At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Hürrem always with "Prince Mustafa" under her tongue! She cared more how get rid him than the bad situation between Selim and Bayezid!

I mean not really? Especially when you consider that Mustafa's rise put their lives in jeopardy.

@@rosekoufopoulou8973 actually during kids time, mehmed handle both selim and bayezid, but yes, had hurrem still alive till suleyman death, she could at least prevent bayezid execution

i remember Hürrem often guided them to have a better relationship with each other with her advice, at least strong enough to survive until either became sultan making her power enough to defend them openly. this, and that the result was often as she expected makes me have a positive view of her motherhood. of course, the change of the succession system was Süleyman's choice. because he let didn't do it, execution would be a possibility as long as they had a rival. its why they didnt know brotherhood as we do. but that doesn't change the fact Hürrem had an eye on their relationship since childhood, and the other on Mustafa because if not him, who couldn't even look at Mihrimah in the eye when she questioned him about what his choice over their brothers would be if he became sultan, his allies would've went against them in his benefit. it makes sense that Mustafa, who isn't her son, is more important to take care of than Selim and Bayezid who she has been able to talk into peace before for her. it's because she isn't around that their rivalry grows until they go to civil war. Bayezid is the only of Hürrem's children who's demise happens under these circumstances. Mehmed is poisoned by Mahidevran and Cihangir is unable to handle the pain of Mustafa's execution with his illness, so i don't understand why their deaths' are a counterpoint to the argument Hürrem wanted to get rid of Mustafa for survival.

@@ΔημΣΚ The amount of comments and replies you have on this channel is genuinely concerning and unhealthy. It is not possible for any average functioning adult to spend this much time here. My guess is you’re a pre-teen/teen or you’re getting paid for the comments. Not a rude remark, just a genuine concern!

When her mother went missing the first time, and she knew Hatice and Shah were behind it, she invited Shah to dinner after banishing her from the palace, so she could spring a beautiful trap on her with her traitor servant Ermine. Who told Mihrimah everything about Shah and Hatice sneaking Nigar into her palace so she could kidnap Mihrimah's daughter. Mihrimah had Shah dead to right!! and told her to leave and never return or else she would tell his majesty the Sultan about what they did. BYE, BYE, SHAH!! DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOUR ROYAL BACKSIDE ON THE WAY OUT!!!! Bravo Mihrimah!! You were certainly your mother's daughter!!

you mean the disappearance of Hurrem? It sucked and didn't make much sense to me... And I would like to know, if Meryem didn't quit... what would've been the original script for the seasons finale...?
