it can only be phrase loop even tho i want it to be delay tap
@@rolasg3278 - You have to go into the SYSTEM menu, and find the Phrase Loop menu, and turn OFF the Looper, then head to the CLT/EXP menu, and set up an assign, and make sure to set the SOURCE as the P. Loop Pedal. Then it should work. All the best.
Sir thanks for this great information n time you have given. It's really very helpful. Can u plz tell me 1 thing .... Can I save different manual mode settings for each user patch? Eg U01 and U02 will have different manual mode settings or same?
Hi there, Anupam. Thanks for your kind words, I really appreciate it. I'm glad you found my video helpful. Yes, you can save different Manual Mode settings for different patches. You will need to set up one, or two, of the footswitches, to be able to go UP and DOWN, to switch between patches. The smartest way would be to use an external footswitch, like the Boss FS-7, and assign its two buttons to be NUMBER DEC and NUMBER INC parameters. Then you still have all the onboard footswitches to use in Manual Mode. I hope this makes sense. Cheers.
@@anupamroy12 - You are very welcome. 🎸 Let me know if you need anything, I'd be happy to assist. Please consider Subscribing to my Channel, it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
It is very hard to get a balanced Flanger effect a balanced chorus effect and a balanced Distortion for ghuitar solos in Manual mode on my Boss GT 100 can you please navigate or help how to do it please I bought the pedal a month ago and sold my Boss ME 80 please
Hi there, Isaac. Thanks for your comment and question. Sure, I can do a video on that topic, but I need to know - what exactly do you mean by "balanced"? What's the issue you're running into? Let me know, and I will see what I can do. All the best.
Hey there, Rob :-) Thanks for your comment, kind words and question. I assume we're talking Manual Mode here, right? :-) If so, no, the preamp will not take up space - since you're able to still access the signal chain, besides having the 8 footswitches assigned, then you still have the option to have other effects/preamps running, without taking up space from the 8 assignable footswitches :-) That's the great thing about it! Effects like Reverb, Compressor, etc. and preamps can easily just be turned on, and kept as an "Always on"-pedal/effect. I hope this makes sense :-) Let me know. Best regards.
I see - correct :-) But you can simply choose yourself what effects/preamps you want to have as always on, by going to the Signal Chain and turning them on, and from there just lay out the rest of the effects you want to have assigned to the remaining footswitches :-) Feel free to ask further questions, Rob. Enjoy and rock on! Regards.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could long press a foot switch that would then take us directly to the effect parameter edit screen? I hate navigating that long effects chain when I want to edit my effects in manual mode. I wish they added the quick effects buttons on the front panel like gt10 and gt 1 have. That's my biggest beef with this unit.
Hey there, Jerry! I hear you, and that makes perfectly sense.. It can be a little daunting, having to go through the effects chain each time... Mostly I've gotten used to it, but still.. The GT-1 is real easy that way, true! Let me know if you need anything else! Best regards.
Naw, I was just complaining :) I put user interface as number one priority for me from now on. That's one reason I like to use guitar pedals. Very quick and easy to adjust however you lose the patch memory as there isn't one with individual pedals. Forgot to say that I enjoyed your videos. There were very informative. Keep up the good work.
@@jcd13able - Hehe, I'll take it, no worries 😊 Sure, I really enjoy regular stompbox pedals as well, and own my fair share, but the patch memory I need, ha! Thanks, I really appreciate you saying that! I'll keep it up! Have an excellent day, Jerry, and let me know if you need anything! Cheers and best regards 😊
Acclamations.
Thanks, but it would have been more elaborated if you used the guitar along so we could hear the tone changes as u teach and show all these features. So far, u did a great job 👏 ❤
I fully get that, but at the time, this was the best I could do. Info is still valid and good, though. Let me know if you need anything else. Best regards.
@GuitarNTabs thanks again, man. I love your spirit, so I am still experimenting with the one u explain here,If anything, I will get in touch here, Gracias 🙏🙏
Hi! Just wanted to ask, why did you started at U15-1 and not for instance U25-3 or U14-1? What is the difference for the manual mode? Can you explain it to me please?
Hi there, It doesn't matter where you start, as long as you're within the user presets, displayed with a "U". You can move the patches around, and create the desired order yourself, if that's the case. I hope this helps.
@@GuitarNTabs Many thanks for response! Yes, but each "U" are different to each other, so do I understand it correctly, that the particular "U"s are some kind of the starting point for the manual mode and desired individual sound?
@@Przemasok - Sure, I'm happy to! Yes, that's because they are different patches - some will be clean, some overdriven and some for lead playing. That all depends on what patch you're on. The "U" patches can be edited, adjusted and saved, the Preset Patches, displayed with a "P", can only be edited and adjusted, but not saved. You can start Manual Mode anywhere, there's no real start or finish, it's up to you. Makes sense? Let me know, and I'd be happy to assist further. Cheers.
@@Przemasok - You are very welcome, I'm always happy to assist! I'm glad it made sense. Let me know if you need anything else. Have an excellent weekend.
Hi there- happy new year to you too! Sure you can, you just need to use one Assign, on either Accel/CTL or Phrase Loop Pedal, or if you have an external footswitch. You need to find the Assign parameter called "DIV CH SELECT". This allows you to switch between Channel A and Channel B. I hope this helps. Best regards.
I want to be able to use one pedal such as the accel to turn on overdrive and turn off chorus simultaneously in manual mode. For some reason I can’t manage to set this up via the assign
@The Indica Gallery - Hey there. Thank you for your question and comment - I appreciate it. In Manual Mode you're able to set both the Phrase Loop and Acc/CTL pedal to the CTL ASGN option. It's shown here in the video as well, but it's the last parameter option, when you scroll the knob for the two footswitches. The CTL ASGN has to be selected, in order to get it to work properly 😊 Once the CTL ASGN is selected, then press the CTL/EXP-button and scroll to find either the Acc/CTL menu or one of the available assigns. Then set the OD/DS to be turned ON and another assign to turn OFF the chorus. It hope that makes sense - if not, then please let me know. We can easily work it out. Looking forward to your reply. Cheers.
@@theindicagallery3549 - Excellent, I'm pleased to hear that! Let me know if you need anything else, I'd be happy to help out 😊 Have an excellent day. Cheers.
Hey there, Barry! Thanks for the comment and question - I appreciate it! Sadly that option is not possible.. None of the footswitches can be assigned to specific patches.. You would either have to set up separate patches, with the effects you need, or use the Assigns to ON/OFF the different effects you need. I hope this helps - if not, then let me know. Have an excellent day Cheers.
Thank you for taking the time to upload videos. Can you tell me how to program gt100 to do swells I am having problems programming to get trailing effect. Thanks. God bless.
Thanks, you are more than welcome :-) Well, it all depends on what you're after.. Swells are often created by using the volume pedal, to bringe in the sound, and the use of reverb and delay. Perhaps some modulation as well :-) I would say, try and experiment with it all, and see what you can come up with.. It's a little hard for me to precisely dial it all in.. sorry! Anyway, I hope this will help you a little :-) Have a great day Cheers.
I think I've contacted you before I know you're from Denmark I can tell from your accent. My wife is Danish and we go there every year. Do I have to deativate the preamps or configure some other options? That is maybe a dumb question but I'm new to a Effects Processor Board!! :-)

hi there..i have a question..i would like to use the gt100 with an acoustic guitar,,so in manual mode the sound of the gt100 is bypassed if notthing is switched on? is that correct? I would get the straight sound of the acoustic guitar as if I connected her directly into the PA without the gt100? don't need the clean preamp of the gt100 to get a clean sound
Hey there, morris6635. Sorry for the late reply... :-) Correct, if nothing is switched on you'll just have the acoustic guitar going through the GT-100. Depending on your acoustic guitar, you might need to use a preamp model from the GT-100 - or maybe your acoustic already have that. I hope this makes sense. Let me know if you need anything else. Best regards.
Quick question, I just purchased a Audio Technica M40x headphones and I tried them on the GT 100, I can only hear the right side, is there any settings that I need to mess around to make both work?
GuitarNTabs I did, all worked. Also, I used the same headphones with my old ME-80 and didn’t encounter any issue. I am now thinking to re update it and hopefully it will fix the issue.
GuitarNTabs Yeah, and I cannot find any online forum that had experienced the issue. It’s already running the version 2.10 but it was the former owner who updated it. I will try to update it again myself to see the issue gets fixed. It’s just annoying lol.
Hi i have a question. If I'm using two amps by putting the divider on dual for a fat sound, do I need to go stereo output on the PA? That is, do I need to connect both left and right? Or will it work fine on Mono?
Hey there. Thanks for your comment and question. Two amps? Are we talking two external amplifiers or two of the preamp models in the GT-100? I need to know that, in order to provide a fitting answer. Let me know. Best regards.
@@995guitarhero - Hey again! Thanks for clearing that up - I appreciate it. In the Divider you have several settings - Dual L/R would apply to Stereo and Dual Mono would apply to mono connections. If you plug into the PA, in Stereo, then I would go for Dual L/R - since that applies to the Stereo connection. Yes, you would need to connect both the Left and Right output to the PA, etc. if you want to run in Stereo. Let me know if you have further questions. 😊
Thanks so much for your response! If I do go Stereo, is there any other change I should make to my FX chain? And how does going Stereo output differ from Mono, since the volume is pretty much controlled by the Master volume?
@@995guitarhero - Sure, no problem! I'm always happy to assist. Hmm, no not really. Your signal chain should be as it is - as long as you operate within "standard" pedal placement. Stereo allow you to take full advantage of the Stereo Chorus, Delay and other effects. Stereo will really add a lot more depth and fatness to your overall sound. When running Mono you won't get the full features of the Stereo effect. Stereo will always be the way to go, if it's an option.
Great Video , very helpful for working in manual mode. This probably seems like a silly question but have you or anyone out there used the GT 100 for Acoustic guitar also? I havent tried it yet but after watching this video I was thinking if one set up things in manual mode and turn off the amps/cab sims etc the Delays , Reverbs , EQs etc might sound good for acoustic also
Thanks, SuperRiver80! I appreciate your comment very much! :-) The Manual Mode is great and really useful! You can easily use the GT-100 for acoustic guitar as well, no problem. If you use the GT-100 with an amplifier I would recommend turning off the preamp(s) from the GT-100. If you use the onboard preamp(s) from the GT-100 I recommend that you do not turn them off, because they are giving you the sound of an amplifier. How exactly do you use the GT-100? With an amp or with the onboard preamps from the GT-100? :-) You could set it up in Manual Mode, assigning the stomps to be whatever you'd like. It could be Compression, Boost, Chorus, Delay and Reverb - or something similar :-) It would work out just fine, no problem :-) Let me know if I can help you out further, my friend! Regards & Cheers!
Thanks for your comment, The Supernatural :-) I've heard good things about the Full Range preamps as well! I've seen other players use it for acoustic guitar as well. I might try it out with my acoustic, soon! Cheers!
You're very welcome, SuperRiver80 :-) I believe that The Supernatural pitched in too, hehe ;-) Great, you do that, and I'll look forward to hearing about it! You're very welcome! Regards! :-)
@Rey Lazo - Putting it that way, yes, Manual Mode would be the only way to do that. Manual Mode allows you to make the GT-100 act as your regular stompbox pedalboard - where each of the 8 footswitches, plus external switches, can be assigned to certain effects, but assigns can also be used, just like in Preset Mode. What are you looking for, Rey? 😊 Best regards Cheers.

Hey there, mcsniper77. Thanks for your comment and question :-) I'm not with the GT-100 at the moment, but from memory I recall that you can, yes. Is possible use the L MONO AND R AT SAME TIME WITH TWO DIFFERENT AMPS?...WHEN I TRY TO CONNECT THEM, the amp there the mono is connected don't work good i mean sounds very low and the other r sounds good....when i connect my cable In any of L,R with a single amp sounds good,i hope you can understand my question thanks for help bro.
Hey there, light of dark 666. Thanks for your question. Yes, you can use the GT-100 with two amplifiers - it gives you a stereo connection - many players do that. It's not something I've done much, since I always run my GT-100 into either my studio monitors or PA/Mixer. I don't know how you've connected all this, but I would do it like this: Guitar cable into GT-100 input. GT-100 left output to amplifier on the left GT-100 right output to amplifier on the right. Then start with all volume/level knobs turned to 0 - and then slightly turn them up, to find the desired level. From there it's all about getting the two connected amplifiers set up the way you want them to sound - so they work with the GT-100. What do you think? Let me know. Kind regards Cheers.

@@amitkumarbhatia2005 - Thanks for clearing that up! Well, noise can be caused by many things... Hi there, John. Thanks for your comment and question, I greatly appreciate it. Let me know if you have any further questions. All the best. Cheers.
Hey there, Carlos :-) No, Manual Mode can be used no matter what equipment you're using. The Manual Mode is a second way of using the GT-100 :-) I believe you're thinking about the 4 Cable Method - which is quite common when using a tube amp :-) I hope this helps. Have a great weekend!
Hey there, Samson Daniel :-) Thanks for your comment, and what a great question! Basically they're the same, but the GT-1 has a few less functions, compared to the GT-100. The GT-100 has dual preamps, a couple of extra effects-blocks, but these are still available with the GT-1. I would choose the GT-100 if you don't mind a bigger pedalboard, dual preamp chains, effects loop for external pedals, amp control, etc. I would choose the GT-1 is you need to scale things down a little, but still keep that good sound. The GT-1 doesn't feature an effects loop for external pedals, but all you basically need is already in the GT-1 :-P I know this is a brief answer, but you also have some information available on the Boss/Roland webpage. Let me know if you need anything else - I'd be happy to help out! Cheers :-)
Hey Johnny! Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it! :-) Well, I believe I explained the difference, but I might have skipped it, anyway: The BPM option is referring to the MASTER BPM of the patch you're on. By default the MASTER BPM is set to 120bpm. If you want to sync. your delays with the tempo of a song, then you set the MASTER BPM to the desired tempo and select the delay's subdivisions. So, the MASTER BPM is the overall tempo of the patch. The Tap Delay bpm lets you, by using your foot, tap the tempo via either the Accel or Phrase Loop pedal, or any further CTL-pedals you've connected. That can come in handy if you only use a few patches live, and want to just tap the delay in, when the drummer counts you in. :-) Hope this helps! Otherwise, let me know. Cheers! :-)
Haha, you never get exhausted when you're working on the GT-100! :-D Well, there was a lot of information to clear out, and I wanted to do it as best as possible, hehe! Hope you enjoyed it, mate! Cheers! :-)
Brilliant unit but way too complicated for someone who wants to play guitar. Please give me an old fashioned (no longer available) simple delay unit that has presets for delay time. That's all I want.
Hey, ZoogieBAR 😊 I see where you're coming from, and yes, the GT-100 can be a little overwhelming at first, but it's really not that bad. If you want, I would be happy to get you started? No problem. Just let me know. But yes, times are certainly changing, and some of us are still trying to tag along... Cheers.
I purchased one of these last week spent hours trying to work it out ,then more hours trying to get decent sound then realised Ive wasted $400 ,it sounds so digital really awful way too many options its just ridiculous, amp modelling really sucks the interface and programming throws so many options at you its ridiculous. The downloadable presets from the site come in at all different volume levels and some are just so way out and awful. The delays and modulations are touchy and if you tweak one effect then the amp modelling sounds heaps different its weird.I have the early analog boss ME5 processor whether its truely analog or not it sounds a million times better than this GT100.
Hey Anthony. I'm very sad to hear that... and I must say that I can't quite understand it... Before you take it back, answer these questions for me: 1. Did you select the proper OUTPUT SELECT, matching the gear you are hooking the GT-100 up to? What gear are you using with the GT-100? 2. Did you do the Input Calibration? The Input Calibration will balance the output of your guitar and its pickups, making sure that you are not sending too hot of a signal to the GT-100's input. 3. How do you want to use the GT-100 in your set-up? Do you want to use it for effects only, along with your own amplifier? Do you want to use it for both effects and preamps/cabinets, using it with headphones, studio monitors or a PA/Mixer? All these basic set-up questions are very important, in order to get a good result with the GT-100. The thing with the downloadable patches being in different volumes is because they are not level matched - which basically means that the patch is created without keeping an eye on the levels, when new effects are added to the patch/signal chain. Especially effects like overdrives, distortions, compressors, etc. will add gain to your sound, and if it is not taken care of, then it will be uncontrolled, and that can really ruin a good patch! That's why it's so important to listen for any increase or drop in volume, when you make patches, because that will allow you to change the gain level or the output level of that particular effect, if you hear anything being different. Another thing... The factory presets and the downloadable ones are really not that good.. They suck, to be honest.. Some are decent, but I wouldn't rely on them for anything, really... The best result is always to create your own patches, from scratch! Trust me on this! I've been where you are now! Let me know! I'm sure I can help you out, and make this better! Looking forward to hear from you, Anthony! Cheers!

Simply wonderful to see how much my GT 100 can do thanks for your support, amazing technology you friend get the job done a boss tech you are !

I just couldn't live with that, so I decided to dig a little deeper ;-)
Let me know if you need anything :-)

I keep coming back to this video for the manual mode tips
Thank you, I'm pleased to hear that!
The GT-100 is a great unit, and its possibilities are endless!
Have a great day!
I'm pleased to hear that my video helped you out - its purpose is served 😊🎸
You're right, Keith, being able to use an external footswitch, like the FS-6 or FS-7, will allow you to assign further effects and parameters and have it all in one place!

Cheers!

I never realized a Battery or Power Supply was needed for any of the FS Controls!!

Thanks again for your comment, Lars :-)
The GT-100's Manual Mode is the closest you'll get to a manual pedalboard, and it can easily be done.
Let me know what you think :-)
Best regards & Cheers.
Thank you very much for such detailed explanation! Exactly what I needed
Thank you for watching, and for the nice comment, I greatly appreciate it.

Best regards
Cheers.

Many thanks

Hi Emma :)
Thank you very much, I truly appreciate it!
Great, I'm very pleased to hear that! Do you use the GT-100 in Manual Mode mainly?
Thanks, Emma :)
I'll have a new Manual Mode video out, real soon, so stay tuned!
Hello
I'm relatively new to the world of effects pedals.
Hi again, Emma :-)
Nice to hear from you.
I get that, it'll take time to get familiar with the different modes, so take your time :-)
Are you using the GT-100 for both effects and preamps, or how is it set up?
Thanks, I'll start recording soon :-)
Let me know if I can help you - I'd be happy to.
Cheers, Emma :-)
At the moment I'm just experimenting with effects and preamps, some work well with the flute others are just too much.
Thank you :) I'll let you know if I have any questions
Hey!
Yeah, I totally get that - it's a good idea to go through the different effects and preamps, that's good :-)
You're welcome - I'll look forward to that :-)
Have a good day, Emma.
I just sat down with the GT-100, trying to dial in a similar tone, and here's what I got:
CMP (Compressor) - Stereo Comp: Sustain 40 - Attack 50 - Level 50 - Tone 0.

Hey Philip,
On the back of the GT100, there's an INPUT for what's called SUB CONTROL.

That's a great feature, and it eliminates riverdance, for sure 😂🤣

Hi there, Berthold.

Obviously you can add all manner of effects to each channel if needed
Another way would be using multiple assigns on the same pedal set to toggle S/R on/off while toggling the GT preamps off/on. That way you could use channel A/B to switch between two different GT preamps and the assingned pedal for your own amp but that's a bit more complicated to explain in text.
Hello thanks for your video. Please how can I purchase the gt 100 pedal?
Depends on your location, but you should be able to buy it in music stores and often second hand.
I hope this helps.
how do i clear the patches? meaning all i want is to use my amp two channels and just us the gt100 for reverb delay chorus etc...making it like a stomp box for each button.

Hi. Enjoying your videos. Question. Does the preamp have to take up space in the chain or can it just be default to on like the reverb pedal?
Basically I'm wondering why you would want the preamp in the chain? Maybe a silly question.
Hey there, Rob :-)
Thanks for your comment, kind words and question.
I assume we're talking Manual Mode here, right? :-)
If so, no, the preamp will not take up space - since you're able to still access the signal chain, besides having the 8 footswitches assigned, then you still have the option to have other effects/preamps running, without taking up space from the 8 assignable footswitches :-) That's the great thing about it!
Effects like Reverb, Compressor, etc. and preamps can easily just be turned on, and kept as an "Always on"-pedal/effect.
I hope this makes sense :-)
Let me know.
Best regards.
Yeah that makes complete sense. I asked because near the end of the video you made the preamp one of the pedals. Thanks!
I see - correct :-) But you can simply choose yourself what effects/preamps you want to have as always on, by going to the Signal Chain and turning them on, and from there just lay out the rest of the effects you want to have assigned to the remaining footswitches :-)
Feel free to ask further questions, Rob.

Naw, I was just complaining :) I put user interface as number one priority for me from now on. That's one reason I like to use guitar pedals. Hi! Just wanted to ask, why did you started at U15-1 and not for instance U25-3 or U14-1? What is the difference for the manual mode? Can you explain it to me please?
Hi there,
It doesn't matter where you start, as long as you're within the user presets, displayed with a "U".

Did you ever sort out why the ACC / CTL pedal stays on moment (have to keep foot on pedal) for options like +10 Lev??
Hello,
You have to change the mode for the Acc/Ctl. Default it's set to Moment, but switch it to Toggle, and it will solve the issue.
Hi happy new year...I can't b able to set channel a and b on the same patch
To change sound
The CTL ASGN has to be selected, in order to get it to work properly 😊
Once the CTL ASGN is selected, then press the CTL/EXP-button and scroll to find either the Acc/CTL menu or one of the available assigns. Then set the OD/DS to be turned ON and another assign to turn OFF the chorus.
It hope that makes sense - if not, then please let me know. We can easily work it out.

Hey there, Barry!

Sadly that option is not possible.. None of the footswitches can be assigned to specific patches..
You would either have to set up separate patches, with the effects you need, or use the Assigns to ON/OFF the different effects you need.

Thank you for taking the time to upload videos. Can you tell me how to program gt100 to do swells I am having problems programming to get trailing effect. Thanks. God bless.

Well, it all depends on what you're after.. Swells are often created by using the volume pedal, to bringe in the sound, and the use of reverb and delay. Perhaps some modulation as well :-) I would say, try and experiment with it all, and see what you can come up with.. It's a little hard for me to precisely dial it all in.. sorry!

Hi,
Not two external amps, I meant two preamps on the GT-100.

Thanks, SuperRiver80! I appreciate your comment very much! :-)
The Manual Mode is great and really useful!
You could set it up in Manual Mode, assigning the stomps to be whatever you'd like.
It could be Compression, Boost, Chorus, Delay and Reverb - or something similar :-)
It would work out just fine, no problem :-)

Hi, so the manual mode is the only way to turn on/off each effect individually with the pedals right?
@Rey Lazo - Putting it that way, yes, Manual Mode would be the only way to do that.
Manual Mode allows you to make the GT-100 act as your regular stompbox pedalboard - where each of the 8 footswitches, plus external switches, can be assigned to certain effects, but assigns can also be used, just like in Preset Mode.

I hope this makes sense.
In the acoustic sim patch my phrase loop does not work. Can you explain it? Thank you!
Hmm, perhaps it might have been assigned to not be activated? Have you checked that?
Otherwise, just try and assign it to something you want it to do, and see if that helps :-)
Hope this helps.
Have a great weekend.
Cheers.
Is it possible to enter into manual mode a different way? Maybe by double-tapping the pedal number that corresponds to the patch?
Not as far as I know.. I can't remember if there's an assign option for it, but you can look for it.
Otherwise it by pressing the two footswitches.
I use an external Boss FS6 for "seldom" things. Maybe 1 for Tuner and 2 for Manual mode switch.
this stuff is still effectif for a bass?
Can you save what you have set in manual mode? Thanks.
Hey there, mcsniper77.
Thanks for your comment and question :-)
I'm not with the GT-100 at the moment, but from memory I recall that you can, yes.
Enter Manual Mode on a patch, set it up, press save, and that should store it.
I believe you would be able to do the same on other patches as well :-)
Give it a try, and let me know :-)
Let me know if you need anything else!
Have a great day & cheers.
I don't know how you've connected all this, but I would do it like this:
Guitar cable into GT-100 input.
GT-100 left output to amplifier on the left
GT-100 right output to amplifier on the right.
Then start with all volume/level knobs turned to 0 - and then slightly turn them up, to find the desired level.
From there it's all about getting the two connected amplifiers set up the way you want them to sound - so they work with the GT-100.
What do you think?
Let me know.
Kind regards
Cheers.
Hello Bro
I want to Know
That How to control Churping voice in GT 100
Actually The voice is so disturbing while playing Guitar
When I remove my Hand from guitar
It's more increasing voice
Plz let me know ASAP 😊😊
Hey there, Amit.
Thanks for your question - I appreciate it!
I'm not sure what you mean by "churping" voice?
Are you talking about noise, when you play your patches?
Best regards.
Yes I am talking about Noise
Noise disturbs me while playing on stage
Noise sounds so much while playing
@@amitkumarbhatia2005 - Thanks for clearing that up!
Well, noise can be caused by many things... Your guitar and its pickups, a bad guitar cable, too much gain on your patches, uncontrolled gain stages from overdrive/distortion, etc.. the list is quite long...
How are you using your GT-100? And, how do you have it set up?
Knowing that may help me trouble-shoot.
Thanks.
How to save the patches that ive edit in manual mode and recall them when i need them?
Tried to save the patchds ive edited in manual mode but whem i go back to bank mode and toggle back to manual mode my saved settings is gone.
Hey there, Clan Yongco.
Thank you for your comment and question.
To save the patches, and the changes you've made to them, press the WRITE-button.
To scroll through them, use the UP and DOWN footswitches.
I believe that should do it 😊
Cheers.
@@GuitarNTabs thanks man! I really appreciate it! Great video tutorials man! Just keep it coming!
Is boss gt 1000 better than gt 100?
@@clanyongco2908 - I've heard good things about the GT-1000, but I haven't tried it out, yet..
I'm currently happy with my GT-100, so I'm not going to make the change at this moment, but perhaps at some point 😊
I can't really say more than that.. I hope that's alright.
Cheers.
How to add multiple user patches
Hello, Leo.
Multiple User patches? What exactly do you mean?
Let me know, and I'd be happy to assist.
Cheers.
can u play each set up?
Hi,
I'm not sure I understand?
Do think this sounds better than the Boss gt1
Hi there, John.
Thanks for your comment and question, I greatly appreciate it.
Basically the GT-1 and the GT-100 has the same engine - the GT-1 is just a scaled-down version with a few lesser effects, footswitches, etc.
They should in general sound the same.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
All the best.
Cheers.
Manual mode is for tube amps?
Hey there, Carlos :-)
No, Manual Mode can be used no matter what equipment you're using.
The Manual Mode is a second way of using the GT-100 :-)
I believe you're thinking about the 4 Cable Method - which is quite common when using a tube amp :-)
I hope this helps.
Have a great weekend!
Should I go for Gt1 or gt100???
Hey there, Samson Daniel :-)
Thanks for your comment, and what a great question!
The GT-1 doesn't feature an effects loop for external pedals, but all you basically need is already in the GT-1 :-P
I know this is a brief answer, but you also have some information available on the Boss/Roland webpage.
Let me know if you need anything else - I'd be happy to help out!
Cheers :-)
Hey Man, great info, thanks. I'm a bit confuzled though. Whats the difference between BPM and Tap Delay. Don't they do the same thing? Cheers.
Hey Johnny!
Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it! :-)
Well, I believe I explained the difference, but I might have skipped it, anyway:
The BPM option is referring to the MASTER BPM of the patch you're on.
Hope this helps!
Otherwise, let me know.
Cheers! :-)
you had to be exhausted after this video lol
Haha, you never get exhausted when you're working on the GT-100! :-D
Well, there was a lot of information to clear out, and I wanted to do it as best as possible, hehe!
Hope you enjoyed it, mate!
Cheers! :-)
I was confused before watching this video, now that i watched it i am more confused.
Hello I need your help
Yes, what do you need?
Brilliant unit but way too complicated for someone who wants to play guitar. Please give me an old fashioned (no longer available) simple delay unit that has presets for delay time. That's all I want.
Hey, ZoogieBAR 😊
I see where you're coming from, and yes, the GT-100 can be a little overwhelming at first, but it's really not that bad.
Before you take it back, answer these questions for me:
Cheers!
